Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur in HaitiIn the poorest of countries like Haiti where our Sisters serve, it is a challenge for parents to provide for essentials like housing, food and school-related costs. This is true even for those parents who are fortunate enough to have jobs at the Notre Dame Bakery. That’s why we have started two special projects.

The Haiti Scholarship Project helps workers and sellers at the Notre Dame Bakery earn scholarships for their children that will cover the cost of school tuition, books and uniforms.

The Bread for Schools Project provides bread to two schools once a week giving each student a roll — a welcome addition as many children often receive only one meal a day.
