Teach Us Lord

Teach us Lord how to serve thee. Teach us how to pray. Anoint us for thy service. Lead and guide us the right way. Teach us how to love and forgive our brothers. Teach us how to be kind and giving to others. And when we are in trouble Lord, Teach us how to pray.

Don’t Push Me Aside

“Don’t push me aside,” the old lady cried; as tears came from her eyes. Just because I’m old and can’t move anymore. It doesn’t mean that I don’t still have pride. Don’t push me aside; I was here before you. You might be stronger, but I’ve been here longer. I’m somebody too. Getting around isn’t that easy and sitting still is becoming a pain. I wonder how much longer will it be before God calls my name. I can’t even remember and it’s almost a shame. And oh, how many times have I stumbled to fall; I can’t even recall. My children have gone about their ways and no one seems to care. At night I’m getting more and more afraid, but God; He’s standing right there. He puts his arms around me. He tells me it’s going to be alright. He gives me blessed assurance. He gives me my peace at night. And when the morning comes and everything is still. He will take me by the hand and make my dying bed He will take me to glory land;

In the land of the living, not the dead. Yes, that’s when I’ll see him, up on that hill with all those angels singing those pretty songs. Just thinking about this brings joy and tears. But for now, I’m still waiting Lord. Don’t let them push me aside.

There’s No Place Like Home

Lord, there are a lot of places to go in this world. There are a lot of things to see. There are a lot of things to be done here, If time permits they will be. But there’s no place like that Holy City, I can feel it in my bones. With all its beauty and perfection; there’s no place like home. Our time down here is limited; the work here is almost done. We’ve toiled, tarried, and suffered long. We know there’s no place like home. I don’t intend to miss the mark nor fail the test. I don’t want to be left out, I’m striving hard to do my best. In the service that I give to you; with the love that you gave to me. In the joy that I’ve shared with others; waiting for the ultimate peace to be. There’s no place like home. I’m waiting for the trumpet to sound. Oh! How the saints will leap for joy knowing they’re heaven bound. Those angels will sing in Glory. The melody will be so sweet. The Great Elders will tell the story of how Jesus abolished defeat.

Only time will tell, I’ve seen the signs. I’ll be ready when you call my name. I’ll be faithful until the end. I’ll stay humble, meek, and holy and work on old self. I’ll fast and pray more each day, I’ll do this if nothing else. For it’s in my heart to be with God, no more being down here to roam. Our time is set, peace is yet. There’s no place like home.

Don’t Be Deceived

Lord, I want to live some, but I don’t know how. I want to do right, but not right now. I want to do what you want me to, but I want to do what I want to do. I want to dance, smoke, swear and drink. In my sins I want to sink. I want to fight, lie, cheat, and steal. Well, Lord, I can’t give up my pills. I can’t give up my boyfriend. He’s helping me out. Without him, my life would be in all kinds of doubts. I know that you’ll be back again one day, but Lord, I’m young and I want to play. My friends and I, we’re doing fine. Please don’t call on me now; give me more time. Reply: But listen sinner, your time is running out. God will move in a heart that has no doubt. He doesn’t need you; who do you think you are? God can use a rock, a fish, or a star. Yes, it may sound strong, but it’s very true. Harden not your heart for He may still be calling you.

Jesus, Oh Jesus!

“Jesus, Oh Jesus, Why did you have to die on the cross?” I know you paid the price for many souls that were lost. As you marched to the tree, you had a burden to set men free. As you held the truth in your head, There was hope men would do just like you said. Now, I can hold my head up high and live the life of Christ who died. Taking truth to every man this love of Jesus of which I stand. Jesus, Oh Jesus I love thee.

The Lack of Love

The lack of love is in your heart when you feel that no one cares for you. The lack of love will destroy a home leaving its occupants scattered too. The lack of love comes from misunderstandings within those who refuse to understand. To keep lacking love is to keep lacking God. For it’s required of us to love every man. Lord, show us the way toward love. Keep us humble to love as we should. Help us to love our fellow man, White, black, red, or whatever the color of his skin. And Lord, keep our hearts pure and our hands clean of sin.

Death

Death will knock upon your door be ye young or old,

For death cometh after the body but

God will hold all souls.

Now what if you’ve lived a sinful life and you didn’t do

God’s will?

What do you think he will say?

How do you think you’ll feel?

Will you be set cast into the lake of burning fire,

or set upon his Holy Hill?

Please make up your mind while you have time.

For God’s truth has been revealed.

It’s Time To Pray

It’s time to pray and the time is now. Lord, what should I say? I don’t know how. The words I cannot utter. My heart is filled with pain. My burdens seem so heavy. I feel I’m suffering in vain. I know that I must suffer; But some things seem hard to bare. I need strength and encouragement; You’re the only one that cares. Lord, you said ask and it shall be given: Seek and ye shall find. Please remove all of my trouble and worries. Place my fears far behind.

Make Me

Make me a home of love divine. Make me one to give of my time. Make me a child to serve thee.

Here I am Lord, make me.

Make me to kneel and pray each day. Give me the strength and show me the way. Give me to know and then understand.

Here I am Lord, make me.

Make Me The Extended Version Written by Sherri Powell

Make me to kneel and pray each day.

Give me the strength and show me the way.

Give me to know and then understand your love.

Here I am Lord, make me.

Make me a home of love divine.

Make me one to give of my time.

Make me a woman to serve only thee.

Here I am Lord, make me.

Make me a woman full of mercy and grace.

Allow me to forgive and love each face.

Make me to cherish and honor thee at all times.

Here I am Lord, make me.

Make me virtuous, righteous, and holy.

Let all that I do be for your glory.

Give me the wisdom to share your life story.

Here I am Lord, make me.

Make me blessed in the city and blessed in the field.

Allow me to want for nothing because it is your will.

Allow me to serve you and seek your kingdom first.

Here I am Lord, make me.

Make me a woman pure and true.

Clean me up so I can be just like you.

Allow me to be an example of who you are in my life.

Here I am Lord, make me.

And Lord, while you're making me...

Instill in me enough wisdom to know right from wrong.

Allow me to be a living testimony, for the test and trials are

there to make me strong.

Here I am Lord Make Me!

Help Me To Climb This Mountain

As I climb this mountain, I’m reaching for the top.

I can’t turn around, I can’t back down.

I must go on, lest I drop.

I don’t know how I’m going to make it for each foot is

not the same.

Step by step, slowly I climb, my integrity I must

contain.

My hands have touched solid rock, which has given

me faith and strength.

But when I reach my shaky grounds, Lord hold me,

stable me, make me content.

My path might be rocky and rugged.

It might be hard to climb,

It might be lonely and disturbing,

But Lord, you’ll be in front and behind.

Lord, I feel you only leading and guiding me.

You are the help and security I need with your love in

my heart and peace in my mind.

This mountain I have claimed the deeds.
