IN THE FULLNESS OF TIMEChapter 11
EPHESIANS 1:9-10
“For he had made known to us in all wisdom and insight the mystery of his will, according to his purpose which he set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.”
FULLNESS OF TIME Waited many centuries for Savior Days of King Herod Archangel Gabriel appears to
Zachariah “Do not be afraid, Zachariah, for your
prayer is heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son and you shall call his name John”
No ordinary child
JOHN Great prophet Turn the hearts of many back to God Zachariah without faith “How shall I know this?, For I am an
old man and my wife is advanced in years.”
Unable to speak
ANNUNCIATION Six months later Archangel Gabriel visited Mary in
Nazareth “Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you!
Blessed are you among women!” “You will conceive in your womb and
bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. He will be great, and will be call the Son of the Most High?
MARY Engaged to Joseph the angel explained. “The Holy Spirit will come upon you,
and the power off the Most High will overshadow you; there for the child to be born will be call holy the Son of God.”
‘Behold, I am the handmaiden of the Lord, let it be to according to your word.”
VISITATION
Angel told Mary that her cousin Elizabeth would soon have a baby.
“For with God nothing will be impossible
Mary went to visit Elizabeth Elizabeth’s child leaps with joy
at Mary’s greeting.
ELIZABETH ANSWERS
Elizabeth filled with the Holy Spirit said to Mary
“Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! And why is this granted me, that he mother of my Lord should come to me?”
MAGNIFICAT MARY’S SONG “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit
rejoices in God my Savior, for he has regarded the low estate of his handmaiden. For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed; for he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name, and his mercy is on those who fear him for generation to generation. He has shown strength with his arm, he has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts, he had put down the mighty from their thrones, and exalted those of low degree; he has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent empty away. He has helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy, as he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his posterity forever.” Luke 1:46-55
