Date: 10.10.2015 & 11.10.2015 As the Institution have completed 50 years, it celebrated Golden Jubilee i.e., Suvarna
Sambhrama by inviting Hon‟ble Chief Justice of Supreme Court of India H.L. Dattu as a
Chief Guest of the Programme. On this occasion Hon‟ble Justice Billappa- Retired Judge of
High Court of Karnataka, Hon‟ble Ravi B. Malimutt- Retired Judge High Court of Karnataka,
Hon‟ble Narayana Swamy- Judge High Court of Karnataka, Sri. H. Anjaneya-Social Welfare
Minister, Sri. B. Chandrappa- Member of Parliament, Sri G.M. Siddeshwara- Minister
Central Government of India, Sri. H. Hanumanthappa, Former Rajya Sabha Member and
President of Saraswathi Education Society were present. Many other dignitaries and old
students of the Institution were special invitees. The programme started with the lighting of
the lamp by the Chief Guest. Beautifully and tastefully decorated Dias shook with clapping.
The programme was celebrated by organising various technical session on legal
aspects by Judges of High Court. Evening the cultural programmes by the Folk Artists were
made the occasion more attractive and enthusiastic. The function ended with the singing of
the National Anthem.

Date: 01.11.2015
Kannada Rajyothsava was celebrated in the Institution to denote the Unification of
Kannada speaking Regions of South India as the State of Karnataka. Prof. M.S. Sudhadevi,
Principal, Saraswathi Law College, Chitradurga and other teaching and non-teaching staffs of
the Institution were present on the occasion and showed respect towards Kannada Mathe.

The Student Law Forum, NSS, Legal Aid, Red Cross and Sports Activities
Inauguration programme was organized in Silver Jubilee Hall, Saraswathi Law College.
Hon‟ble B. Vastramatt, District and Session Judge inaugurated the programme and gave
inaugural speech. Dr. J. Kariyappa Maalige, Professor, Government Arts College,
Chitradurga was the Chief Guest of programme. Sri. Fathya Rajan, Senior Advocate and
Member, Saraswathi Education Society ® and Smt. D.K. Sheela, Senior Advocate and
Secretary, Saraswathi Education Society ® Chitradurga were the guests of the programme.
Presidential address was made by Smt. Prof. M.S. Sudhadevi, Principal, Saraswathi Law
College, Chitradurga.
National Legal Service Day
Date: 09.11.2015
National Legal Service Day was celebrated in the Institution under the theme „Justice
Delayed is Justice Denied‟. A special lecture by Prof. Sadiq Suheel Ahamed, Associate
Professor, Saraswathi Law College, Chitradurga was conducted on the theme of the day for
securing justice is not denied to any citizens by reason of economic or other disability. Prof.
M.S. Sudhadevi, Principal, Saraswathi Law College, Chitradurga and L. Srishyla, Assitant
Professor, Saraswathi Law College, Chitradurga were present on the occasion. The
programme was concluded by singing the National Anthem.
Workshop on Development of Leadership Quality
Date: 16.11.2015
The Institution organized a Workshop on „Development of Leadership Quality‟ in
association with Desh Pande Foundation, Hubballi. Krishna G. Programme Manager of
LEAD delivered speech on development of Leadership Quality in students and faculty. He
highlighted that Leadership skills play a large role in carrier development and to help them to
move forward in their carrier they will probably need soft skills.
Survey Conducted in Katthehole Reserve Forest

The faculties and 20 law students of the Institution conducted survey in Katthehole
Reserve forest to give awareness about facilities available to people who are living in this
area. The Institution submitted its report to District Administration regarding deficits of
ration card, widow pension, drinking water, schools etc.
World Social Justice Day
Date: 20.02.2016
World Social Justice Day was celebrated in Institution under the theme „A just
transition-Environmentally Sustainable Economics and Societies‟. A special lecture on
„Women and Social Justice‟ was delivered by Prof. Gayathri. P.C, Assistant Professor,
S.J.M Women‟s College, Chitradurga.
International Women‟s Day
Date: 08.03.2016
On the occasion of International Women‟s day it was planned to celebrate this day to
create awareness of women rights and empower women. Our beloved Principal Prof. M.S
Sudhadevi delivered speech on this occasion on the theme “Re-thinking Women‟s
Empowerment and Gender Equality”. She added that there is a need to create awareness of
Women Rights and Duties. We should also create a platform for improvement and
empowerment among themselves, aiming at intellectual and social upliftment of the female
students.

Dr. B.R. AmbedkarJayanthi was observed to commemorate the memory of Dr. B.R.
Ambedkar the Father of the Constitution of India. On 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr. B.R.
Ambedkar Prof. M.S. Sudhdevi, Principal, Saraswathi Law College presided over the
programme. She spoke about journey of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and motivated the students by
telling his inspiring stories. Many students shared their knowledge about Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
Labour Day and Special Lecture on Workmen Compensation Act
Date: 01.05.2016
The Institution organised Labour Day under the theme „Celebrating the
International Labour Movement‟. It marks a victory of workers‟ the movement for 8 hours
of work. It also aims to pay tribute to workers sacrifices in achieving economic and social
rights all over the world. A special lecture on Workmen Compensation Act was organised.
Sri. Lokesh, Secretary, Advocate Association, Chitradurga was the speaker of the
programme. He delivered special lecture on various provisions of workmen compensation
Act. He said that Workmen's Compensation Act, 1923 provides for payment
of compensation to workmen (or their dependants) in case of personal injury caused by
accident or certain occupational diseases arising out of and in the course of employment and
resulting in disablement or death. Prof. M.S Sudhadevi, Principal delivered presidential
speech. All the teaching and nonteaching staff and few students were present.
Suvarna Sambrama Law Fest 2015-16

This was conducted for 5 days. Several events were organized by different classes and
there was a dress code on each day. Various events were conducted successfully i.e., debate,

D. Devaraj Urs Sadbhavana Day was celebrated by planting Tree by Prof. M.S.
Sudhadevi, Principal, Saraswathi Law College, Chitradurga and lecturers and students in the
college campus. It was followed by flowering to the photo of Late D. Devaraj Urs, the
Former Chief Minister of Karnataka. H. Hanumanthappa. Ex-Rajya Sabha Member and
President, Saraswathi Education Society ® Chitradurga was the Chief Guest of the
programme. He spoke on life History of D. Devaraj Urs. Prof. M.S. Sudhadevi, Principal,
Saraswathi Law College, Chitradurga presided the occasion and spoke about the theme
„National Integration of Communal Harmony among People of all Religions, Languages and Regions‟ in the programme.

The Institution conducted a special Guest Lecture on „Gender Inequality has been a
Social Issue in India for Centuries‟, which was delivered by K.M. Thipperudramma,
Advocate, Chitradurga. She sensitized the students by giving information about the several
social issues faced by Indian Women and how to overcome it.

Inauguration of the Student Law Forum N.S.S, Red Cross Unit, and Human Rights
Cell for the year 2016-17 was organized on 07-10-2016. The Program was inaugurated by
Hon‟ble Justice S.B. Vastramatt, Principal District and Session Judge, Chitradurga. The
special guest of the programme was Sri Arun Rangarajan, I.P.S. Superintendent of Police,
Chitradurga. He shared his experience and inspire the student with motivational speech. Sri
C.M. Veeranna, Senior Advocate and Vice-President of Saraswathi Education Society,
Chitradurga and Sri Fathya Rajan, Senior Advocate and Member of Saraswathi Education
Society, Chitradurga were the special invitees for this program. They distributed prizes to the
winners of „Collage‟ competition which was organized by Saraswathi Law College on 29-09-
2016. The Student Law Forum members had been introduced to the guests on this occasion.
The presidential remark was given by Prof. M.S. Sudhadevi, Principal, Saraswathi Law
College, Chitradurga, which was followed by vote of thanks delivered by P.C.
Murugeshappa, Physical Education Director, Saraswathi Law College, Chitradurga.
Workshop on Soft Skills

The Institution organised Workshop on Soft Skills by Dr. Sundar Anantharaman . He
said soft skills are combination of people skill, social skill, communication skill,
characteristic, attitudes, carrier attributes, social intelligence and emotional intelligent which
enable people to effectively navigate their environment, work well with others, perform well
and achieve their goals. Hence, the soft skills are most essentially required to the students.
NSS Special Camp at DANDINA KURUBARA HATTY VILLAGE –

An Annual Special Program of NSS was conducted from 21-10-2016 to 27-10-2016
in Dandina Kurubarahatty Village, Chitradurga Taluk. This was organized by Saraswathi
Law College organizing committee in which 25 students along with faculties participated.

On 25 October 2016 at 6.30 pm. Conference was organized by NSS Unit on the topic
Right to Education. Dr. N.D. Gowda, Assistant Professor, Saraswathi Law College presided
over the function. Dr.Kariyanna. K.S. Assistant Professor, Saraswathi Law College delivered
on special lecture on Right to Education. J. M. Mahalingappa, Ex-President,

Awareness on Female Feticide:

At 6.30 pm. Health Awareness Program was organized by NSS. Dr. K.P. Mallappa,
Gynaecologist, D.K. Hatty was presided over the function. Dr.Devaraja. S.H. Children
Specialist were the Special Invitee of the program. Awareness was created on Female

Apart from the above, NSS candidates conducted regularly various programs like skit,
debate, to create awareness to the people. Legal and Health Awareness was created by
presentation of drama.
The valedictory function was conducted on 27-10-2016. Prof. M.S.Sudhadevi,
Principal, Saraswathi Law College presided over the function, SannakiMallesh, S.C.
Ramamurthy, H. Thippeswmy, TalavaraBheemappa, Anjappa. M. Nagarajareddy,

A Workshop on Legal Symposium of facilities available from the
Government
Date: 22-10-2016
A Workshop on Legal Symposium of facilities available from the Government was
organized by District Legal Service Authority, Advocate Association, Challakere in
Association with Saraswathi Law College, Chitradurga at P. Mahadevapura, Challakere
Taluk on 22-10-2016.
The programme was inaugurated by Hon‟ble Justice L. Narayanaswamy, High Court
of Karnataka. Hon‟ble Justice S.B. Vastramatt, District and Session Judge, Chitradurga the
President of Legal Service Authority, Deputy Commissioner, Chitradurga and
Chandrashekaran. P, Regional Transport Officer, Chitradurga were present on this occasion.
Hon‟ble Justice L. Narayanaswamy spoke on various facilities available from the
Government. The facilities like Widows Pension, Senior Citizen Pension, Motor Vehicle
License etc., were also been provided to the Villagers.
Legal Awareness and Survey conducted in Gonuru,
Nandipura & G.R. Halli Villages.

As per the instructions of the University, a two days survey was conducted by the
final year and second year students of LL.B and B.A.LL.B on 2.11.2016 and 3.11.2016 in
and around Gonur, Nandipura, G.R-21 Halli, Maadanayakanahalli, Bharamasagara,
Hireguntanuru, Byalahalu, Yalagodu villages. In the survey, the students visited door to door
and enquired about the Driving Licence, Ration Cards, Adhaar Cards, Widows Pension and
explained to the villagers about the facilities extended by the Government. They explained to
them the benefits to be obtained from Legal Services at District level and Taluk level.
National Legal Service Day and Blood Donation Camp
Date: 09-11-2016
National Legal Service Day was celebrated and a Blood donation Camp was arranged
at Silver Jubilee Hall Saraswathi Law College, Chitradurga. The event was celebrated in
order to increase the Legal awareness among people and to ensure better Justice Delivery. In
association with Medical College, Basaveshwara Hospital, Blood identification at Blood
Donation Camp was organized. Many students and staff members of the college donated the
blood.
Inter-College Men‟s Volley Ball Tournament and University Selection
Date: 11-11-2016 & 12-11-2016
On this day Inter-College Men‟s Volley Ball Tournament was organized in
association with K.S.L.U. Hubballi in Old Middle High School ground, Chitradurga. Sri G.H.
Thippareddy, M.L.A, Chitradurga inaugurated programme by leaving the birds to fly. 18
teams from different colleges affiliated to K.S.L.U were participated. Programme was
concluded by distributing prizes to winners of the Tournament by Sri B.N. Chandrappa,
Member of Parliament, Chitradurga.
Kannada Rajyostava

The Institution organized 60th
Kannada Rajyostava programme. The Programme was
inaugurated by Dr. Siddalinga, Associate Professor, Department of History, Vani Sakkare
Government First Grade College, Hiriyur. A special guest of the occasion was Dr. B.M.
Gurunath, Member, Karnataka Yakshagana Bayalata Academy, Bangalore. He delivered
speech on speciality of Kannadanadu and Nudi and how long we are using Kannada
language. He highlighted importance of protecting and respecting Kannada language. The
programme was presided by Prof. M.S. Sudhadevi, Principal, Saraswathi Law College,
Chitradurga.
International Human Rights Day
Date: 10-12-2016
International Human Rights Day celebration was made under the theme “Stand up
for someone‟s Rights today‟ and Empower Women”. A special lecture was organised on
the topic „Violence Against Women at Work Place: A Human Right Perspective‟ which
was delivered by K.A. Nagaraja Reddy, Advocate, Chitradurga.
World Social Justice Day

World Social Justice Day celebration was made under the theme „Closing the
Inequalities gap to achieve Social Justice‟. A special lecture was delivered on the theme by
Dr. S.R. Lepaksha, Assistant Professor, Govt. Arts College (Autonomous), Chitradurga. He
addressed the gathering and said the importance of Social Justice Day and recognizing the
need to promote Social Justice, which includes efforts to tackle issues such as poverty,
exclusion, gender equality, unemployment, human rights, and social protections. Prof. M.S.
Sudhadevi, Principal, Saraswathi Law College, Chitradurga and Dr. N.D. Gowda, Assistant
Professor, Saraswathi Law College, Chitradurga were present on the occasion.
Minchu Law Fest
Date: 27-02-2017 to 04-03-2017
Law Fest was conducted for a week and several competitions were organized by the
students. Law Fest will be conducted every year by college in order to develop the students
skill and ability and giving an opportunity to exhibit their talents with object of all-round
development of the students. In this fest various competitions like Written Quiz, Debate,
Drawing, Essay Writing, Singing, etc., were conducted. Few competitions theme was based
on Gender Equality.

International Women‟s Day was celebrated under the theme „Women in the
Changing World of Work: Planate 50-50 by 2030‟. On the Eve of Women‟s Day a special
lecture was organized by Institution. Smt. Suman Angadi, Associate Professor, S.J.M. Law
College, Chitradurga and Dr. Kariyanna. K.S. Assistant Professor, Saraswathi Law College,
Chitradurga delivered special lecture on empowerment of Women and Law relating to
Surrogacy in India. Prof. M.S. Sudhadevi, Principal, Saraswathi Law College, Chitradurga

The Institution celebrated 126th
Birth Anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in the
auditorium. On this occasion Students Law Forum of the Institution had organized a special
lecture by Prof. Anjinappa, H.P.P.C. College, Challakere. He spoke about early life and
education of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and focused on empowerment of the poor and the
marginalised using information and communication technologies to achieve the goals of Dr.
B.R. Ambedkar.
International Labour Day

International Labour Day was celebrated to pay tribute to workers‟ sacrifices in
achieving Economic and Social Rights all over the World. A special lecture was delivered by
P.N. Shiva Kumar, Advocate, Chitradurga on „Welfare provisions relating to women

The Institution celebrated Raksha Bandhan Festival. On this occasion Kumari Kanaka
akka from Prajapitha Brahmakumari, Eshwari Vidhyalaya, Chitradurga. Delivered a special
lecture on meditation to attain self-confidence. She said that meditation is useful for reducing
level of stress and it can even help us to build better brain. She also said that mediation has
ability to transform how you see yourself and can boost self-confidence.
Sadbhavana Divas

On the occasion of 73rd
birth anniversary of Prime Minister, Late Rajiv Gandhi, the
Institution observed Sadbhavan Divas on 21st August 2017. A pledge takings ceremony was
conducted at 10.00 am. Prof. M.S. Sudhadevi, Principal, Saraswathi Law College,
Chitradurga oriented the students and staff regarding the importance of observing Sadbhavan
Divas by highlighting, to avoid the violence and promote goodwill among people. The talk on
communal harmony by Sri P.C. Murugeshappa, Physical Education Director, Saraswathi Law
College, Chitradurga was delivered. In his speech he emphasized on the importance of
coherence among the different religion.
Teachers Day
Date: 05.09.2017
The students of the Institution organized Teachers‟ Day celebration under the theme
„Empowering Teachers‟ as a mark of tribute to the contribution made by teachers to the
society. After the prayer, respected Principal, Prof. M.S. Sudhadevi delivered a memorable
speech and officiated the opening ceremony. Then few students shared their regards for their
favourite lectures and said that student always look forwarded to Teachers Day with a lot of
anticipation, for the spirit of the occasion. They coated that acting as teachers, they get
dedication to be a good teacher and earn the affection of students at the same time. All of us
have been students at some stage of our life and have benefited from our teachers.
Celebration of Teachers Day is a wonderful opportunity especially for all of us to show our
gratitude and appreciation to our teachers. Few students even added that - Teachers play a
major role in making their students as responsible citizens of tomorrow and good human
beings. Then all lecturers one by one had spoken on this occasion.
Inauguration of Students Law Forum, NSS, Legal Aid, Red Cross & Sports
Activities Cum Fresher‟s Party
Date: 15-09-2017
The Institution organized inauguration of Students Law Forum, N.S.S., Red Cross,
Legal Aid Cell and Human Rights Cell in the college at 10.00 am. On the same day, the
senior students had organized fresher‟s party to their juniors at 1.00 p.m. The programme was
started traditionally by singing regional anthem. Then guests were heartily welcomed by Dr.
D.B. Ravikumar, Assistant Professor, Saraswathi Law College, Chitradurga. Later the
programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp with the background song sung by
Tejeswini, 3 years, I year LL.B., student.
As an Hon‟ble President of Students Law Forum Prof. N.D. Gowda, Assistant
Professor, Saraswathi Law College, Chitradurga, introduced his team i.e., Members of
Students Law Forum and said about the activities to be conducted under this unit.
Chief Guest of the programme was B.N. Chandrappa, M.P. Chitradurga, addressed
the gathering and motivated the students by sharing his experience. Special guest of the
programme was Prof. B.S. Reddy, Former Registrar Evaluation, K.S.L.U., Hubballi, and
Principal of R.L. Law College, Davanagere.

The Institution organised guest lecture on the topic „Gender Awareness Rising Aims
at Increasing Gender Sensitivity understanding and knowledge about Gender Equality‟,

As vibrant as the City of Fort Chitradurga is, the Law Fest of Saraswathi Law
College, Chitradurga is too vibrant and glittering. College Festivals are the most effective
way of bringing under the same platform, enhance social interaction and facilitate exchange
of cultural idea and thought. The event was diligently organized from 23-10-2017 to 28-10-
2017. Various events i.e., written quiz, debate, singing, quiz, skit, dance, etc., have been
organised the entire week giving opportunity to all the students to open up the talents. The
program was inaugurated by Prof. M.S. Sudhadevi, Principal, Saraswathi Law College,
Chitradurga. A befitting valedictory ceremony held on 28-10-2017.

Rastriya Sankalpa Divas– Indira Gandhi Death Anniversary

The Instituttion celebrated Rastriya Sankalpa Divas. This day was also been
celebrated as National Re-Dedication Day in the memory of our Former Prime Minister Smt.
Indira Gandhi, it is to remember the dynamic leadership qualities of the first women Prime
Minister and crucial role of Smt. Indira Gandhi. This being the national function, floral
tribute was been offer to late Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi followed by two minutes
homage to the departed soul. Following two minutes homage silence, a pledge was
administrated by our beloved Principal, Prof. M.S. Sudhadevi to all those present in the
auditorium. Later few students gave speech about Indira Gandhi. Lastly Prof. M.S.
Sudhadevi, Principal, Saraswathi Law College, Chitradurga gave the presidential remark.
Programme was concluded by delivering vote of thanks.

among the students. On this occasion the floral tribute was made by the Principal, teaching

Smt. D.K. Sheela, Senior Advocate and Secretary of Saraswathi Education Society,
Chitradurga delivered a special lecture on law of maintenance in the Institution at 11.30 a.m.
She spoke on law of maintenance under Hindu Law, Muslim Law, Christian Law and under
Cr. P.C. She covered quantum of maintenance, maintenance of children, parents etc., She also
gave examples of several cases which she had dealt.

International Women‟s Day Celebration

The Institution had organized International Women‟s Day under the theme „Time is
now- Rural and Urban activities transforming Women‟s Lives‟ at S. Nijalingappa
Memorial Hall, Sibara, Chitradurga in Association with S. Nijalingappa Memorial Trust (R.),
Government of Karnataka, Kannada and Cultural Department, District Women Advocate
Forum, District Legal Service Authority and Advocate Bar Association, Chitradurga. The
programme was inaugurated by Hon‟ble Justice S.B. Vastramatt, District and session Judge,
Chitradurga. He said that a single movement can spark revaluation, collective action can
transform laws, creative expression can change attitudes. As a mark of great feminine
personality we extended honour to the special invitees Miss Channamma Hallikere, 2017
Gandhi Shanthi Awardee and Smt. Meenakshi Hooja, Former Chief Secretary, Government

An Annual Special Program of NSS was conducted from 26-03-2018 to 01-04-2018
in Kyadigere Village, Chitradurga Taluk. This was organized by Saraswathi Law College
organizing committee in which 25 students along with faculties participated. The program
was inaugurated by Smt. Ningamma, Member, Taluk Panchayath, D.S. Halli. Prof. M.S.
Sudhadevi, Principal, Saraswathi Law College, Chitradurga presided over the function. Smt.

The Institution organized inauguration of Student Law Forum, N.S.S, Legal Aid Cell,
Red Cross Units and Sports Activities for the year 2018-19. The function was held under
the presidentship of respected Principal Smt. M.S. Sudhadevi. The programme was
inaugurated by Srinath. M. Joshi, Superintendent of Police, Chitradurga, Dr. Nagaraj,
Professor in Criminology, Chitradurga, Sri C.M. Veeranna, Government Pleader and Vice
President of Saraswathi Education Society and Smt. D.K. Sheela, Senior Advocate and
Secretary, Saraswathi Education Society were present on this occasion. Chief Guest of the
occasion addressed the gathering. Dr. Nagaraj delivered speech on discipline to be
maintained by law students and advocates and enlightened student‟s knowledge. Prof.
M.S. Sudhadevi delivered presidential speech.
Legal Awareness Programme on ERADICATION OF CORRUPTION: TO
BUILD A NEW INDIA

On this day the Institution in association with the District Police Authority organised
a Legal Awareness Programme on Eradication of Corruption - Build a new India”. District
Police Authority conducted Debate Competition to law students. Many students were
participated in essay competition. Shruthi and Bhavana of Final Year LL.B got 1st Prize and
Thriveni and Pushpanjli of Final Year LL.B got 2nd

competition. Prizes were distributed by senior Police Officer, Department of Police,
Chitradurga. Traffic Inspector created awareness about traffic rules and regulations to the
staff and students. Prof. M.S. Sudhadevi addressed the gathering by delivering the speech on
Eradication of corruption.
Constitution Day

Constitution Day or Samvidhan Divas which is also celebrated as National Law Day
to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. On this occasion the Institution
had organised procession to give awareness about the Fundamental Rights available under the
Constitution particularly with respect to Arrest and Detection.
International Human Rights Day

The International Human Rights Day was celebrated in the Institution. A special
lecture on „Let‟s stand up for Equality, Justice and Human Dignity‟ was delivered by Sri

World Social Justice Day was celebrated under the theme „If You want Peace and
Development Work for Social Justice‟ by organising guest lecture on the theme. Siddappa.

Survey and Legal Awareness conducted in Madakaripura Village

February 2019 Final Year students of the Institution conducted survey and
Legal awareness in Madakaripura Village, Chitradurga to collect information about the
people who are not facilitated from the Government schemes like Widow Pension, Handicap
Pension, Old age Pension etc., All the members of faculty of Saraswathi Law College,
Chitradurga along with students participated in the Survey.
International Women‟s Day

The Institution organized the International Women‟s Day under the theme “THINK

World Water Day focuses on the importance of the fresh water this celebration rises
awareness of the people limiting without access to safe water. This year theme „Leaguing no
one behind, adopts the central promise of the 2030 agenda for sustainable development
that as sustainable development progresses, everyone must benefit‟. On this occasion
Water Purifier Plant was inaugurated which was sponsored by Sri B. Chandrappa, Member of
Parliament under M.Ps Grant.

The Institution organized one day workshop on “Samvidana Angikara” in
collaboration with District Legal Service Authority, Chitradurga, Advocate Association,

NSS SPECIAL ANNUAL CAMP at Topuramaalige Village.

The Institution organised Special Annual Camp at Topuramaalige Village,
Chitradurga from 22-4-2019 to 28-4-2019. Few students of the Institution participated in this
camp and cleaned school compound, road and drainage. Every evening legal awareness
programme to the villagers were organized by Saraswathi Law College, Chitradurga in
association with District Legal Service Authority, Chitradurga to enlighten the knowledge of
villagers on various legal aspects like Right to information, Hindu Marriage Act, Right to
Education, Women Empowerment etc.

The Institution organised a special lecture on Importance of Legal
education in India by Somashekar V, Advocate, Chitradurga. While addressing
the gathering he said that, Law is important for the society as it serves as a norm
of conduct for its citizens. Literally, legal education serves the society by
imparting law student‟s general and cultural education, making them good law-
abiding citizens. Such legal education instils the significance and relevance of

Zonal Youth Festival, (Bangalore Zone –II) 2019-20 was organized by
the institution in association with Karnataka State Law University, Hubballi
from 22-11-2019 to 23-11-2019. Students of Seven Law Colleges from
Bangalore Zone – II were participated in the various events like music, dance,
literary event, theatre, fine arts. The Programme was inaugurated by Dr. B.

Human Rights Day is celebrated on December 10th
every year and
proclaims the basic rights everyone is inherently entitled to as a human being
irrespective of race, colour, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion,
national or social origin, property, birth or other status.
This year‟s theme for Human Rights Day is „Stand Up for Human
Rights‟. It is to spotlighting the leadership role of youth in collective
movements as a source of inspiration for a better future.

At 6.30 pm The Awareness Programme on General & Life Insurance was organized
by NSS Unit, Saraswathi Law College, Chitradurga. There was a special lecture on General
& Life Insurance delivered by V. Somashekar, Oriental Insurance Company, Chitradurga.
Dasappa, Venkatesh, Hanumanthappa, G.B. Boraiah, Thippeswamy, Bosaiah, Ombalappa
and other leaders were present on the occasion.
Apart from the above, NSS volunteers conducted various programmes regularly in the
camp like skit, debate and games for children and villagers.
The valedictory function was conducted on 05-03-2020. Prof. M.S.Sudhadevi,

The Institution in association with KILPAR, Bangalore and District Legal
Service Authority, Chitradurga organised One Day State Level Workshop on
POCSO Act. Hon‟ble Justice S.B. Vastramatt, Principal Secretary, Department
of Law, Government of Karnataka, Bangalore inaugurated the function. Hon‟ble Justice S.Y. Vatavati, District and Session Judge, Chitradurga, presided over the
function. H.K. Jagadeesh, Special Secretary, Department of Law, Vidhana
Soudha and Director of the KILPAR, was the special invitee of the function.
Smt. R. Vinoth Priya, District Commissioner, Chitradurga, Smt. Sathyabhama,
C.E.O. Zilla Panchayath, Chitradurga, Smt. Radhika. G. Superintendent of
Police, Chitradurga, T. Nagendrappa, Vice-President, Advocate Association,
Chitradurga, were the special invitees of the function. Few persons from Police
Department, Prosecution Department and Advocates were present on the
occasion. There was a technical sessions on following topics.
1. History, Object and Bird Eye View of POCSO Act
2. Role of Investigator, Prosecutor and Judges.
3. Role of Women and Children Development Department.
There was an interaction with the speakers. Hence, this program was
organised on the occasion of International Women‟s Day it is a pivotal for advancing gender equality. The Speech was also delivered on the theme “I am Generation Equality: Realizing Women‟s Rights”. The Programme was
successfully completed by Vote of thanks.

Date: 10.10.2015 & 11.10.2015 As the Institution have completed 50 years, it celebrated Golden Jubilee i.e., Suvarna
Sambhrama by inviting Hon‟ble Chief Justice of Supreme Court of India H.L. Dattu as a
Chief Guest of the Programme. On this occasion Hon‟ble Justice Billappa- Retired Judge of
High Court of Karnataka, Hon‟ble Ravi B. Malimutt- Retired Judge High Court of Karnataka,
Hon‟ble Narayana Swamy- Judge High Court of Karnataka, Sri. H. Anjaneya-Social Welfare
Minister, Sri. B. Chandrappa- Member of Parliament, Sri G.M. Siddeshwara- Minister
Central Government of India, Sri. H. Hanumanthappa, Former Rajya Sabha Member and
President of Saraswathi Education Society were present. Many other dignitaries and old
students of the Institution were special invitees. The programme started with the lighting of
the lamp by the Chief Guest. Beautifully and tastefully decorated Dias shook with clapping.
The programme was celebrated by organising various technical session on legal
aspects by Judges of High Court. Evening the cultural programmes by the Folk Artists were
made the occasion more attractive and enthusiastic. The function ended with the singing of
the National Anthem.

National Legal Service Day

National Legal Service Day was celebrated in the Institution under the theme „Justice
Delayed is Justice Denied‟. A special lecture by Prof. Sadiq Suheel Ahamed, Associate
Professor, Saraswathi Law College, Chitradurga was conducted on the theme of the day for
securing justice is not denied to any citizens by reason of economic or other disability. Prof.

programme was concluded by singing the National Anthem.

Survey Conducted in Katthehole Reserve Forest

The faculties and 20 law students of the Institution conducted survey in Katthehole
Reserve forest to give awareness about facilities available to people who are living in this
area. The Institution submitted its report to District Administration regarding deficits of
ration card, widow pension, drinking water, schools etc.

International Women‟s Day

On the occasion of International Women‟s day it was planned to celebrate this day to
create awareness of women rights and empower women. Our beloved Principal Prof. M.S
Sudhadevi delivered speech on this occasion on the theme “Re-thinking Women‟s
Empowerment and Gender Equality”. She added that there is a need to create awareness of
Women Rights and Duties. We should also create a platform for improvement and
empowerment among themselves, aiming at intellectual and social upliftment of the female
students.

On these date there was a Women Mock Parliament organized by K.L.E. Law
College, Bangalore in association with KILPER. From our college 5 students were
participated in Zonal Level Women Mock Parliament held in K.L.E. Law College,
Bangalore. Out of 5 students, 4 were selected for State Level Women Mock parliament which

Labour Day and Special Lecture on Workmen Compensation Act
Date: 01.05.2016
The Institution organised Labour Day under the theme „Celebrating the
International Labour Movement‟. It marks a victory of workers‟ the movement for 8 hours
of work. It also aims to pay tribute to workers sacrifices in achieving economic and social
rights all over the world. A special lecture on Workmen Compensation Act was organised.
Sri. Lokesh, Secretary, Advocate Association, Chitradurga was the speaker of the
programme. He delivered special lecture on various provisions of workmen compensation
Act. He said that Workmen's Compensation Act, 1923 provides for payment
of compensation to workmen (or their dependants) in case of personal injury caused by
accident or certain occupational diseases arising out of and in the course of employment and
resulting in disablement or death. Prof. M.S Sudhadevi, Principal delivered presidential
speech. All the teaching and nonteaching staff and few students were present.

A Workshop on Legal Symposium of facilities available from the Government was
organized by District Legal Service Authority, Advocate Association, Challakere in
Association with Saraswathi Law College, Chitradurga at P. Mahadevapura, Challakere
Taluk on 22-10-2016.
The programme was inaugurated by Hon‟ble Justice L. Narayanaswamy, High Court
of Karnataka. Hon‟ble Justice S.B. Vastramatt, District and Session Judge, Chitradurga the
President of Legal Service Authority, Deputy Commissioner, Chitradurga and
Chandrashekaran. P, Regional Transport Officer, Chitradurga were present on this occasion.

As per the instructions of the University, a two days survey was conducted by the
final year and second year students of LL.B and B.A.LL.B on 2.11.2016 and 3.11.2016 in
and around Gonur, Nandipura, G.R-21 Halli, Maadanayakanahalli, Bharamasagara,
Hireguntanuru, Byalahalu, Yalagodu villages. In the survey, the students visited door to door
and enquired about the Driving Licence, Ration Cards, Adhaar Cards, Widows Pension and
explained to the villagers about the facilities extended by the Government. They explained to
them the benefits to be obtained from Legal Services at District level and Taluk level.

National Legal Service Day was celebrated and a Blood donation Camp was arranged
at Silver Jubilee Hall Saraswathi Law College, Chitradurga. The event was celebrated in
order to increase the Legal awareness among people and to ensure better Justice Delivery. In
association with Medical College, Basaveshwara Hospital, Blood identification at Blood
Donation Camp was organized. Many students and staff members of the college donated the
blood.

The Institution celebrated Raksha Bandhan Festival. On this occasion Kumari Kanaka
akka from Prajapitha Brahmakumari, Eshwari Vidhyalaya, Chitradurga. Delivered a special
lecture on meditation to attain self-confidence. She said that meditation is useful for reducing
level of stress and it can even help us to build better brain. She also said that mediation has
ability to transform how you see yourself and can boost self-confidence.

The Institution organised guest lecture on the topic „Gender Awareness Rising Aims
at Increasing Gender Sensitivity understanding and knowledge about Gender Equality‟,
which was delivered by H.R. Nethramma, Advocate, Chitradurga. While addressing the
gathering she coated some inspirational provokes to empower girl students by claiming their

Arushi Law Fest 2017-18

As vibrant as the City of Fort Chitradurga is, the Law Fest of Saraswathi Law
College, Chitradurga is too vibrant and glittering. College Festivals are the most effective
way of bringing under the same platform, enhance social interaction and facilitate exchange
of cultural idea and thought. The event was diligently organized from 23-10-2017 to 28-10-
2017. Various events i.e., written quiz, debate, singing, quiz, skit, dance, etc., have been
organised the entire week giving opportunity to all the students to open up the talents. The
program was inaugurated by Prof. M.S. Sudhadevi, Principal, Saraswathi Law College,
Chitradurga. A befitting valedictory ceremony held on 28-10-2017.

Rastriya Sankalpa Divas– Indira Gandhi Death Anniversary

The Instituttion celebrated Rastriya Sankalpa Divas. This day was also been
celebrated as National Re-Dedication Day in the memory of our Former Prime Minister Smt.
Indira Gandhi, it is to remember the dynamic leadership qualities of the first women Prime
Minister and crucial role of Smt. Indira Gandhi. This being the national function, floral
tribute was been offer to late Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi followed by two minutes
homage to the departed soul. Following two minutes homage silence, a pledge was
administrated by our beloved Principal, Prof. M.S. Sudhadevi to all those present in the
auditorium. Later few students gave speech about Indira Gandhi. Lastly Prof. M.S.
Sudhadevi, Principal, Saraswathi Law College, Chitradurga gave the presidential remark.
Programme was concluded by delivering vote of thanks.
Special Lecture on Law of Maintenance
Date: 02-11-2017
Smt. D.K. Sheela, Senior Advocate and Secretary of Saraswathi Education Society,
Chitradurga delivered a special lecture on law of maintenance in the Institution at 11.30 a.m.
She spoke on law of maintenance under Hindu Law, Muslim Law, Christian Law and under
Cr. P.C. She covered quantum of maintenance, maintenance of children, parents etc., She also
gave examples of several cases which she had dealt.
National Legal Service Day
Date: 09-11-2017
On the occasion of National Legal Service Day a procession of Saraswathi Law
College students had been organized from the College to District Court to give awareness
about law and Legal Aid to public. Later the Institution organised a programme in „Vakilara
Bhavan‟ in association with District Legal Service Authority, Lawyers Association, Boys
Junior College, Chitradurga. The programme was inaugurated by watering the plant by
Hon‟ble Justice S.B. Vastramatt, Principal District and Session Judge, Chitradurga. N.B.
Vishwanath, President, District Advocate Association was the Chief Guest of this
programme. Hon‟ble Justice S.B. Vastramatt, while addressing the gathering he appreciated
Saraswathi Law College and our students for assisting to conduct survey in P. Mahadevapura
village, Challakere Taluk, Chitradurga. He also delivered a special lecture on Constitution
with reference Women‟s Rights. The programme was concluded by vote of thanks by Miss

An Annual Special Program of NSS was conducted from 26-03-2018 to 01-04-2018
in Kyadigere Village, Chitradurga Taluk. This was organized by Saraswathi Law College
organizing committee in which 25 students along with faculties participated. The program
was inaugurated by Smt. Ningamma, Member, Taluk Panchayath, D.S. Halli. Prof. M.S.

World Water Day

World Water Day focuses on the importance of the fresh water this celebration rises
awareness of the people limiting without access to safe water. This year theme „Leaguing no
one behind, adopts the central promise of the 2030 agenda for sustainable development
that as sustainable development progresses, everyone must benefit‟. On this occasion
Water Purifier Plant was inaugurated which was sponsored by Sri B. Chandrappa, Member of
Parliament under M.Ps Grant.

The Institution organised Special Annual Camp at Topuramaalige Village,
Chitradurga from 22-4-2019 to 28-4-2019. Few students of the Institution participated in this
camp and cleaned school compound, road and drainage. Every evening legal awareness
programme to the villagers were organized by Saraswathi Law College, Chitradurga in
association with District Legal Service Authority, Chitradurga to enlighten the knowledge of
villagers on various legal aspects like Right to information, Hindu Marriage Act, Right to
Education, Women Empowerment etc.

Legal Awareness on „Gender Equity‟ through Drama

The students of the Saraswathi Law College, Chitradurga were performed Drama to
create awareness on „Gender Equity‟ among the villagers.
Apart from the above, NSS unit conducted various programmes to create awareness to
the villagers. Legal and Health awareness programmes were conducted by presenting Street
Drama.
The valedictory function was conducted on 28-04-2019. Prof. M.S. Sudhadevi,
Principal, Saraswathi Law College, Chitradurga presided over the function. Sri Prasanna,
Advocate, Thopuramaalige, Sri Manjunathreddy, Pradeep, T.N. Babu, Shivanna,
Mohanreddy and others were present on the occasion.
Labour Day

Labour Day was celebrated under the theme „Sustainable Pension for all: the role of
partners‟. It focused on the improvement of the condition of the workforce. A special
lecture on „Maternity Benefits under Labour Laws‟ was organised in the Institution which

President Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. On this special day, students cherish the
contribution of teachers in making their life better and shaping their behaviours
according to societal prospects. The day also has a lot of history and
significance attached to it.

A Guest Lecture was organised on the topic „Provisions Relating to
Women & Child under Indian Constitution‟ by Fazeela Banu, Advocate,
Chitradurga. She highlighted the fundamental rights and special provisions
regarding women and child under it. On this occasion Prof. M.S. Sudhadevi,
Principal and Smt. S.M. Harsha, Assitant Professor, Saraswathi Law College,

The Institution in association with several Chitradurga Degree Colleges
organised Baa Bapu-150 and Vinobha Bhave - 155 Programme in the presence
of Divya Sanidhya Dr.Shivamurthy Murugharajendra Sharanaru, S.J.M. Mutt,
Chitradurga. Prof. P. Eshwara Bhat, Vice-Chancellor, K.S.L.U, Hubballi
inaugurated the programme. Prof. Dr.Sharanappa V. Halase, Vice-Chancellor,
Davanagere University, Davanagere was the Chief Guest of the programme. On
this occasion Mathoshree Channamma Hallikere was been honoured for her
achievements. There was a special lecture by Prof. G.N. Mallikarjunappa,
Retired Principal, Chitradurga. Sri H. Hanumanthappa, Rajya Sabha Member,
President, Saraswathi Education Society presided over the function.
Zonal Youth Festival ( Bangalore Zone II)
Date: 22-11-2019 & 23-11-2019
Zonal Youth Festival, (Bangalore Zone –II) 2019-20 was organized by
the institution in association with Karnataka State Law University, Hubballi
from 22-11-2019 to 23-11-2019. Students of Seven Law Colleges from
Bangalore Zone – II were participated in the various events like music, dance,
literary event, theatre, fine arts. The Programme was inaugurated by Dr. B.
Rajashekharappa, Retired Principal, Kannada Rajyotsava Awardee – 2019. Dr.
G.B. Patil, Registrar, Evaluation, and Director of Students Welfare, K.S.L.U.,
Hubballi was the Chief Guest of the programme. H. Hanumanthappa, Rajya
Sabha Member, President, Saraswathi Education Society and D.K. Sheela,
Senior Advocate and Secretary, Saraswathi Education Society were the Chief
Guests of the programme. Smt. M.S. Sudhadevi, Principal, Saraswathi Law
College presided over the function.
On 23-11-2019 Valedictory function of Zonal Youth Festival (Bangalore
Zone-II) was organized in Saraswathi Law College, Chitradurga. Prof. B.S.
Reddy, Principal of R.L. Law College and Former Register Evaluation,
K.S.L.U. Hubbali delivered Valedictory speech, M.S. Sudhadevi, Principal,

Constitution Day
Date: 26-11-2019
On the eve of Constitutional Day “Read the Constitution” programme
was organized by the Institution. Few students gave speech on Constitution.
Prof. Smt. M.S. Sudhadevi delivered presidential speech, which was followed

World AIDs Day

World AIDs Day will be celebrated every year on 1st December. It‟s an
opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, to show
support for people living with HIV, and to commemorate those who have died
from an AIDS-related illness. It was observed under the theme „Ending the
HIV/AIDS Epidemic: Community by Community‟. A special lecture on

Human Rights Day is celebrated on December 10th
every year and
proclaims the basic rights everyone is inherently entitled to as a human being
irrespective of race, colour, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion,
national or social origin, property, birth or other status.
This year‟s theme for Human Rights Day is „Stand Up for Human
Rights‟. It is to spotlighting the leadership role of youth in collective
movements as a source of inspiration for a better future.

The Institution in association with District Legal Service Authority,
Chitradurga and Advocate Association, Chitradurga organized Workshop on
Child Friendly Legal Service to Children and their Protection Scheme -2015
and POCSO Act. Hon‟ble Justice S.Y. Vatavati, District and Session Judge
inaugurated function and spoke on Child Friendly Legal Service to Children and
their protection Scheme 2015. Girish. B.K, Principal Secretary, District Legal
Service Authority, Chitradurga was present. Smt. D.K. Sheela, Senior Advocate
and Secretary, Saraswathi Education Society, Chitradurga delivered speech on
issues and challenges of POCSO Act. This programme created awareness to the
students and faculty of Saraswathi Law College about Service available to the
children under District Legal Service Authority and issues and challenges of
POCSO Act.

promote social justice, which includes efforts to tackle issues such as poverty,
exclusion, gender equality, unemployment, human rights and social protections.

NSS Special Camp Inaugural Programme
An Annual Special Program of NSS was conducted from 28-02-2020 to 05-03-2020
in Hale Dyamavvanahalli Village, Chitradurga Taluk. This was organized by Saraswathi Law
College organizing committee in which 25 students along with faculties were participated.
The program was inaugurated by Sri H. Hanumanthappa, Former RajyaSabha Member,
President, Saraswathi Education Society, Chitradurga. Prof. M.S. Sudhadevi, Principal,
Saraswathi Law College, Chitradurga preside over the function. Smt. D.K. Sheela, Advocate
& Secretary, Saraswathi Education Society, Chitradurga was the special invitee of the

Health Check-up Camp

At 10.00 a.m. Free Health Check-up Camp was organized by the Institution, NSS
Unit in association with Akshay Global Hospital, Durga Laboratory and Smile Dental Care,
Chitradurga. Dr.Ramu, Dr.Pranitha conducted Health Check-up to the villagers and many
leaders of Hale Dyamavvanahalli were present.
Conference on the Goal of Student Life

At 6.30 pm. Conference was organized on goal of student life by NSS Unit. S.R.

Awareness Program on General & Life Insurance:

At 6.30 pm The Awareness Programme on General & Life Insurance was organized
by NSS Unit, Saraswathi Law College, Chitradurga. There was a special lecture on General
& Life Insurance delivered by V. Somashekar, Oriental Insurance Company, Chitradurga.
Dasappa, Venkatesh, Hanumanthappa, G.B. Boraiah, Thippeswamy, Bosaiah, Ombalappa
and other leaders were present on the occasion.
Apart from the above, NSS volunteers conducted various programmes regularly in the
camp like skit, debate and games for children and villagers.

State Level Workshop on POCSO ACT

The Institution in association with KILPAR, Bangalore and District Legal
Service Authority, Chitradurga organised One Day State Level Workshop on
POCSO Act. Hon‟ble Justice S.B. Vastramatt, Principal Secretary, Department
of Law, Government of Karnataka, Bangalore inaugurated the function. Hon‟ble Justice S.Y. Vatavati, District and Session Judge, Chitradurga, presided over the
function. H.K. Jagadeesh, Special Secretary, Department of Law, Vidhana
Soudha and Director of the KILPAR, was the special invitee of the function.
Smt. R. Vinoth Priya, District Commissioner, Chitradurga, Smt. Sathyabhama,
C.E.O. Zilla Panchayath, Chitradurga, Smt. Radhika. G. Superintendent of
Police, Chitradurga, T. Nagendrappa, Vice-President, Advocate Association,
Chitradurga, were the special invitees of the function. Few persons from Police
Department, Prosecution Department and Advocates were present on the
occasion. There was a technical sessions on following topics.
1. History, Object and Bird Eye View of POCSO Act
2. Role of Investigator, Prosecutor and Judges.
3. Role of Women and Children Development Department.
There was an interaction with the speakers. Hence, this program was
organised on the occasion of International Women‟s Day it is a pivotal for advancing gender equality. The Speech was also delivered on the theme “I am Generation Equality: Realizing Women‟s Rights”. The Programme was
successfully completed by Vote of thanks.
