SALE CONDITIONS AND AUCTION INFORMATION
1. The highest bidder is to be the buyer. If any dispute arises between or among two or
more bidders, sale authority to settle the dispute as he sees fit is reserved by the auc-
tioneer, and his decision shall be final. The auctioneer reserves the right to reject any
or all bids.
2. Terms of the sale are cash, no exceptions (personal checks are considered cash).
Drivers License or some other form of positive identification will be required for
checks.
3. When a cow, heifer, bull steer or semen package is sold the buyer shall sign the Ac-
knowledgement of Purchase, which will be brought to him. Ownership passes when
the buyer signs the
acknowledgement. Name and address MUST BE LEGIBLE and complete and must
be filled in each time an animal is purchased.
4. Cattle are at the buyer’s expense, risk and responsibility from the time of purchase:
physical possession shall not change until final settlement has been made.
5. All cattle are offered for sale according to the laws of the State of Texas.
6. The cattle in this sale have been examined by a veterinarian and have current health
papers. All cattle are sold “as is.” There is no guarantee of any kind as to the
7. soundness, condition, or other qualities of the animal sold in this sale, except in a
case where the owner makes a specific guarantee. In such a case, the guarantee is
strictly by the owner and not by the sale management. Right of recourse must be
directly to the owner, not through the sale management.
7. All registration papers will be withheld by the sale management until all checks clear
the bank. At such time, they will be mailed to the new owner. If any buyer desires to
obtain registration papers immediately, the animal must be paid for in CASH, not a
check.
8. Buyer will pay the transfer fee directly to the American Hereford Association at the
time of the transfer request.
9. The sale management, auctioneer and employees act as agents for the seller, but
assume no liability for either the buyer or seller. Any representation made by the
sales management are made on behalf of the seller.
10. Every effort has been made to insure correctness of the catalog, but sale management
and auctioneers will not assume any responsibility for errors or omissions.
11. All bred heifers are presumed bred but not guaranteed. Prospective buyers can make
arrangements to have a qualified veterinary pregnancy examination before the sale at
the buyer’s expense, but once the heifer is sold there can be no refusal to pay due to
pregnancy status.
12. All premium money, ribbons, banners and gifts go to the seller; buyers may purchase
duplicates where available.

Sometimes the hardest decision in putting together a sale is which animal
will hold the coveted lot one spot. While sometimes pedigree dictates the
selection, other times it’s the animal’s conformation and make up that gives
it the title. This year’s sale has been no different. When we sat down and
started to compile the sale catalog I thought that this year’s selection would be
pretty simple, and I had my mind all but made up for months regarding which
animal deserved the top honor. Then, in August we got a call from one of the
breeds’ biggest supporters and oh, did he have a knock out for us…
You see it wasn't just the animals conformation, or that this calf stemmed
from a program that has seen many young individuals find their way to the
backdrop, it’s what the consignors wanted to do with the calf that made it a no
brainer for us. It’s with great honor and appreciation that we introduce Lot 1
from J&M Farm, SUGAR RAY!
Sugar Ray is sired by JAM’s Little Devil, and out of a great cow that stems
from some of the top genetics of the KAP herd. Husky’s Little Devil already
started things off on the right foot for J&M, as some of the top showman on
the TJLA circuit have found success with this young sires’ offspring.
100% of the proceeds from the lot go to the next generation of cattlemen.
Meredith, June and the Roberts family have decided to give all the money
raised for this lot back to the Texas Breeders Foundation, to insure continued
support of our activities for the miniature Hereford breeds’ young exhibitors.

A true sale feature here! This is a heifer that offers a bit more frame, level in
her design and has that dark red color with eye pigment. Her maternal grand-
mother is doing an awesome job for us. (Check out her son in Houston) 157A
has the goods to be a big time breeding piece!!!

Great little heifer here. If you’re looking for one to put the first timer on or
just something to mix things up in your herd, here’s one to consider. The dam
of this female goes back to timeless cow family genetics of Largent, while the
sire has been a consistent producer for the Ivy Cattle. Heifer’s should be a
little larger frame, which seems to be the trend in the winner’s circle, while
both producers on the top and bottom of this female consistently produce low
birth weight offspring.

maternal and paternal side. Her mother is sired by none other than the bull
with the most wins in Miniature Hereford history, Silver Sampson. This little
heifer is flashy and feminine; yet, has the power to compete at the highest lev-
el. She is currently being shown by my 10 year old daughter– great for all

Agnes is a product of what the Splitt Creek has worked hard to prove. Polled
girls can have it all. This girl has the width that is hard to find in the polled.
KC Joe, the sire, has produced polled girls with bone and a great back side.
Agnes is one of the best. Don't pass this one up.

goes, and will be a staple-breeding piece in your herd producing champion

Muffie is a daughter of multiple Grand Champion “Sam”, whose offspring
have won more than a dozen Grand Championships. Her dam is one of our
smallest cows and is the spitting female image of her full brother, WW Tom
Thumb, who was Grand Champion, at the NILE in Billings, MT. Her full
sister, WW Tinkerbell, was also a Grand Champion and multiple Reserve
Grand Champion. Muffie has great charisma and is a pretty little girl with
nice markings and a chunky build. She is cute as a button and a terrific feed
converter– whether it is hay or curds and whey.

exception.

A moderate framed, easy fleshing heifer that will be a pasture exposed for the
last 30+ days leading up to the sale. With many breeders today introducing
their herds to the more powerful line of cattle in today’s show industry, it’s
easy to breed out of the material traits and milking efficiencies that have made
the Herefords a staple of the cattle industry. This heifer’s origins trace back
to the Largent family’s herds of West Tx. Many of the great producers in the
Miniature Hereford breed today can trace their foundation animals back to
this very herd. A very useful breeding piece in many herds. Whether you are
looking to add rib shape and softness to those show cattle, or get back some of
the easy keeping traits that Miniature Herefords are known for, this lot should
be one that we all study.

Frontier is a 5-year old ET polled bull that was produced from the Splitt
Creek program. This rugged Ozark son has been the heard bull at Blair Farms

within the Miniature Hereford world. With polled cattle becoming more and
more sought after in and out of the show ring, this is certainly a bull worth
coming to Houston for..

These are the type of cows every cattleman loves to have. Easy fleshing, can
stay off rocks, breed back on time and are just flat good mamma’s. This heif-
er is an ex-show heifer that has a good looking heifer calf at side and been
pasture exposed prior to sell time. For those of you that are somewhat or an
economics guy, or your wife is, this is a can’t miss 3 in 1. Get the cow, some-
thing for the ones to show while having your money already generating next
year’s calf crop. Perfect starter package, or replacement female in this lot.
Only problem you’ll have with this gal is keeping range cubes in your hand
