On 06/30/13 at 2:51 a.m. I was called to the North entrance of Regional West

Medical Center for a report of an intoxicated male walking around the

premises. Upon arrival I had contact with Jeremie Steyer. Jeremie stated he

had been drinking and sleeping in a van with a friend in the parking lot. I

then agreed to take Jeremie home. I then looked in the van and had contact

with a male who identified himself verbally as Mark Cross. Officer McPherson

then ran Mark for wants and warrants. The Communications Center informed us

that Mark had an active warrant from Scottsbluff. Mark was then handcuffed

and transported to the Scottsbluff County Jail.

I responded to 1206 10th Avenue in reference to an intoxicated male that was

out of control. I arrived and was escorted downstairs of the residence where

I observed the male being held/restrained by his father. The male said that

he didn't care and was going after it hard tonight and would kill everyone.

The male smelled heavily of an alcoholic beverage and he was slurring his

speech as well. The occupants of the residence did not want the male there in

this agitated state as he kept trying to cause disturbances. The male had

nowhere else to go and to keep the peace in residence I placed the male in a

Protective Custody Hold and he was transported to the Scottsbluff County

Jail.

On 7-1-2013 I observed Adrian Valdez driving a blue minivan. I was aware that

there were active warrants for his arrest. The blue minivan came to a stop in

the driveway of 1724 12th Avenue. I made contact with the residents and

Adrian Valdez was located inside. The warrants were confirmed through the

communications center. I transported Valdez to the Scotts Bluff County

Detention Center. Here Probation Officer Brandon Cowan approved placement for

On 7-1-2013 I was dispatched to ABC Seamless in reference to a found bicycle.

Upon arrival I made contact with the reporting party Frederick Bohnsack.

Bohnsack advised upon arrival to work he located a bicycle in the business’s

large metal dumpster. The bicycle was identified as a Next Brand Power

Climber. The bicycle is 18 speed bicycle white and purple in color. The rear

tire rim is bent. The bicycle has a black seat and black pedals. I serial

number on the bicycle was identified as SL03375471. I checked with the

communications center and the bicycle had not been reported as stolen. The

bicycle was taken and placed into evidence under control # 46692.

On 06/30/13 Fertig came to the Ringdown to report a theft from Tansides

Professional Plaza where he is currently working as a contractor. Fertig

advised that he had just purchased a paint sprayer and it was taken from the

work site after it had only been used once. Fertig advised that there are a

lot of other contractors working on the site so he could not say who might

have taken the sprayer. There is no further information at this time.

An employee of Poncelet turned the keys he picked up after they fell off the

back of a pickup truck ten days ago. Poncelet has listed the keys in the

newspaper and on the radio to no avail. On this date she turned them in to

the police. Two car keys, one fob, and what appears to be a house key and a

On 7/2/13, Inv. Brunz ran a license plate on a vehicle and the Comm Center

advised that the Registered Owner of the vehicle has a warrant out of Buffalo

County. Inv. Brunz watched the vehicle until I could get to the area. I was

able to locate the vehicle leaving the McDonalds Drive-thru. The vehicle was

stopped after we were given a description of Dustin who was the male with the

warrant. I contacted the driver and advised him that the registered owner of

the vehicle had a warrant. Dustin said that was him and provided me with his

driver's license. Comm Center confirmed the warrant and Dustin was arrested

and transported to the Scotts Bluff County Detention Center without incident.

On the above date, near 27th Street & 19th Avenue, I initiated a traffic stop

on a white dodge truck for having a broken left tail light cover. The

taillight was allowing white light to be visible from the rear of the

vehicle. I contacted the driver, Shane Groskopf and advised him about the

taillight. I asked Shane for his driver's license and he gave me his NE

operator's license. A records check through dispatch showed that Shane's

driving privileges are suspended. Shane was subsequently cited for the same.

Brian Beck reported that overnight an unknown person used a yellow grease

pencil to write "AB2 Crew" on the driver's window of Brian's pickup. Brian

speculated that this could be harassment from a former employer that he has a

pending lawsuit against. A suspect was identified.

Service was requested at 47 Marcus Drive in reference to a theft from a motor

vehicle. Carla Garcia was contacted at the residence. Garcia advised two of

her vehicles had been entered (see vehicle information), and wallet items and

CD wallet were stolen from inside the vehicles. There was a total loss of

approximately $40.00. Items 1-5 were stolen from vehicle 1. Item 6 was stolen

from vehicle 2. There were no signs of forced entry due to the vehicles being

I observed two individuals go into the alley behind the 18th Street Bar and

Grill, when they did not exit the alley I went to investigate what they were

doing. The males then ran north from me and a foot pursuit ensued. Officer

Lopez and I were able to take the individuals into custody in the 1900blk of

Avenue A. One male was identified as Nathaniel Long who had a juvenile

warrant. Nathaniel was handcuffed. Juvenile probation was contact the warrant

was confirmed and Nathaniel was transported by Officer Rodriguez to Regional

West Medical Center for scrapes he sustained during the foot pursuit then

transported to JDC.

I observed two juvenile's on a bike in the 1800 block of Ave A. Upon trying

to approach them for identification, the two juvenile males dropped the bike

and fled on foot north on Ave A. The juveniles were apprehended and

identified as Abraham Lane and Nathaniel Long. Lane and Long were issued

citations for curfew violations.

While traveling southbound on 1st Avenue I observed a white minivan with a

female driver, whom I recognized. I knew the female did not have an

operator's license. I advised Officer Hansen who stopped the female in the

1700 block of Avenue B and contacted the occupants. I arrived at the traffic

stop and observed Katie Doup whom I know from previous contact. Through a

check of her license status I learned that her license was suspended. I

issued Katie a citation and she was released. Citation number A2356202.

Gurrola called for an Officer after seeing a male, later identified as Little

Wolf, falling down and loosening his pants in the mentioned area. On arrival

he was found on the ground, unable to stand. He was transported to his

residence and family there advised they did not want him there and that he

I was requested by Officer Howton to utilize PSD Riki for a Canine Drug Sniff

on a vehicle he had pulled over. Officer Howton advised he asked for consent

but they denied consent to search the vehicle. Officer Howton told me that

the driver is wearing a hat with drug emblems on it and the passenger has a

criminal history for drug possession. I deployed PSD Riki and conducted a

sniff of the outside of the vehicle. PSD Riki did not show and alerts or

was in the back with the shoplifter. I went to the back of the store where I

Parrish called for an Officer after following a shoplifter as he ran from the

store. In the parking lot the suspect got into a vehicle and left the area.

His statement was taken, which included a license plate number of the vehicle

involved and the name of another party that had been in the store with the

On the above date, I was dispatched to 2404 Avenue A in reference to an

unknown male banging on the front door. I contacted Joseph Anaya outside the

residence with a red BMX bicycle. Anaya was intoxicated and didn't know where

he was at the time. I asked the home owner, Michael Dunn if the bicycle was

his and he stated "no." Anaya denied knowing anything about the bicycle. No

actual possession of the bicycle could be made between Anaya and the bicycle.

Anaya was subsequently released and the bicycle was taken as found property

and placed at station 2. The bicycle is a spray painted red NEXT brand,

20" BMX style with four pegs. The bicycle was originally green.

On 07/09/13 at approximately 10:51 p.m., I was dispatched to 1308 E. Overland

in reference to some males smoking marijuana. Upon arrival contact was made

with one of the males identified as Thomas Jimenez Jr., (DOB 05/07/65). I

checked Thomas for warrants and communications advised Thomas did not have

any warrants for his arrest. Approximately 1/2 hour (10:34 p.m.) after

leaving 1308 E. Overland communications advised that Thomas Jimenez (DOB

05/07/65) has a warrant for his arrest and the warrant was confirmed. At this

point Sgt. Straub and I contacted Thomas at 1206 10th Ave. Thomas was

handcuffed, double locked, and transported to County Jail.

On 7/1/13, I responded to 2414 Ave. G in reference to a PlayStation 2 that

was found in the garbage can. I checked with the Communication Center and

there are no wants on the system. Brenda said that she was taking her garbage

out and saw the PlayStation in her dumpster. Brenda has a rollout dumpster

that belongs to her house only. Brenda said that she wanted to call it in

just in case it was stolen or something. The PlayStation was brought back to

the Police Station and entered into evidence as found. With the PlayStation

was 1 controller, a headset, a network adaptor, 2 power cords, a cable

adaptor, a RCA adaptor and an RCA cord.

I was dispatched to Gasamat for a gas drive off and made contact with

employee, Nichole. Nichole said the pickup is around a 96 single cab pickup

that is gold on the top half and black on the bottom part. Nichole said she

couldn't get the front plate number due to another customer vehicle parked in

front of the store. Nichole said the vehicle drove off from pump three and

she couldn't read the rear plate, because it was beat up. Nichole said the

vehicle left eastbound on S. Beltline without paying for $77.00 dollars of

gas. Nichole said she never saw the driver or occupants, but stated the

pickup is a work truck due to the beat up condition.

Banks came to the Police Department to report his British Passport missing.

He stated that he had lived at 1315 W. 42nd St. back in September of 2012 and

then moved to his current address. Just prior to the move he said that he had

seen the passport and since moving into his current residence he has not been

On 7-12-2013 I observed Leonires Perez Jr. walking near 34 Terry Blvd. I was

aware that there were active warrants for his arrest. I made contact with

Perez and confirmed his date of birth. Three active warrants were confirmed

through the communications center. Perez was placed into handcuffs which were

double locked and checked for fit. Perez was transported to Scotts Bluff

County Jail without incident. The warrants were for failing to pay judgments

on minor in possession, larceny, and driving under suspension. A backpack

belonging to Perez was released to his father.
