The Modified Mining Plan with PMCP has been approved by Superintending Mining

Engineer, Jodhpur, Department of Mines and Geology, Rajasthan. Copy of approved Modified

Mining Plan Letter is enclosed as ANNEXURE – VI.

2.2 BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE NATURE OF PROJECT

This is a proposed Asada Masonry Stone mining project. As per EIA

Notification dated 14th Sep, 2006 and as amended till date, the project falls under,

Category “B2”. It has been proposed to excavate approximately 132241 TPA of

Masonry Stone from M.L. No.242/05, by open - cast, semi - mechanized method. The

lease area is 1.00 ha. Total mineable reserve available is 515250 T of Masonry Stone

mineral. The expected life of mine is say 4.0 years. No Waste (mineral reject) generated

during the two year plan period. The Masonry Stone will be transported through

dumpers.

At the end of life of mine, the excavated pit will cover 0.7225 ha. area out of

total 1.00 ha area. At conceptual stage whole area will be converted into water reservoir.

The daily water demand will be 3.31 KLD.

The daily water demand will be 3.31 KLD out of which 3.15 KLD will be met

from the nearby village pond (desiltation and impoundment will be carried out by P.P.).

On one hand this will recharge the ground water table on the other will act as a water

source nearby habitants. Only water for drinking purposes i.e. 0.16 KLD will be

brought from nearby dug well/PHED. However, rain water stored in the pit during the

rainy season will be used for plantation and dust suppression. The depth of water table

is 90 m (Pre-Monsoon) to 80 m (Post-Monsoon) below the general ground level. Thus

ground water table will not be encountered during working in the mine.

2.2 NEED FOR THE PROJECT & ITS IMPORTANCE TO THE COUNTRY/

REGION

The Masonary stone is a basic building construction material for constructing

houses, bridges and roads. It is cheaper than the RCC construction material due to its

easy workability. Thus, keeping in mind this requirement, mining of Masonary Stone is

necessary for durability and to beautify by carving as per the requirement of the

consumer.

Total of 29 people will be employed for the mining activity which will create

direct & indirect opportunity for employment to local people. By mineral production

the applicant will pay royalty & other taxes which will be an additional source of

revenue for the region. The proposed Masonary Stone mining project will cater the

need of individual and local market of construction resulting benefit in terms of socio -

economic development.

2.3 DEMAND – SUPPLY GAP

Masonary Stone is one of the essential components for building and

infrastructural development projects. It has high demand in the market due to increased

domestic, industrial and other infrastructural activities.

2.4 IMPORTS VS. INDIGENOUS PRODUCTION

In the current business scenario of Masonry Stone, import of Masonry Stone is not

envisaged. It is for Captive use only no import is done.

2.5 EXPORT POSSIBILITY

Not applicable as proposed mine is for captive use only.

2.6 DOMESTIC/EXPORT MARKETS

Domestic demand is one of the chief reasons for the rapid growth of Masonry

Stone business in India. Thus, domestic market for Masonry Stone as industrial

material is well established. Masonry Stone produced from the proposed Asada

Masonry Stone mine will be used in the ceramic and refractory industries. No export

will be done.

2.7 EMPLOYMENT GENERATION (DIRECT AND INDIRECT) DUE TO THE

PROJECT

The total number of manpower is required for the mining activity is 24-29 people.

These area belong to malani igneous rock. Malani igneous rock represent a widespread

acid volcanism at the waning phase of Proterozoic in the western parts of

Rajasthan. Malani Igneous Suite includes extrusive volcanic outpourings as well as

plutonic intrusions that took place in several phases. They overlie the Proterozoic

metamorphics of the Delhi Supergroup and underlie the Jodhpur Group of rocks of

Marwar Super Group. The extrusive phase (745 m.y) comprise of tuffs, welded

tuffs, rhyolites, rhyolite porphyry, and mafics; while the intrusives (600 my) are

represented by Siwana and Jhalore granites with associated dykes. In the study

area these igneous rocks are best exposed in the southern and south western parts

around Jodhpur, Banner, Balotra, Jhalore and Siwana as hills and inselbergs.

Chawade and Chandrasekaran (1996) reported a pre -Malani (post Delhi)
