End User “Weather Feedback” via Mobile
The IWR product supports all of the most popular login authentication protocols (see technical details below).
Once logged in, users will report the weather conditions at their location by making selections from predefined lists and form fields.
The IWR application will automatically compute their precise location, or a user can manually enter their current address if their device is not able to be geo-located. Guest users must also provide an email address.
Administrators Decision and Analytics Suite
As end users enter weather data into the IWR during an adverse weather event, HR managers will be able to see the data on a customized map that provides a real-time view into the severity of the road conditions and other weather details as reported by users. The map shows color-coded bubbles that are geospatially accurate and that fade away over time, so decision makers can instantly see an up-to-date map of all vital weather data.
IWR Suite Multiple Customized Map ViewsDifferent map views of the underlying weather report data could be created to service different end user audiences. For example, one map view could be made available to registered users (such as school admins, public safety officials, or teachers) and would show all weather data, while a different “public” view could be given to all end users, showing only weather report data that had been pre-approved. Automated Recommendation SystemThe IWR will automatically make recommendations to HR and IT managers based on customizable thresholds for volume and severity of weather data. Single-Click Decision CommunicationHR and IT managers will be able to communicate a “office open / closed” decision to everyone via a single-click push notification. Ability to tie into third party communications platforms will be supported, as well. Reports and AnalyticsVarious reports could be generated from the raw weather data, such as: which users are the most active reporters; which users are the most/least reliable reporters; what types of devices are being used to submit weather reports; which areas of the city or county are most impacted by adverse weather, on average; how many reports have been submitted per day/month/year, etc. Instant Replay ModeRewind the last few hours on a timeline to see how the weather conditions unfolded hour-by-hour during the weather event. This not only helps with making a calculated open/close decisions, it also helps to publicly display a strong historical (over multiple hours) rationale for
