DGFIEND WILLOW DEBRIEFING:

1. Willow Team exfiltrated at 0400 hours On September 12, approximately10 days prior to schedalad exfiltration ,aue to gun battles on 9 and 10 Sept-ember with members of the security forces and volunteers. The team was re-turned to Athenson 16 September from the border area.

2, Willow Tree was able to service the in pick up point but due to theabove mentioned trouble was unable to make two more pick ups scheduled for 11 •and 12 September.

BCFIEND WILLOW TEAM DEBRIEFING . PART I

Following is information gathered through the dead-letter- drops and dateof event:

1. 27 Auzust. At 0400 hours an airplane was seen heathng over.Erseke.The plane crossed the Greek border. Type of plane unknown. A red lightwhich flickered on and off was visableo

- 2. 30 August. Two leaflets ware picked up which had been dropped oia4August. At the Goce post Tallow was able to pickup 5 newspapers.

3. 1 September. The people of the Gore area were gathering to electcouncils in the various towns snd villages.

4. 29 August. It was reported that pursuit units were chasing a groupin the Elbasan area. Armed civilians were picked up in the various towns toaid in the Chase.

5. 29 August. A 3 man Tugoslav team was ambushed. One man was Jr9ledone captured, the third man was believed to have crossed back in Yugoslavia.No further information about this team was known.

6. 1 August. A camp site was being started in Ivarisht informantsbelieve it was being set up to accommodate 1 battalion of74001diers whowould undertake special treeing.

7. 2 August. Police in the whole area were making arrests of allpersona who were unable to met their state quotas.

1 8. 5 August. Heavy patrol action reported in the Gore-Pogradeo-Horoaareas.

9. 10 jay. 'Coco Laska,director of the Korea Cooperative, was arrestedfer embezzlement of cooperative funds.

10. 15 jay. The police forces in the Lojan area began picking upforced laborers for the Nati eleotic project. Only women and young girlswere being taken.

11. 7 August. A gun battle took place between a Yugoslav patrol andthe Albanian security forces, One Albanian Lt. (NU) and three soldiers were

s reported killed.

12. 17 August. A Tugoslav patrol kidnaped two girls from the villageof Tren. The victims were released two days later.

13. 18 August. It was reported that Albanian security forces buildingconcrete dugouts to be used for storage of arms and ammo at ppar. Russianofficers are reported to be the over-seers of the project.

14. 20 August. ThaHoiha Government mobilized the 1931 birth group (class)and older persons for a two month refresher training period.

15. 28 August. In the town of Velma (Gore) a reserve officer and hiswife were arrested for having given aid to "reactionary teams".

16. 30 Aumst. Heavy patrcling action reported in the Gore, Opar andMallqi areas.

17. 29 August. It was announced that all persons must register for atype of travel document. The document would be required for all travel withinthe country. Any person traveling would be required to have the destination ofhis trip noted on the document by the president of the local council. Uponarrival at his destination he must report to the president of the council whonotes time and date of arrival, reason for travel, time and date of expecteddeparture.- The travel document is then held by the president of -the counciluntil subject t s day of departure. The particular document wouldOPt25.1ek.

The travel documents had not gone into effect as of 10 September due tothe lack of proper stamps.

18. On or about 31 July. Captain Tefik Cangoji was killed by thesecurity forces. Two of his close friends were sentenced to life imprisonment.Cangoji and his friends were reported to have had close association withreactionaries.

19. The Liberza Ustarak is no longer being issued to soldiers uponcompletion of their military service. It has been replaced by a letterwhich states that the bearer has completed his tour of duty.

BGF1END WILLOW TEAM DEBRIEFING - BUT II

Following is information obtained by teamembers through personal contacts:

I. The bleurimi is now reported to be paying large sums of money tovarieus peoole in order to learn the whereabouts of "reactionay teams".

2. source reported that arms had been distributed again to the faith-ful of the party oja 1 September.

3. Three persons were arrested in Treeova for having given .aid to .Western sponsored teams. They were arrested by the Lojan Sigurimi. Personsarrested were:

4. On 4 July KaramenPetriti, from Schoze, and all the members of hisfamily were erfested in connection with the disappearance of Ali Petriti,Karamen's brother. They were imprisoned for 24 days and then released. Al].personal belongings of the family were confiscated. Ali Petriti exfiltratedwith Willow on 9 July.

5. On 7 September a group of 15 men were reported operating in Soujan.

6. Two Party members were ktlled in the Korea area by nistake on thenight of July U. The meeting had lasted until midnight and 7as existingregulations require all persons to be in their homes by 2400 hours the policeaccidently Shot two persons on their way home.
