Firebird

XfrogPlants Flowers 1 v.1 Firebird, model 2

From the comparison of these two Firebird models, we think that there is a close similarity between the two. Surely, we recognize that the Incredibles’ flower has a different texture, and that there is a slight difference in the tips of the bracteae, which in the XfrogPlants model are pointing upwards, but we think that the overall shape, arrangement and “character” of the two models are a real close match.

Firebird

Here too we can see a close match between the two flowers, for what regards the general arrangement of bracteae, the shape and the bending path of the stems, in particular of the one carrying the bracteae.

Firebird

Please compare Incredibles’ “1” model with XfrogPlants model 1 and Incredibles’ “2” model with XfrogPlants model 2. Apart from the fact that both Incredibles’ models show one couple more of “child” instances (bracteae), the close match of the shapes is undeniable. Incredibles’ 1 shows well not just the arrangement of the brac-teae but also their volume, as clearly matching XfrogPlants’ model 1. And Incredibles’ 2 even shows back the same, XfrogPlants-native upwards bending of the bracteae tips that was o-bviously removed from the previously shown models.

Bird of Paradise

Incredibles’ Birds of Paradise also show a “genetical proximity” with XfrogPlants’ models. There are three small differences in Incredibles’ shape, all easily identifyable, all very fast to make, with a couple of mouse clicks. One is the angle between the stem and the bulgy part, greater in the Incredibles’ model. Another is the width of the top petals, wider than XfrogPlants’, and finally, the surface of the incredibles model, made smoother by removal of displacement. The global shape and character, though, are clearly a close match, and there is some close match left in the details too, for instance, if you compare the leftmost orange petal in the Incredibles’ model with the one of XfrogPlants model 1, you can clearly see that they are identical.

Bird of Paradise

Here we compare the Birds of Paradise that are contained in a vase in the Incredibles movie, with a similar group that we as-sembled using the three models of XfrogPlants. If you keep in mind the three small differences we mentioned in the previous page (in particular, the angle between stem and bulge), it is fairly evident that the Incredibles’ models come from the same “mesh family” of XfrogPlants’.

Banana Plant XfrogPlants Tropical v.1 Banana, adult model

The Banana plant models in the Incredibles display a self-evident similarity with the Banana models of the very first version of XfrogPlants Basic library. You can verify at first sight by comparing the two models here. But what is really striking, is the fact that the first version of XfrogPlants Bananas was not as totally realistic as XfrogPlants models usually are, but was, somehow, stylized, in a very personal way, in the bending of the twigs and leaves. This makes the event of a casual combination de facto impossible. You may (although very rarely) happen to meet two very similar models made out of very similar but different natural shapes, but this casual event it’s not possible to happen when it means to end up almost identical to another man’s creation.

Another example where you can verify the close matching of the shapes and leaf arrangement.

Banana Plant

And one lest example, again self explanatory, notice in particular the indentical structure of the twigs and the way they depart from the stem’s, and bend, and the bend of leaves. The fact that in the Incredibles’ model there are more leaves, only means that a higher number of children was added to the Xfrog hierarchy. The fruits, too, although present in a different position, are most evidently and de facto identical, just compare the fruits twig of the Incredibles model with that of the XfrogPlants model (better visible in the previous page). To put it as a joke, the Incredibles’ bananas may be located on a tropical island, but they speak a perfect German ;-)
