Independence Day 15/8/2016
Independence Day was celebrated on 15/8/2016 in our institution. Principal
Nagaraja N M was speaking on Independence. All staff and some students were presented on the occasion.
Teacher’s day
Date: 05.09.2016
Teachers day was celebrated in our college on 05.09.2016. It was organized by the students association of the college. Program started with a devotional song sung by Madhu GR and Srinivas H. Students spoke about the importance of teachers in their life. Students had also hosted some games for teachers and the winners were awarded prizes.
Jaatha on the occasion of International day of girl child

Objectives :
To create awareness among the students as well as rural mass about the importance of girl child
To create awareness about stopping the female foeticide To create awareness about providing education to girls
Jaatha on the eve of International day of girl child was organized from the college. Students went aroud the village showing placards and raised slogans in order to create awareness about the importance of girl child.

World Human Rights Day Celebration:
10.12.2017:
World Human Rights day was celebrated in the college by the Human Rights committee. The program wasPresided over by Lakshmana.E, Assistant professor. Speaking on the occasion, RaghavendraRao.G.S, Co-ordinator of the committee said that Human rights are basic rights that belong to us simply because we are human. They embody key values in our society. Nataraja.K, Assistant professor was also present in the program.
National Youths day (Swami Vivekananda Jayanthi)
Date: 12.01.2017
Swami Vivekananda Jayanthi and National Youths Day Program was organized on 12.01.2017. It began with the prayer by first Year B.A. student. Mr. Nagappa, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Sociology, welcomed the guests, teaching and Non-teaching staff, students. The program was inaugurated by offering flowers to portrait of Swami Vivekananda by the guests present on the dias.
Basavarajaiah N.M, in his special lecturing briefed the students about the life history of Swami Vivekananda and gave a call to the students to develop moral values in life and ethics in their work. He also answered many questions of students regarding concentration and exam fear.
It was followed by presentation of awards to winners in various events. N.M. Nagaraja, principal, in his presidential address, also emphasized on the importance of knowing the life history of great personality like Swami Vivekananda and called for adopting the thoughts of Vivekananda in their lives.
Rajmohan NR, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Commerce, ended the programme with vote of thanks to all those who were present and program anchoring was done by Dr. Supriya R,Department of Commerce.
International Women’s day

On the date of 27.03.2017Internationals women’s day celebration was held in
Sri Basaveshwara government first grade college, Mayakonda. College principal, Nagaraja.N.M was president of this program. Program began with prayer from Shilpa.P of III B.com.
Chandrashekarappa.S, Asst. Professor of English, welcome the gathering. Chief guest, Dr. Mamatha.M, Block Resource Coordinator, Dept. of Education, Davanagere South, said that Women is worshipped in our society and Vedas and Puranas attribute a special position for women. But in reality, women have been a victim of the suppressions. Her place is limited to four corners of the house. But today women have been occupying major positions in all the fields whether it is Civil services, Entrepreneurship, politics or financial fields. 26.01.2018
Republic day was celebrated in our college on 26.01.2019. All the staff of the college
and students were present. The main attraction of the day was Rangers and Rovers unit of the
college. They also participated in the march fast held in the village grounds and won prizes.
Flag hoisting was done by PalakshiNaik.L, Principal of the college. In his address, he
narrated how our constitution was framed and called on the students to respect and follow the
constitution.
Speaking on the occasion, RaghavendraRao.G.S, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Political
science, said that our constitution is gift given to us by the freedom fighters and leaders. It is
vivid and has many salient features to its credit.

PROGRAMME REPORT
National Voters Day awareness Programme was started with a prayer by Mamatha, Second year B.com student. Sri Rahaavendra Rao.G.S, Asst. Professor welcomed the guests, teaching and Non-teaching staff, students. The program was inaugurated by Honorable Sri Kenga Balayya, Senior Civil Judge, who in his speech, told the students how democracy would work properly if elections are held in free and fair manner and all voters vote on the basis of clean image of the candidates. He also spoke about the basis on which a democracy stands. Chief Guest Sri.Lokesh.L in his speech made a note of the importance of the voting in order to protect the democratic functioning of the institutions and highlighted the importance of youths especially college students to vote for the candidates with clean image.
It was followed by Special lecturing By Sri Mahantesh, who called upon the students to take up voting as a serious issue and think well before deciding the candidate. Finally Sri Santosh Kumar delivered the Presidential Speech. He gave a call to the students to participate in the electoral process by voting in the coming elections and to build a strong democracy. The Programme was ended with vote of thanks by Nataraja.K,Asst. Professor of Commerce, to all those who were present and Programme anchoring was done by Sri Chandrashekarappa.S.

Swami Vivekananda Jasyanthi and National Youths Day Programme began with the prayer by Sri Manjunatha.K, Asst.Professor of Kannada. Sri Raghavendra Rao G S., Asst. Professor welcomed the guests, teaching and Non-teaching staff, students. The programme was inaugurated by offering flowers to the photograph of Swami Vivekananda by the guests present on the dais.
Parama Poojya Sri Shivananda Mahaswamiji, Sri Jade Siddeshwara Mata, Davanagere in his Special Lecturing briefed the students about the life history of Swami Vivekananda and also emphasized the importance of keeping our body and mind sound. He also asked the students to do yoga and meditation in order to keep our body and mind healthy.
It was followed by Distribution of Laptops to Students. Prof. Palakshi Naik L, Principal, in his presidential address, asked the students to contribute to the society by following the thoughts of Swami Vivekananda. The Programme was ended with vote of thanks by Sri Prasanna Sha, Asst. Professor to all those who were present and Sri Nataraja.K, Asst. Professor did the anchoring.
World Human Rights day

World Human Rights day was celebrated in the college by the Human Rights committee. The program was inaugurated by PalaskhiNaik. L, Principal. Speaking on the occasion, RaghavendraRao.G.S, Co-ordinator of the committee said that Human rights are at the heart of the sustainable development goals. India has also enacted the protection of Human Rights Act, 1993 to ensure the protection of Human Rights. Prasannasha, Assistant professor was also present at the program.
International Day of Girl Child (Jaatha)
Date: 12.10.2017
Jatha was organized on the eve of International Day of Girl Child by NSS, Rovers and Rangers Unit of the College. It was inaugurated by PalakshiNaik.L, Principal of the college. Students, under the guidance of Manjunatha. K, NSS Co-ordinator and all the staff of the college went around the streets of Mayakonda Village showing placards and raising slogans about the importance of literacy.
Lakshmana.E, said that girl child is a symbol of tolerance and female infanticide is a cruel thing.PalakshiNaik.L, Principal, said that female role is a great thing who is a mother, care taker and a daughter.Society should stop treating discriminately in case of girls and they also should be looked on par with boys.

Program began with the prayer by II year B.A. students. PrasannaSha,
Asst. Professor, Dept. of Sociology welcomed the gathering. Dr. Supriya.R,
Asst. Professor, made introductory speech. Chief guest Smt. Nasreen Banu,
Assistant Teacher, Govt. Model School, Mayakonda, in her speech focused on
the women achievements and emphasized on the need to get educated in today’s
world. She also gave brief description of her own life and the problems she had
to face while pursuing her education. In spite of all these, she was able to do her
masters and got government appointment. It was followed by the presidential
address, in which PalakshiNaik.L, Principal, highlighted the various schemes
and welfare measures provided by the Government exclusively for girl students.
Manjunatha.K, Asst. Professor, ended the program with vote of thanks to all
those who were present and program anchoring was done by Nataraja K, Asst.

Republic day was celebrated in our college on 26.01.2019. All the staff of the college

Unit of the College. It was inaugurated by PalakshiNaik.L, Principal of the
college. Students, under the guidance of Manjunatha.K, NSS Co-coordinator
and all the staff of the college, went around the streets of Mayakonda Village
showing placards and raising slogans about the importance of literacy.
Basavarajaiah.N.M, Assistant Professor, Dept. of History, said that we all should be proud of a girl child because a girl takes care of her whole family and is the symbol of toleration. He also spoke about the contribution of women in the freedom struggle.
Lakshmana.E, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Economics, said that it is the girls who are leading in front in all aspects whether its academic side or others. So there should be no discrimination between male or female and the values we cultivate in them is very important.
International Women’s Day

Asst. Professor, made introductory speech. Chief Guest Smt. Sumalatha. R,
PDO, Mayakonda Gram Panchayath, in her speech highlighted the importance
of women in today’s world. Being a woman herself, she gave self-experience of
how a woman can achieve if she is determined.
Winners in various events conducted exclusively for female students
were presented prizes on this occassion. It was followed by the presidential
address, in which PalakshiNaik.L, Principal, gave a note of how women serve
the society by playing various roles. Manjunatha.K, Asst. Professor, ended the
program with vote of thanks to all those who were present and program
anchoring was done by RaghavendraRao.G.S, Asst. Professor.

Rashtariya Ekata Divasa (31.10.2019) National Unity day was celebrated in the college on 31.10.2019. The program was presided over by Lakshmana.E, Principal. All the faculties were present. Dr. Chandrashekarappa.S, Cultural Secretary, gave the oath to all those who were present. He also explained the importance of National Unity Day which also happens to be the birth anniversary of SardarVallabhai Patel.
Vigilance awareness Week (28.10.2019 to 02.11.2019)
Vigilance awareness week was organized in the college from 28.10.2019 to 02.11.2019.
As part of this program, various activities were conducted which included:
Oath taking: Oath taking program was organized in the seminar hall on 28.10.2019 in
which all the faculty and students participated. RaghavendraRao.G.S, Assistant
Professor, Dept. of Political Science gave the oath.
Jatha on 30.10.2019: As part of Vigilance awareness week, a Jatha was organized in
which students of the college under the guidance of College faculty went around the
Mayakonda village raising slogans to create awareness among the public.Human
chain was formed at the circle in order to create awareness against corruption.
Speech competition on 31.10.2019: A speech competition on the topic “Role of Youth
in eradicating corruption” was organized in the college in which students participated
actively and the winners were awarded prizes.
National Integration Week (Dt: 19.11.2019 to 25.11.2019)
National Integration week was organized in the college from 19.11.2019 to 25.11.2019. As part of this program, following activities were conducted:
Oath taking on 19.11.2019: National Integration oath was administered to all those present in the program. It was presided over by Lakshmana.E, Principal. PrasannaSha, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Sociology spoke about the need for Non-violence, Communal Harmonyand Secularism in the country.
Minorities Welfare Day was celebrated on 20.11.2019. Manjunatha.K, Assistant
Professor, Dept. of Kannada, spoke about the various welfare schemes framed by the Government for the welfare of Minorities.
Lingusitic Harmony Day was celebrated on 21.11.2019. Lakshmana.E, Principal presided over the program. Dr. Chandrashekarappa.S, Assistant Professor, Dept. of English gave a special lecture on Need for Linguistic Harmony in India.
Weaker sections Day was celebrated on 22.11.2019. On this occasion Jatha was
organized and students were taken around the major streets of the village. It depicted the various welfare schemes implemented by the Government for the development of weaker sections.
Cultural Unity Day was celebrated on 23.11.2019 in the college. Students participated in the college event by wearing dresses depicting various cultures.
Women’s day was celebrated on 24.11.2019 in the college. The program was presided
over by Lakshmana.E, Principal. Mrs.Geetha, Political Science lecturer, was the chief guest and she gave special lecture on the topic “ Role of women in Nation Building”.
Documentaries on some of the women achievers were also shown on this eve. Conservation Day was celebrated on 25.11.2019 in the college by organizing Jatha
and by planting saplings in and around the college.
One nation One Constitution Abhiyaan
(Date: 04.11.2019 to 26.11.2019)
In order to celebrate One nation one constitution Abhiyaan in the college, a committee was formed under the chairmanship of Principal. Dr. Chandrashekarappa.S was designated as the Co-ordinator of the Committee. As part of this campaign, following programs were organized:
Inauguration: The campaign was inaugurated on 04.11.2019 by Lakshmana.E, Principal.
Special Lecture was organized on 06.11.2019 in the college. Raghavendra Rao.G.S, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Political Science, spoke about Framing of Indian constitution.
Speech competition on the topic Salient features of Indian Constitution was organized to the students on 13.11.2019. Students actively participated in the competition and spoke about the topic. Prizes were awarded to the winners.
Patriotic songs singing competition was organized to the students on 14.11.2019. Students actively participated in the competition and sang various patriotic songs. Prizes were awarded to the winners.
Documentary on Indian Constitution was shown to the students on 18.11.2019

Constitution Day was organized in the college on 26.11.2019. The program was presided over by Lakshmana.R, Principal. Mrs.Geetha, Political Science Lecturer, was the Chief Guest. She also gave a special lecture on the topic Directive Principles of State policy. Raghavendra Rao.G.S, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Political Science, made the welcome speech and Vote of thanks was given by Nataraja.K, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Commerce.

On December 10, 2019World Human Rights day was celebrated in the college by the Human Rights committee. The program was inaugurated by Lakshmana.E, Principal. Speaking on the occasion, RaghavendraRao.G.S, Co-ordinator Human Rights committee, said that the theme of the 2019 Human Rights Day is: Youth Standing Up for Human Rights. Human rights is an inalienable right which everyone is inherently entitled to as a human being regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, language, national or social origin, property, birth or
belong from other status. He called upon youths to uphold these rights in order to ensure an equalitarian society.
National Integration Week

National Integration week was organized in the college from 19.11.2020to 25.11.2020. As part of this program, following activities were conducted:
Oath taking on 19.11.2020: National Integration oath was administered to all those present in the program. It was presided over by Lakshmana.E, Principal. Raghavendra Rao, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Political science, spoke about the national integration.

Oath was administered to all those who were present by PrasannaSha, Assistant professor. Speaking on the occasion, RaghavendraRao.G.S, Assistant professor, said that the theme of the 2020 Human Rights Day is: Recover Better - Stand Up for Human Rights. The importance of human rights in re-building the world we want, the need for global solidarity as well as our interconnectedness and shared humanity is necessary during this pandemic.
Swamy Vivekananda Jayanthi& National Youth Week celebrations (Special Lecture)

Swami Vivekananda Jayanthi and National Youths Day Program was organized on 12.01.2021. It began with the prayer by first Year B.A. students. Mr. Manjunatha.K, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Kannada, welcomed the guests, teaching and Non-teaching staff, students. The program was inaugurated by offering flowers to portrait of Swami Vivekananda by the guests present on the dias.
Srinivasa Rao, Spiritual thinker, in his special lecturing briefed the students about the life history of Swami Vivekananda. During his speech he narrated how Narendra got inspiration from Swami Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and also about the Chicago Conference. He asked students to develop values in life by reading books on Swami Vivekananda.
Dr. Chandrashekarappa.S, Assistant Professor, Dept. of English, ended the program with vote of thanks to all those who were present and program anchoring was done by Raghavendra Rao G S, Assistant Professor and IQAC Co-ordinator.
National Voters Day (and Quiz Program)

National Voters day program was organized in the college on 25.01.2021. It was presided over by Lakshmana.E, Principal. Girish, Tahashildar, Davanagere Taluk, was the Chief Guest. An on spot quiz program was also arranged for the students by Electoral Literacy Club. Winners were given prizes by the Principal.

Speaking on the occasion, Girish, Tahashildar, Davanagere Taluk, asked the students to register themselves and advised them not to yield to any of the offers made by the candidates and to vote for that candidate who is going to serve the society. He also called upon the students get good education and to become responsible citizens of the nation.
Voter id cards were issued to the newly registered voters by Girish, Tahashildar, Davanagere taluk.
