ThoughtsThoughtless thoughtsHidden deep withinWhether deliberateOr deludingNon shall ever know
Human thoughtsOh! so fragileLike a broken glassFragments strewnFrom side to side
Some thoughts emerge to floutOn another’s emoted painWhile other’s thoughts are penitentNot wanting to cause disarray
The mind whichControls good and badRampage not and pryOn another’s precious life
Conscious be ye thoughtless mindOn humans, beasts,And nature alikeConquer not this beautiful worldWith an evil thought of thineMaketh ye this opulent worldA better place for every precious human race
Dilrukshi De Silva
Heartfelt admiration,Silent expectationsFor the unseen, well- knownDazzling charm of Snow Queen,Controls North WindTo enrich earth for SpringAs our Granny said,You are the source of life. But poor GrannyShe is unlearned,Amidst the mighty economists, engineers and politicians. However so far,The earth is nurtured, of course,We all survived of course!ButBlinded with curiosity,Intellectual planningPlaced a step beyond reality. To appease craving eyes, the mission started.Snow is melting,Dazzling snow beauty,Don’t be scared.Snow walls, arches,Floating snowflakes,Freezing fogPolar bear’s lazy gamesCertainly bid adieu soon.Dear Queen,Don’t be scaredA fabulous, transparent cubicleWith AC and Snow,Neatly arranged and amazingly cute,Only for you,to make you a real queen. How marvelous it is?Only for you,Dazzling peace, insideOur craving eyes, tooRest in peace, outside.

I am the darknessIn the moonless starless nightBe thou the Arundathi starEmitting refulgence, far far away.I am the infertile parched sandy wasteRemaining in an expansive stretchBe thou the sparkling brookFlowing through.I am the rugged threeExposed to summer's ravages,With withered leaves blown awayBy the blowing wind.Be thou the unseasonal rainComing down in torrents.I am the thorny plantRemaining forlorn upon the hillock,Silhouetted against the ceruleanMid-day sky, bereft of blossomsBe thou the blooming blossomReplete with fragrance.I am the lonelinessFlung into the vortex of desolation.Be thou the directorOf the flashing gloryOf thy gazelle eyes in my direction. How could I recompense O!Such gesture of magnanimityAnd gifts of incalculable value,Rendered poor as I am, all that I've hadHaving been taken away in stealthBy my providence, save the heart.I shall offer thee in returnThe chaste fullness of my heartWhich is not used to laughterBut to tears.

Incantation
Please listen to my heartCan you hear how it humsFlowers going to be witherThe sunshine has diedDarkness enclosedSky is ready for the rainIn my compoundI can see a red pomegranateThough my innocent birdie Is going to be a bride

The whine of crickets in the night outsideAnd the hum of mourningSets the rhythmFor a single low flameWhich lights the vigil for the deadChallenging the darkness of a power cutThrowing shadow flicker imagesOn to the simple, cement flooredThatched four wallsSurviving the gusty gurgle ofA generator being fixedA moth unto the low-licking flameIn a drunken spiralUpon the search of lightSpins closerAnd closer to redemptionFinally, a moment of truthBecoming one with the flameSlowly feeding itAnd wrinkling into a speck of ashWhirling down the abyss of deathThe connection madeCFLs light up againAnd a symbol for the deadSinks into oblivion unnoticedA comparison for the deadWho looked for redemptionDown the mouth of a drinking well.

Redemption
Always when I think to live in the skyI remember youYou triedto go on the wallLike a geckoBut you still holding a dark memorywhich buried underthe harvestBy my legs in old placeYou on the wall with meMade a nest by nylonIf I think to give up youI would become a tear falling fromYour eyeI rememberyour smileYou eat some thingI do somethingNothing to do for nothingnessNothing prepares meFor love or happinessI should hold skyYou will flyEvenwithout wingsThen we will meetOnce againThen we will stopOur smile? Tear?Notour fear.
Impact we will liveIn the sky one day.
