Will Nash Broyles (Vocalist/Narrator) is thrilled to be touring the country with this amazing company! His regional theatre credits include Pippin in Pippin (Greenbrier Valley Theatre), Don Lockwood in Singin’ In the Rain (Orpheum Theatre - Phoenix), Doody in Grease (Walnut Street Theatre), Hero in Forum (Theatre-by-the-Sea), Rolf in The Sound of Music (Fireside), Ren in Footloose (Dutch Apple), Jack in Into the Woods (Good Theatre), and Frank in The Rocky Horror Show (Roxy). Kathleen Carter (Vocalist) is excited to join the cast of IN THE MOOD for her first national tour!  Favorite regional credits include Chicago (Velma Kelly), Grease (Rizzo), Mamma Mia! (Donna and Tanya), A Chorus Line (Cassie), Young Frankenstein (Elizabeth), A Christmas Story (Miss Shields), Steel Magnolias (Shelby), On Golden Pond (Chelsea), and Crazy For You (Tess).  Most recently, she was part of the workshop cast of The American Clock with Director Rachel Chavkin (Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet and Hadestown).  She has also appeared in national commercials for names like AT&T, Tanqueray, and Amway. Mackenzie Tank (Vocalist) is originally from Woodstock, GA and holds a bachelor’s degree in Music Business from Indiana State University and studied Musical Theatre at AMDA (American Musical and Dramatic Academy) in NYC. IN THE MOOD is her first national tour and she’s absolutely thrilled to be a part of it! Past credits include Company, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, and Rent and her vocal performances have taken her on tour to Italy, China and Vietnam. Paige Butz (Dancer, Vocalist) is stoked to join the cast of IN THE MOOD! She is originally from Winter Haven, Florida. Paige graduated from the University of Florida (Go Gators!) before training at Broadway Dance Center in NYC. She was most recently seen in Grease on Royal Caribbean’s Harmony of the Seas. Joe Consiglio (Dancer, Vocalist) is a native of Wichita, Kansas. He comes from a family of classical musicians, wherein his love for the classics originates. He began playing the cello at age 8, and his love for live theater later developed throughout high school. Joe has spent the last 5 years traveling around North America, Australia, and Europe performing on cruise ships (Holland America Line & Norwegian Cruise Lines) and in regional theaters. STRING OF PEARLS ORCHESTRA

Bud Forrest (Music Director and Pianist) is a former Juilliard student who earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Ithaca College, Ithaca, NY and did graduate work in music at Catholic University in Washington, DC. He was accompanist to the world famous “Singing Sergeants”, the official chorus of the United States Air Force. Throughout his thirty years in Washington, DC he had been pianist for events at many of Washington, DC’s political events including performances at the U.S. Senate, the U.S. House of Representatives and the Smithsonian Institution. In addition, Bud was a pianist for touring Broadway shows appearing in the Washington, DC area. In 1993, World USO selected IN THE MOOD to be an official entertainment for the 50th Commemoration of World War II. From 1994 to 2017 this show has traveled to over 48 states (Alaska and Vermont here we come!), Canada, Europe, New Zealand and four times to Australia for over 100 sold-out performances. In 1997, Bud and his String of Pearls Orchestra were featured at an Inaugural Ball for President and Mrs. Clinton. Now celebrating the 24th year of touring, Bud and IN THE MOOD are looking forward to many more years of bringing the best decade of 20th century American popular music—the 1940s and the Big Band era to fans worldwide.

Walter White (Drums) began his professional career in the 8thgrade, when he was hired to record a gospel album. He attended Memphis State, then traveled across Texas, playing popular and jazz music in clubs. After joining the Air Force as a Bandsman, he was assigned to the Air Force Band in Europe and also had a NATO assignment. During this time, he traveled Europe as a featured soloist with The Ambassadors, the direct decendent of the Army Air Corps Glenn Miller Orchestra. Walter’s career has had him performing with top names in band and jazz music such as Bob Florence, Vicki Carr, Bob Hope, Morton Gould, Frederick Fennell and many others. Since retiring from the Air Force, Walter has been an active clinician, educator, and author. He has written and published 20 books for percussion education, and manufactures percussion instruments. He has played for Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, Broadway, Columbia Artist Mgmt Inc, and locally in San Antonio, Tx. He now resides in Boerne, TX with his wife Sharon.

Stephen Cox (Bass) is a bassist and multi-instrumentalist songwriter based out of Atlanta. He studied Jazz Performance at Georgia State University under Robert Dickson and played bass with the Georgia State Big Band. Stephen’s debut Jazz album, "Transitions” was released in 2017, featuring all original compositions. When he’s not playing original shows, Stephen performs in Musicals and at restaurants, and teaches private lessons on bass, guitar, piano, and ukulele. John DeSalme (Tenor Saxophone) is an alumnus of the University of Iowa. He played and toured in the mid-west from '74-'81. In 1981, he became a member of the Jazz Ambassadors. In 1988 he won the audition for the Army Blues, the official jazz ensemble of the United States Army based in Washington D.C. John toured the Middle East in a USO show in 2002 and has been a regular performer for 10 years with the D.C. area Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra. He recently performed with the American Festival Pops Orchestra. Over the years John has played with many jazz and pop luminaries including Tony Bennett, Slide Hampton, Frankie Valli, the Temptations and others. He continues to play and record in the Washington/Baltimore area.

Noah Vece (Alto Saxophone) is happy to be joining the Winter/Spring 2018 tour of IN THE MOOD! Noah graduated from Kennesaw State University in 2011 and has been an active freelance musician in the Atlanta area ever since. Noah studied saxophone, flute, and clarinet with renowned artists such as Sam Skelton, Dan Higgins, and Tony Carere among many others. His experience playing a wide range of instruments has made him an in-demand musician in the Atlanta theatre scene, with over 25 Broadway musical credits to his name since 2014. Noah has traveled the world performing with Royal Caribbean Cruises, and is thrilled to be on tour with the String of Pearls Orchestra!

Brian Lang (Alto Saxophone) hails from Columbus, Ohio and is a versatile, multiple woodwind performer and educator. Brian has spent the better part of the last five years touring the world with various bands and shows including most recently The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra, The Lonny Lynn Orchestra, and Elf: The Musical National Tour. He has performed at high profile venues in many countries including the Maison Symphonique in Montreal, Canada as part of the 2016 Montreal Jazz Festival as well as Festival Hall in Osaka, Japan, and Orchard Hall in Tokyo, Japan. In January 2019, Brian also had the honor to perform for the Ohio Governor’s Inauguration Ball at the Ohio Statehouse. He enjoys drinking good coffee and when he’s not on tour spending time with Mickey, his Australian cattle dog. 

David Wisler (Trumpet/Tour Manager) Music has always been an important part of life for David Wisler. The son of a piano and voice teacher, he started music lessons at age 3, and at 5, he began studying the trumpet. At age 13, he started playing in jazz bands and orchestras and has been doing so ever since. Always striving for excellence, Dave has become an excellent performer in solo, orchestral, jazz, and commercial idioms. Over the years, Dave has performed and recorded with such artists as: Wayne Newton, Dianne Schur, Marvin Hamlisch, Misha Dichter, Byron Stripling, Wycliff Gordon, Frank Mantooth, Sandi Patty, and Ray Boltz. With extensive performances across the US, Dave has also played throughout Europe, including the Montreaux and North Sea jazz festivals. Dave has a Bachelor of Arts from Anderson University (95), an Masters of Music from Bowling Green State University (99), and has completed all course work toward a Doctor of Arts from Ball State University. This is his 4th year with IN THE MOOD.

Scott Whitford (Trumpet) is excited to return for another season with IN THE MOOD. Hailing from Indiana, Scott is a graduate of Ball State University where he played lead trumpet in the esteemed BSU Lab Jazz Ensemble. While at Ball State, Scott had the privilege of studying under Larry McWilliams, of the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, and Mark Buselli. Scott is in high demand as a trumpet player and clinician throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia. He was a featured performer at Busch Gardens Europe and has worked throughout the world aboard Royal Caribbean and Princess Cruise lines as a lead trumpet player and musical director. Scott has performed with numerous groups including the Heartland Big Band from Indianapolis, Global Jazz Orchestra in Osaka, Japan, Contemporary Jazz Orchestra in San Francisco, The Rat Pack, Reunited, and many others. Scott wishes to thank his beautiful fiancé, Heather Beck, for her love and support.

Jonathan Dowd (Trombone) hails from Long Island, New York. This is his 3rd consecutive tour with IN THE MOOD and he is thrilled for the experience. Jonathan holds a Bachelor's from the Crane School of Music in music education and a Master's from the University of North Texas in trombone performance, where he studied under the tutelage of Tony Baker. Jonathan can be heard on the recent Two O'Clock Lab Band album entitled Two More Twice playing lead trombone. A versatile performer, Jonathan has experience playing with a variety of big bands, small jazz groups, rock bands, concert bands, orchestras, chamber ensembles, and musical theater productions. When Jonathan is not on tour with IN THE MOOD, he stays busy as an in demand free lancer and music educator.

PRODUCTION TEAM

John Nocera (Sound Engineer) is originally from Providence, R.I., and now resides in Connecticut. He has 29 years of international touring as a freelance engineer. Most recently John has toured with Nuclear Cowboyz and Disney On Ice. This is his fourth year with IN THE MOOD and is excited to be a part of this experience.

Alexander Le Vaillant Freer (Lighting Director) is a Los Angeles based lighting designer. Alexander’s work tends to be multi-faceted and includes traditional theater, immersive and installation-based work, and architectural. He holds an MFA in Lighting Design from California Institute of the Arts, and is an alum of Stephens College. Previous design credits include: The Cripple of Inishmaan (Stella Adler Studios, NY), Miracle on 34th Street (Pasadena Playhouse, Pasadena CA), Gorgeous (The Actors Company, LA), Plunge (Son of Semele, LA) Elizabeth Hammond-A Eulogy, Archipelago (Son of Semele, LA), Fantômas-Revenge of the Image (Whuzen, China), Francesca Francesca (Edinburgh, Scotland), Ocean of Milk (Prague, CR), of Light (Reykjavik, Iceland), Titanic-A Devised Piece (Moscow, Russia). Meghan O’Beirne (Wardrobe Supervisor) is excited to be joining IN THE MOOD as the wardrobe supervisor on her first touring experience! Meghan has an expansive background in costume design and management as well as wardrobe supervision, with her most recent job experiences within the past year being workroom supervisor at a sewing design studio in Maryland, wardrobing for Synetic Theatre in Arlington, VA, and costume designing for Winnie The Pooh at the Alden Theatre in McLean, VA. She has also worked in the Theme Park industry and enjoyed her time at Busch Gardens Williamsburg supervising in the costume shop, where she was given the opportunity to costume design two shows: OktoberZest and NightBeats Re-Vamped. Meghan is from Baltimore, Maryland originally and received her MFA in production design, concentration in costume design, from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in 2015. She is extremely passionate about costumes and wardrobe and is always enthusiastic for the next opportunity!

Vic Schoen (Arranger) was an icon of Hollywood. It is impossible to list all his credits but they do include being the arranger/conductor for over 20 years for the Andrews Sisters. He was music director for Paramount and Universal Pictures. Vic scored Road to Morocco with Bob Hope and Bing Crosby and The Inspector General and The Court Jester with Danny Kaye. Television specials include those of Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Andy Williams, Ethel Merman, Shirley MacLaine, Perry Como, Maurice Chevalier and Pat Boone. He was the arranger/conductor for the Dinah Shore television series for 3 years. Vic arranged/conducted all of Patti Page’s hit recordings. Other collaborations include Ella Fitzgerald, Al Jolson, Dick Haymes, Betty Hutton, Carmen Miranda, Mel Torme and Eddie Fisher. He was an arranger for many of the famous big bands including Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Benny Goodman and Les Brown. A number of the music arrangements for IN THE MOOD are from the pen of Vic and we are very proud to carry on his great tradition as we dedicate each performance to his memory.

David Bandman (Arranger) a native of Waukegan, IL, David is a graduate of The University of North Texas where he played trombone in the premier One O'Clock Lab Band. As a euphonium player he was the winner of the first ITEC (then TUBA) international jazz euphonium competition. David is a composer/arranger for the Big Apple Circus in New York City and for the world traveled IN THE MOOD. He has written dozens of big band charts that are being played in high schools and colleges all over the country. David is retired from The United States Air Force Band, Washington D.C. where he played trombone and euphonium and is now a freelance musician, writer and teacher. He has recently released his first highly acclaimed jazz euphonium CD Can I Play Too where he arranged the music of Herbert L. Clarke arranged for big band and available at euphoniumjazz.com. “Solo work reflects musicianship by one of the greatest soloists I've ever heard!…tailored arrangements made everything "fit" perfectly and are superb"…Sammy Nestico.

Linda Tomlin (Costumes) since 2000, Linda has worked with IN THE MOOD as Costume Designer. Through the lens of historic materials and early Vogue publications, she has brought the memory of the 1930’s and 1940’s to the show. Originally from New England, Linda has spent most of her life in California. Currently residing in Virginia, she is wife to Bud Forrest, creator of IN THE MOOD. Linda’s passion for design includes costumes, period textiles, restoration & conservation , fine linen, and needlework. She is president of her own company, Details In Design, LLC specializing in fine hand embroidered linens for churches and the home décor industry as well as hand embroidered monograms. Linda is also the director of the Williamsburg School of Needlework dedicated to teaching hand embroidery to help students start their own businesses throughout the United States.

Jeff Greenberg (Lighting Design) is a lighting designer for theatre, dance and opera.   His recent credits include Grease at the Eldorado Hotel/Casino in Reno, NV; the National tour of Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story; Man of La Mancha  starring John Davidson, Titanic the Musical and Nunset Boulevard at the Ocean Professional Theatre Company. He also designed the 100th Anniversary national tour of Titanic the Musical for Boebe Productions and Windwood Theatricals which toured the U.S. and Canada during the fall of 2012.  Other credits include the world premier of Starry Messenger, and Questions About Angels at Theater for the New City; The Sea Gull at Montclair State University; On Your Toes, The Drowsy Chaperone, Ragtime, Lady Be Good, The Producers, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Stand By Your Man, It’s Only a Play, Dial M for Murder, andThe Last Night of Ballyhoo at the Surflight Theatre; The Odd Couple, Clue the Musical, andOklahoma at the Allenberry Playhouse; and the world premier musical A Girl Called Dusty at the Provincetown Repertory Theatre.  Other theatres where he has designed include Blue Heron Performing Arts Center, Playwrights Theatre of New Jersey; New Jersey Repertory Company; 12 Miles West, the Penobscot Theatre Company, and Lake George Opera. From 2004-2007 Jeff was the lighting designer and production manager for the international tour of IN THE MOOD, a 1940’s musical revue, and prior to that he was the Lighting Supervisor with the American Indian Dance Theatre.  In 2005, Jeff was nominated for a Vivian Robinson/Audelco award for outstanding lighting design for his production of Robeson in New York.  His lighting for The Brothers Karamazov received the Newark Star Ledger’s Best Lighting award for the 2002-2003 New Jersey theatre season.
