Partner Case Study (Wipro) An Indian private sector bank operating in treasury, corporate/wholesale banking and retail was faced with a problem – random transaction failures in ATMs. The customers were, obviously, dissatisfied and many were switching to other banks. The bank wanted to overcome this hurdle quickly, and while doing so, also wanted to improve customer satisfaction, loyalty and bottom-line performance. Wipro was approached for a solution.

Wipro’s Application Management and Infrastructure Services Management began by analysing the problem, and threw it open to their start-up partner, Vunet, taking into consideration their infrastructure and application monitoring correlation capabilities. Vunet, from its arsenal, took out VuSmartMaps – a big-data-based analytics solution that proactively detects and finds solutions. It gathered machine data across ATM networks and got it under a single dashboard. Correlations were drawn, gathering deep insights into the problem.

The platform’s capabilities such as anomaly detection, machine learning and intuitive visualisation enabled the analysts to zero down on the problem. It was found that the problem was at the queuing system of the core banking application and a solution was built. With the implementation of the solution, the bank witnessed a decline in failed ATM transactions and an improvement in customer experience.

Wipro, by placing its trust on a start-up, had expedited problem solving and managed to add new capabilities for service delivery to complement its existing strengths.

Testimonial by Ashwin Ramachandran, co-founder & CEO of Vunet: “Our relationship with Wipro started through the Open Innovation program of the CTO office. In a short period, the Open Innovation team navigated through the large Wipro Org and helped us penetrate multiple groups of Wipro and its clients. They have acted as a real catalyst in identifying the right business unit connects, giving us the right exposure, mentoring us at multiple stages.

In the last one year, we have signed-up multiple customers of Wipro across verticals and across continents and have been elevated to Gold Partner status. We are also strategically engaged in many transformation opportunities for Wipro’s clients. The pivotal role played by the Open Innovation team in this journey of ours with Wipro cannot be overstated.

The talk was well received by the audience and there was a follow-up conversation with their head of IP&S on possible collaborations.
