SAINTGITS FacilitiesSAINTGITS was established with the aim of providing quality facilities on par with international standards. The college has well planned and comprehensive infrastructure provided for both students and faculty. There are seven academic blocks in Saintgits College of Engineering which are exclusively earmarked for Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science & Applied Electronics departments.

The fully computerised library is well stocked with 52,754 books and 220 National & International Journals .Students can access online journals of ASCE, ASME, IEEE, ScienceDirect etc. Digital library is supplemented with 3162 CD-ROMs covering diverse subjects in the curriculum. Library automation enables the students to check the status of a title and reserve the copy on system terminals.

SAINTGITS campus has separate and secure residential hostels for girls and boys. The gents’ hostel with single and three bedded rooms spread out in three blocks can accommodate over 700 inmates. The two ladies’ hostel blocks with similar facilities can accommodate over 700 inmates. All the buildings are equipped with generators for back up power supply and provide comfortable stay and well cooked food.

Saintgits operates buses towards more than 18 destinations such as Kottayam, kumarakom, Ettumanoor, Palai, Manarcadu, Ayarkunnam, Ponkunnam, Pampady,Thiruvalla, Kavumbhagam, Puramattom, Chengannur, Alapuzha, Mavelikkara,Edathuva, etc. Detailed routes are given in the website. Apart from this, more than 15 private buses from Kottayam & Changanassery ply through the campus.

Chemistry is the central science impinging on almost all aspects of our daily lives. Understanding of the fundamentals of Chemistry is essential to finding solutions for many of the immense challenges facing mankind today - starting from water purification, environmental remediation, development of environmentally benign chemical process and novel materials for sequestering solar energy and storage, to unravelling molecular mechanisms for disease and the development of new molecules for their cure.

The department strives to create a basic awareness about the significance of soft skills in professional and inter-personal communications and facilitate development of self-confidence in students with versatility of mind, thus making them competent and employable.. Hard or technical skills help securing a basic position in one’s life and career. But only soft skills can ensure a person retain it, climb further, reach a pinnacle, achieve excellence, and derive fulfilment and supreme joy. Soft skills comprise pleasant and appealing personality traits as self-confidence, positive attitude, emotional intelligence, social grace, flexibility, friendliness and effective communication skills.

To achieve a healthier lifestyle while coping with the pressures of studying, one needs to be healthy both emotionally and physically. As a part of this process, SAINTGITS emphasizes the importance of sports and considers them as an integral part of the curriculum. College has a number of sports activities viz Saintgits Foot Ball League[SFL], Saintgits Badminton League[SBL],Saintgits Cricket League[SCL] etc that help the students maintain fitness and develop a competitive spirit. Virtual Labs enthuse students to conduct experiments by arousing their curiosity. This would help them in learning basic and advanced concepts through remote experimentation. This also provides a complete Learning Management System around the Virtual Labs where the students can avail the various tools for learning, including additional web-resources, video-lectures, animated demonstrations and self evaluation.

A Fab Lab is a platform for - To Learn, To Innovate, To Create, To mentor, To Invent – thus promote design thinking. The Fab Lab project is the educational outreach program for MIT’s [Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA] Center for Bits & Atoms.

FAB Lab provides connectivity to a global community of learners, educators, technologists, researchers, makers and innovators- -a knowledge sharing network that spans 30 countries and 24 time zones. Because all Fab Labs share common tools and processes, the program is to build a distributed laboratory for research and invention. Saintgits Fab Lab will position the students in a global network and the program will further boost their standards and quality of education.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is the network of physical objects or ‘things’ embedded with electronics, software, sensors, and connectivity to enable objects to exchange data. IoT allows direct integration between the physical world and computer-based systems, helping to connect people, processes and devices. Besides Robotics and 3D Printing, IOT will revolutionalise the future technological world

Students and researchers can utilize our IoT test bed available in IoT lab to get hands on exposure on IoT platform. This IoT test bed is an open and developing ecosystem of edge devices, communication protocols, cloud-bsed platforms and applications with a focus on cost effective IoT technologies. The young student researchers has designed, prototyped and implemented the first IoT product in Saintgits campus on 13th February 2017.

Final year UG project “WHEEL CHANGER” is selected as the best marketable project work in the National Techfest organized by MACFAST Thiruvalla. It occupied first position in the rounds, ‘model presentation’ and ‘product marketing’.

Students receiving awards from the Vice Chancellor of APJ Abdul Kalam Kerala Technolgical university for developing an innovative project which is extremely useful and beneficial for the Kerala State Electricity Board.

Government of Kerala along with Startup village has selected 21 teams from all over Kerala as a part of promoting Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Two teams from Saintgits College of Engineering made it to the final 21. Chief Minister of Kerala presented the team members with Startup boxes which comprise of electronic gadgets required to materialize their idea.

Ajin George Reji, Alwin Tom, Aswin D, Nirmal V Daniel, Gison C Andrews and Nidhin Madhusudanan of S6 EE (2013-17) has obtained the First Prize in the Robotic championship (ROBO-ZEST’16) conducted by RoboSpecies Technologies Private Limited at IIT Kharagpur

The IIW SAINTGITS Students’ Chapter is the 1st IIW Students’ Chapter in Kerala and the 2nd IIW Students’ Chapter in India. Sri. Jose P Philip, Chairman, IIW Cochin Branch (Kerala Chapter) has inaugurated the chapter.

For Developing a web portal that help farmers sell their products directly to the end customer,Jithin M S,Govindan Nmpoothiri V,Jibin Joseph and Clinz Stephen has bagged third position in the two day Hack to Help – Social Innovation Hackathon jointly hosted by the US Consulate General Chennai and Learning Links Foundation with support of Kerala Startup Mission, Maker Village & Science Society of India.The competition had drew participation from All over Kerala.

College Magazine ‘ODYSSEY’ has bagged Kerala Mudrana Puraskaram 2017 – Silver (Award for excellence in printing) instituted by Kerala Master Printers Association. The award was received by Staff Editor, Er Swapna Thomas from Honourable Speaker Shri. P. Sreeramakrishnan, Kerala Legislative Assembly at the award night held on 8th April 2017 at Flora Airport Hotel, Nedumbassery, Kochi.
