Overview: Experience the contemporary regal luxury: It stands on its tracks; a gleaming sealed carriage, every bit is royal. The air-conditioning works silently, creating a space where only the excitement of the history of the Rajput kingdoms permeates through, clearly captured in a contemporary mode. The modern conveniences have been thoughtfully provided, sofas to sink into, strategically placed lights to read by, wonderfully appointed beds with comfortable furnishings, inbuilt wardrobes for the storage of one’s clothes and bags, and huge plate glass windows to watch the countryside roll past. Outside the bedrooms, each coach also has a seating lounge where passengers can get together, just sit watch the cities as they glide past outside the windows, or enjoy a quiet cup of tea. An attached pantry with each saloon helps provide beverages and refreshments to the accompaniment of soothing piped music.

There is the comfortable bar cum lounge where you can relax over your favorite drink, burrow in a book or converse with fellow passengers. Attached to it are two restaurant cars, Maharaja and Maharani respectively, with opulently draped curtains, exquisitely crafted lights and table settings. Here accompanying chefs serve up a delicious choice of Indian, including Rajasthani, Continental and even Chinese cuisine that are a feast for the palate.

The train chugs out of Safdarjung Railway Station New Delhi on a week-long run through Rajasthan every Wednesday night, with a trip also inbuilt to Agra and the Taj Mahal. Turban-wearing attendants take over from the moment you arrive at the platform, assigning you your coupes and detailing all the facilities that are on board. The train moves by night and arrives each morning at a new destination where new experiences await you.

Day by Day Program:

DAY 1 Wednesday: Departure Delhi 1800 hrs: Delhi you will be treated like Maharaja & Maharani on welcome by garlanding, Tikka and turban with glass of wine. The Capital city of modern India a city known for its rich valorous and exotic history. Once the fabled city of the heroes of the Mahabharata and ruled by the Rajputs before they were displaced by foreign invaders. The tour starts in the evening with a ceremonial welcome aboard the Palace on Wheels at Safdarjung New Delhi. You will be introduced to your fellow travellers. Feel free to explore your new palace, and acquaint yourself with its various facilities. Relax with a drink at the bar. Dinner will be served on board in its two restaurants.

DAY 2 Thursday: Jaipur 0345 hrs & Departure 2000 hrs: Jaipur your tour began at the Hawa Mahal Palace of wind followed the amazing Jantar Mantar-Astronomical Observatory are to be explored at leisure. The home of the erstwhile rulers. The city palace now a museum of full royal splendor. Jaipur also offers a great shopping experience since the city is the country’s capital as far as handicrafts are concerned. This includes a very extensive range as well as a major International center of cutting and polishing of Gems and stone. Also the Jaipur is known all over the world for hand block printing on textile. Lunch at Amber Fort. Soon after reaching at Amber you can enjoy the festively decorated elephant for a ride up to the fort. Lunch at Amber Fort. After lunch visit of Amber fort the best example of splendid fusion of Rajput and Mughal style of Architecture. DAY 3 Friday: Sawai Madhopur Arrival 0500 hrs. Departure 1020 hrs: Sawai Madhopur The Ranthambore tiger reserve at junction of the Aravali and the Vindhyas is a unique juxtaposition of natural and historical richness, standing out conspicuously in the vast, arid and denuded tract of eastern Rajasthan, barely 14 Kms from Sawai Madhopur. A 1000 year old Ranthambore Fort of great historical importance atop a high hill stand tall remain of the historical part cenotaphs, tombs, stepped well, summer palace etc, have all merged harmoniously in to the sprawling forest. Three big lakes- Padam Talav, Malik Talav and Raj bag- are alike turquoises studded in the vast tract. Though a delicate eco system, Ranthambore is dynamic in the diversity and density of fauna it supports. Tiger at the apex of the food chain lords over the kingdom in a subtle way solitary by nature. It operates with stealth.

Quite naturally tiger sighting are always a matter of chance, though evidences of its activities are equally exciting other then tigers you may have opportunity to see 24 different species of mammals, spotted deer, sambhar, wild boar, Indian Gazel, Jungle cat, Panthers, Jackal, Hynas Rarely sloth bears, also almost 300 different kind of birds.

Return back to Palace on Wheels for breakfast on board. Lunch on Board. Enjoy the afternoon on train as it travels the lush green country side before arriving to Chittorgarh.

Friday: Chittorgarh Arrival 1600 hrs & Departure 0200 hrs: Chittorgarh Fort is considered as the largest fort of India, built by various Mauryan rulers during 5th to 8th century period, this for covers an area of 680 acres most of the structures inside the fort premises are in ruins But a glimpses at this giant abodes of Rajput still fills on with thrill. Saturday: Udaipur Arrival 0800 hrs & Departure 1530 hrs: Breakfast on board. The capital of the Sisodia Maharanas, enjoy pre-eminent among the Rajput clams of Rajasthan spend the day sightseeing at Udaipur Maharana Udai Singh, Laid the foundation for a new kingdom Udaipur situated at Lake Pichola where the impressive city palace was lavished with aesthetic and imaginative work of art miniature painting was encouraged. Visit City Palace - now a museum, completely white & majestic, the royal palace stands on a hill. Surrounded by crenellated walls .It is a labyrinth of courtyards richly decorated with frescoes, temples and kiosks. The imposing City Palace, towering over the lake, is the largest palace complex in Rajasthan. Actually a conglomeration of buildings added by various maharanas, it still manages to retain a surprising uniformity of design. Building was started by Maharana Udai Singh II, the city’s founder. The palace is surmounted by balconies, towers and cupolas and there are fine views over the lake and the city from the upper terraces. Visit Sahelion ki bari - the exquisitely fashioned garden of maids of honor with fountains, a lotus pond chhatris & kiosks of black marble. This “Garden Of The Maids Of Honor” was built by Maharana Sangram Singh in the mid-18th century for the ladies of his maharani’s zenana. The garden is only about 3 km from the palace, and one can imagine a line of palkhis (palanquins) wending its way down to Sahelion-ki-Bari for a day spent languidly collecting armfuls of flowers, frolicking in the fountains, and exchanging the latest court gossip. Thereafter visit Crystal Galley - the single largest private collection of crystal anywhere in the world. The

visitors here are privy to one of the most exclusive and exquisite crystal collections. It was in 1877 that

Maharana Sajjan Singh (period of reign: 1874-1884) ordered the crystal collection from the Birmingham-based

F&C Osler company. The collection includes a bewildering number of objects d'art, dinner sets, perfume

bottles, decanters, glasses, washing bowls and even furniture. The Crystal Gallery also houses the only crystal

bed in the world! The collection has been customized for the House of Mewar; the Crest of Mewar being

delicately etched on the crystal, adding yet another amazing facet.

Boat ride on Lake Pichola. There is no more delightful way to see this city of lakes than to drift along these lakes, gentle and dreamlike, in a boat. While boating in Lake Pichola, you will see the City Palace and its crenellated walls, draped gracefully along a high ridge. You will see the Gangaur Ghat, where during the colorful Gangaur festival, Rajasthani women offer prayers for a good husband. You will also see the beautiful island palace of Jagmandir – a dedication to the Lord of the Universe. Sail through sylvan spot, waft along with a gentle zephyr, in this most romantic of palaces. DAY 5 Sunday: Jaisalmer Arrival 0915 hrs & Departure 1130 hrs: Jaisalmer The golden city of Rajasthan has a charm of its own, Rawal Jaisal a Bhati Rajput ruler founded the city in 1156 AD. The western most citadel of the desert, Jaisalmer has an ancient history linked with its development as a trading center. Located en-route one of the two passages that connected India with Persia, Egypt Africa and West. The Bhati Rajput sole guardians of the city accumulate enough wealth through tax levied on the passing carwans. Jaisalmer amid picturesque a marvel of beautiful culture and harsh climate conditions. The Sonar Qila Fort, made of yellow sand stone will immediately command your attention here. Lunch: Enjoy Rajasthani Food with traditional music.

DAY 6 Monday: Jodhpur Arrival 0700 hrs & Departure 1630 hrs: Special welcome on arrival and sightseeing of mighty fort. The city best known for its indigo-hued homes and buildings, Jodhpur is the former capital of the Marwar. The Mehrangarh Fort was built by Rao Jodha in 1459 and later his successions also added new structures. The forts are situated 120 meters high rocky hill, this fort is witness the lavish and royal history of Rathore. Fort stands on strong and wide walls, which are 20 to 120 feet high and 12 to 70 feet thick its gigantic structure and finely carved intricate sculpture are a treat for eye. The royal structure boast their own saga of security and beauty the pearl palace has a delicately carved stone screen, Umaid Vilas displays the Rajput miniature paintings and the Ajit Vilas exhibits musical instruments and the royal costumes. Shopping of local handicrafts. Umaid Bhawan Palace world’s finest and largest palace in the world Maharaja Umaid Singh utilized the services of a well known Edwardian architect, Henry Vaughan Lanchester for the construction of this palace. There are 347 rooms in the palace that boast about its grandness and splendor the central dome that has become the identity of the palace 110 feet high. DAY 6 Tuesday: Bharatpur Arrival 0500 hrs & Departure 0845 hrs: Bharatpur Jat History is not too old, with Suraj Mal establishing a firm stronghold in a region contested by both the Rajputs and the Mughals. Suraj Mal exploits are legendary, and the fort, Lohargarh, or Iron Fort, has a history that recounts it with pride. The only fort in the state to have bastions of mud, these proved meritorious because they simply swallowed up the cannon shells not allowing them to impact. The Keoladeo Ghana National Park is one of the finest bird sanctuary in the world was developed by a royal edict when dykes were created so that water could be canalized for the hunting preserve as the Maharaja of Bharatpur wished to create. Over 300 species of birds many of them migrant species that come from parts as distant as Siberia and China. Breakfast on board.

Day 7 Tuesday: Agra Arrival 1100 hrs & 1930 hrs: Agra - A visit to the world's most well known monument and well worth its fame. The Taj Mahal built in the memory of his beloved empress by emperor Shah Jahan, this marble mausoleum is the greatest gesture of love known to mankind and is breathtakingly, bewitchingly beautiful. Land for the building of the Taj Mahal in Agra came from the Maharaja of Jaipur and the marble used in its construction was from the mines of Makrana, also in Rajasthan. The precious stones used in its inlay, and the craftsmen employed for the twenty two years its construction took, came not only from India, but from all over the World. Lunch at Palace Hotel. The Taj Mahal is the perfect finale to your Royal Sojourn.

Day 8 Wednesday: Delhi Arrival 0400 AM: Breakfast on board. Checkout at 0730 hrs. Send off ceremony by General Manager CRO, New Delhi.

Tariff is inclusive of cost of travel and accommodation, catering, bottled mineral water (morning tea, breakfast, lunch, evening tea and dinner), conducted sightseeing tours in deluxe coaches, entrance fee for monuments and palaces and cultural entertainment. Tariff does not include liquor, laundry, video cameras and other items of personal nature. Charter can be booked in advance during X-mas & New Year period subject to 100% advance deposit with the additional 10% of the tariff at the time of booking during booking season. Booking is as per first come first serve, since the seats are limited kindly book in advance. The tariff shall be fixed and announced from time to time and can be changed without any prior notice.

Cancellation Policy: 5% of ticket value 60 days or more prior to departure. 20% of ticket value between 59 to 16 days prior to departure. 100% of ticket value 15 days prior to departure. Part Journey: Part journey of minimum 5 nights is permissible in advance. However in case of availability of cabins at the last moment it can be booked for any number of nights. For Charter Bookings:- Charter means booking of 52 cabins for POW on a particular tour departure. In case of charter booking by GSA's or any other source of booking 1% additional commission will be admissible at the end of the season. The charter can be booked on the existing POW tour itinerary. However, diversion (outside the Rajasthan State) in the approved itinerary may be permissible after prior approval of Indian Railways for which an extra payment of 20% of the charter value will be charged. Charter can be booked in advance during X-Max & New Year period subject to 100% advance deposit with additional 10% of the tariff at the time of booking during season. Booking & Payment Procedure: 20% of the ticket value at the time of booking. 80% of the ticket value prior to departure date. Procedure for confirmed bookings: First priority will be given to the confirmed bookings for full 7 night's tour. The details of the travelers will have to be provided with the final payment. Any change in the details shall be treated as cancellation and would invite cancellation charges as applicable. Once the names of the guests have been received, no substitution shall be permitted. The old name, if removed shall be treated as cancelled booking (subject to cancellation charges as applicable) and the new name/s will be treated as fresh booking and will be confirmed keeping in view the waitlisted bookings. Online Bookings: Online booking is also available for both the trains and entire capacity of the train will be on internet reservation system and full payment shall be charged through credit/debit card and 10% discount shall be available to guest on direct booking. No show/ En route termination of tour/amendment: No Show- In case of No Show/Non arrival of the guest, no refund or adjustment in future travel will be possible. The whole amount shall be treated as forfeited. However under the circumstances like Natural Disaster/Natural Calamity or Serious Health Problem's (this needs to be supported by doctor's certificate) will be forwarded to POW/RROW cell at HO Jaipur for final decision at the level of Managing Director. En route termination of tour: In case of termination of tour by the guest, for any reasons, no refund or adjustments for future travel will be possible. The amount for unused portion of the tour shall be treated as forfeited. Amendment: No charges will be levied for amending the date for one time subject to the availability of the seats and payment of difference of charges, if any.
