The Results of Chukrasia and A. auriculiformis in Mixed Species Planting

ABSTRACT

IL The growth of Chukrasia from various provenances in Chukrasia and A. auriculiformis

mixed species trials were carried out at Ratchaburi Experimental station, Paktho, Ratchaburi

province and Maetha Seed Orchard, Meatha, Lampang province. The layout was split-plot

design with 3 replicates, each replicate consisted of 5 main plots for 5 provenances of

I ç_ Chukrasia. Each main plot consisted of 2 sub-plots with pure and mixed species. The data was

L collected for 3 years consisted of survival percentage, height growth and shoot borer assessment.

The result showed that survival percentage at Ratchaburi was higher than Lampang. At age 36

I months, the average survival percentage at Ratchaburi was more than 90% in all sub-plots. But

I at Lampang, the average survival percentage was around 60% at the first year and it looked

I constantly until the third year.

In both A. auriculiformis and Chukrasia mixed species trials, there were no effect of

A. auriculiformis on growth of Chukrasia from various provenances. But the growth of

Chukrasia was only depended on provenances at the third year in both trials. The provenance

from Myanmar showed the best growth performance at Ratchaburi and the provenance from

L Thailand showed the best growth performance at Lampang. Also with shoot borer assessment,

there was no effect of A. auriculiformis for shoot borer on Chukrasia but the average

ç percentage of attacking difference caused by provenances. All Chukrasia provenances had

L been highly damaged at shoot caused by H robusta at Ratchaburi. But at Lampang, the

- provenance from Myanmar and Thailand showed highest value attacking percentage.
