ITINERARYD1 LIMAOn arrival in Lima, you receive assistance at the airport and are transferred to your selected hotel. Rest of the day is free at leisure to get to know the city.Optional activity: City tour: Cathedral, Casa Aliaga and Larco Museum

D2 Lima – Cusco (75 mins flight time) CITY TOUR AND ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITESPick-up after breakfast and transfer from your hotel to Lima Airport to catch a flight to Cusco. A meet and greet service on arrival is followed by transfer to your selected hotel. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided tour of this charming city, which was the capital of the Inca Empire. The tour starts with a visit to Santo Domingo Convent, a large Renaissance-baroque complex, which was built over the Inca Qoricancha temple. It was one of the most important temples dedicated to the worship of the sun and its foundations are still prominent at the base of the convent. Ancient chronicles say the temple was covered in gold leaf and filled with golden representations of nature. Continue to the Plaza de Armas to visit the cathedral. It features an elaborate Renaissance façade and, like other important monuments in the city, was built over a demolished Inca temple. Head to the hills above Cusco to visit the remains of the fortress of Sacsayhuaman, whose imposing ramparts offer a stunning panoramic view of Cusco, the ruins of temple and amphitheater of Qenqo, where it is believed the Incas practiced agricultural rituals. Finally, visit Puka Pukara (‘Red fortress’ in Quechua) an Inca military complex located on a prominent hill. Its dwellings squares, bathrooms, aqueducts, walls and towers can still be appreciated. Return to and drop off at your hotel.

D3 CUSCO – AWANAKANCHA – PISAC – OLLANTAYTAMBO – SACRED VALLEYEnjoy breakfast at the hotel before departing for the Urubamba River valley, which is popularly known as the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The first stop is at Awana Kancha (‘weaving palace’ in Quechua) a farm-cum-zoo where endemic Andean camelids are bred. Learn about llamas, alpacas and vicuñas, which are friendly and domesticable, and which have wool with very strong fibers, which are used to weave ponchos, chullos, and other garments. Continue to Pisac, a historic town on the valley floor, to wander through its market. Break for lunch is a local diner before continuing to late Inca period Ollantaytambo fortress, which controlled access to the Sacred Valley. The site is a huge archaeological complex which, although it is known as a ‘fortress’, was actually a tambo, a leisure city used to accommodate delegations that traveled long distances. Drop off at your selected hotel.
