Antique wood. Natural weathering and the signs of use produce an aesthetic look and feel that cannot
be created artificially. The company Altholz, Baumgartner & Co specialises in recycling the valuable
resource of old wood. To help this material shake off its traditional and rustic image, the firm has also
been cooperating with the artist Christian Loikits (Experimental Design/University of Art and Design
Linz) since 2011. This has given rise to the new label Madame Patina, as well as ambitious furniture
and design concepts.

Anrei is one of Austria's most traditional manufacturers of furniture. It has entered into cooperation
with Thomas Feichtner through a shared interest in perfect craftsmanship and ecological sustainability
in conjunction with contemporary design. With his artistic approach Feichtner has aimed to do away
with the heavy and massive qualities typical of solid wood furniture. All furniture in the Fino collection
features a sort of 'chassis' acting as a substructure. This intelligent method of connection can be found
in all Fino models, so giving the product line an identity all of its own.

It was with his first light entitled VERVE that the architect and designer Georg Bechter 2010 founded
his company GEORG BECHTER LICHT. Since then he has produced a refined selection of light
modules made of plaster, which are flush-mounted with plasterboard wall panels. Light and space
become one. "…The light beams from the wall as if projected …", this is how VERVE was described in
the first report from the judging panel. Following the award made at the Blickfang design exhibition
held in Stuttgart in 2011, GEORG BECHTER LICHT was also the winner of the innovation prize of the
Austrian province of Vorarlberg for the best start-up in 2012.

CONCRETO GmbH based at Haslach an der Mühl was founded at the end of 2004 with the aim of
launching an innovative new product; high-quality furniture made of concrete. Years of research and
experimentation have enabled the team at CONCRETO to develop technology that has made the
building material concrete acceptable for other applications. For product development of the BLOC
line of concrete furniture which is also suitable for outdoor use, the firm turned to the industrial
designer Gerd Rosenauer, whose firm x-visions in Linz specialises in designs for the furniture sector

Doris Darling has developed a lamp made of hand-blown glass that is designed to interact with the
user. The form of the object is reminiscent of the old-fashioned weights seen in pictures of funfairs
from bygone days. The lamp is available in a range of colours and thanks to its form, it can be
positioned in a room in different ways: hung from the ceiling, laid on the floor or wandering here and
there. You'll always be offered something new by this designer piece.

When interior design for the home becomes an expression of individual freedom, when traditional
craftsmanship is combined with state-of-the-art technology and when styling encounters functional
design, the result is FORCHER furniture. Aesthetics of form and function become a sign of personal
freedom while offering refuge and security. Emotional appeal, creativity, style and perfectionism may
well be catchphrases elsewhere, but at FORCHER these words make up its philosophy.

Moor & Moor are three brothers from Bregenzerwald who have set themselves the task of building
beds and sofas for urban nomads. Their names are Andreas, Johannes and Richard Mohr, and they
are from Andelsbuch. They are carrying on the traditional craftsmanship of their parents' business with
the label Moor & Moor. Founded in 1999, it was prompted by their dissatisfaction with a global market
that sells bland furniture which has been mass-produced somewhere in China without any regard for
nature, ecology or man.
Andreas, a qualified architect, looks after marketing, upholsterer Johannes makes upholstered
furniture and beds while Richard, the joiner, is responsible for building beds. All products are designed
so they can be shipped all over the world without any problems.
