2019 FALL FEST VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

We’re already planning an awesome Fall Fest for next school year

and we need help with the following: Games, Cake Walk, Craft,

and Basket chair. If you’re open to either chairing* one or helping

in any capacity, please email [email protected].

*Chairing is a small commitment of planning and then just setting up and

helping with other volunteers the night of the event. You’d have time to go

around with your own family as well while the volunteers cover.

ROXBURY SPRING FUNDRAISER

WHAT - We are proud to partner again with Foertmeyer & Sons Greenhouse for the Spring sale. We will be selling Pollinator Pals, plants, veggies, fruits & herbs, and candles!

WHEN - The sale will run from April 4-23. On April 4, our fundraising directors, Charlie and Roberta, will be coming to present a live kick-off assembly to refresh the students about our sale and inspire them to help our school. The students will then be sent home that afternoon with the order form packets.

WHY - Money raised by the fundraiser helps the PTA to pay for new indoor recess storage/transport bins and new goods to fill them up! We will be purchasing new games, puzzles, toys, art supplies, and small space fine/gross motor equipment to support and entertain our students on those rainy, cold, snowy recesses spent indoors! Please contact Jill (below) if you have any specific suggestions/ideas!

HOW - Please consider supporting the fundraiser via: • DONATIONS: Spring cleaning? Please consider donating your gently used

board games, books, craft/jewelry/art supplies, balls, creative movement/dance props, puzzles, storage bins/containers, etc. to Roxbury! We will collect goods on Friday, May 10 during school hours and at the evening pick-up time from 5-7pm.

• PARTICIPATING IN THE FUNDRAISER: Roughly 30% of sales go back to the school. Submit your order form (sent home with your child) and payments by 4/23.

o Orders will be ready for pick-up on Friday May 10 from 11-1pm and 5-7pm. (JUST IN TIME FOR MOTHER’S DAY WEEKEND!)

Thanks in advance for your participation! Feel free to contact me with any questions. Jill Kopittke – Fundraising Chair - [email protected]

The PTA would like to thank you for

your support and interest in the Fall’s

unique Mumkins and Mumsters

Foertmeyer & Sons Fundraiser! We

found it to be a huge success and so

much fun for students and families

alike. Hope you and yours enjoyed the

spook and sights of your mums!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION & REMINDERS

Photo ID: It is now policy to present a photo ID when you come into the school. Please refer to the Family Handbook for further information.

School Dismissal

• Car Pickup: Please remember to enter Solon Blvd from Arthur Road instead of Inwood Dr. That way the car pickup line can be on the same side of the street as the school and no one needs to turn left into the school. This will help with the traffic flow after school.

• Walkers: Please remember to pick up your students either across Solon Blvd or at the Roxbury School sign. The teachers are responsible for getting the students to the sign and will not release them to parents standing at the door.

• After School Care Centers: Please remember to contact your after-school care centers with your changes in dismissal plans. The centers tend to call the schools when a child does not arrive as scheduled.

Facebook: If you are on Facebook, please consider joining the Roxbury PTA group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/RoxburyPTASolon/). We will post our sign-ups on this group when we are looking for volunteers. For the safety and privacy of our children, only Roxbury families will be permitted in this group. If you send a request to join and are not approved right away, check your Facebook messages. We will be double-checking all new member requests to ensure that they have children at Roxbury.

Yearbook: If you take photos at any school event, please send them to [email protected] to be included in the yearbook. We would like to have as many kids represented in the yearbook as we can!

Parking: When coming to school, please do not park in the front drive before 8am or after 2pm. Please park in the side lot or on the side ABC streets. Please do not park on Solon Blvd in front of the school at any time.

Birthday Policy: Treats and trinkets will no longer be allowed to be brought in to celebrate your child’s birthday. The school is recommending that you send in a book for your teacher’s classroom library. Please refer to your Family Handbook for further information.

Doctor/Dentist Appointments: Please remember to bring a note from your child’s doctor/dentist if your child will be missing any part of the school day.
