GESS DUBAI – THE SOURCE FOR THE EDUCATION INDUSTRYOver 60% of our visitors come to GESS to keep up to date with new products and innovation and its essential that our marketing, tone and branding reflects this. 40% of all visitors attend our free conference sessions so it’s key to communicate the breadth of content to our audience. Our targeted and effective campaign is designed to do just that, to reach the right visitors that our exhibitors want to see.

Improved content and design of the GESS DUBAI WEBSITE resulted in 44,170 unique users, an increase of 20% for the same period in 2015.

GESS VISITOR CAMPAIGN ADVERT with a cohesive look and feel across all marketing collateral, the advert was designed to ensure engagement from the education industry, emphasise our unique content and worldwide relevant of the brand.

DIRECT MAIL pieces were targeted to key job functions including head teachers, directors, heads of department and key private school groups. We keep our copy as lively and engaging as possible and our 2016 creative helped to reinforce this around the concept of “Shaping the Future of Education”. This helped us

increase attendance from our core job function of Head Teachers / Principals year on year of 13.69%

EMAIL MARKETING we find that emails are an effective way for us to communicate to our audience. All emails are personalised with links to targeted information within the website and are produced in English and Arabic. With an average of 18.90% unique opens and an average open rate of 4.05% delivering us 23% of pre-reg.

GESS TALKS for the first time our monthly newsletter brand was extended to an onsite feature at GESS Dubai 2016. Short interviews were exhibitors and speakers were conducted by Ewan McIntosh, education expert and GESS speaker, as well daily highlights videos were pushed out via our website, social media and on screens using Newsroom software around the venue. Creating engaging content that gave insight into the show and encouraged potential visitors to attend by promoting the content and products on offer at the show.

Our onsite blogger created innovative content in the form of testimonial videos, pictures and articles engaging with exhibitors, speakers and visitors. Utilising the #GESStalks feed this worked particularly well on our Instagram feed and gave our content a personal touch to appeal to our audience of teachers.

“This is the first year that we pushed out, short, insight videos for both speakers and exhibitors onsite, under the umbrella of the GESS Talks brand. The idea was to create really valuable content that resonated with the visitor audience, engaging them in a different way to attend the event. Pushing the content out quickly on TV screens around the venue as well as on social media and show emails during the day as part of a cohesive marketing approach. We’re already working towards 2017 to create something truly innovative and exciting.” Ewan McIntosh – CEO, NoTosh

“With a total impressions of 11,975, the time spent per user is on average 2:17 minutes for GESS Dubai Newsroom. In our opinion this is a very good number and signifies that the content you published was of interest for the users. We liked the #GESSTalks series a lot, congratulations!” Benjamin Blaser, CTO & Co-Founder | Newsroom Discoverer
