“Our music is inspired by our lives and the world in which we live in. We do not need art-ists or bands influencing our way of making music. It’s not for us.”Through Chris Giles education, he was never really the cool kid.
Chris talks to us about how music has shaped his life, without the
necessary need of artists shaping his influence, He talks about
how music helped his life in all aspects of his life.
“If you want to know about my life, pick up a CD and there will
always be some sort of song talking about growing up”
King Noz, a new indie band
on the scene, have entered the
music world with a fresh at-
titude to life. Chris Giles, lead
guitarist, opens up to us about
the band.
Chris Giles, an ec-
centric 20 year old male lead
guitarist, sees himself as a bit
of a rebellious teenager, with
a love of music. As a school
child, he was always the odd
one out. He described herself
as an outsider of her school
peers. “While everyone had
the latest shoes, I was happy
in a pair of battered Doc-
tor Martin’s boots and stripy
socks.” The latest album, Cool
for School, was reflective of his
time at secondary school.
“My band members also went
to the same school as me, and
they too were outsiders. We
were never really the cool
kids. People judged us before
they even knew us.”
Home life for Chris was often
an issue also, Bina resulted to
singing and writing his own
lyrics about his childhood. “If
you want to know about my
life, pick up a CD and there
will always be some sort of
song talking about growing
up.”
For Chris, he lead a life of
mystery, growing up with three
older sisters with no recol-
lection of her mother, life was
always a struggle for him. His
music therefore esculated from
there.
So what about their influences?
“Our music is inspired by our
lives and the world in which
we live in. We do not need art-
ists or bands influencing our
way of making music. It’s not
for us.”Chris told us that he
was inspired by individual’s
and the way they think.
So what about the future for
King Noz? We asked Bina
about the gigs and any forth
coming albums.
“We hope to do a few more
gigs soon. We’re dueting with
Tempting Rosie in the summer.
As for albums, we are releas-
ing a new album soon called
Rumours. It should be an excit-
ing year,”
King Noz have been described
as an upbeat indie band, with
their complicated drum beats
and excit ing synths on the
keyboard. With their poignant
songs about life and love, who
could not resist their wonder-
ful music? Not us, that’s for
sure!
