National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE) was established in 1963 by Ministry of HRD, Government of India with the

assistance of United Nations Deve lopment Programme (UNDP) through the Inter national Labour Organisation (ILO) with a mission to

nourish a learning environment conducive to foster innovations in producti vity and business development.

A pioneer in productivity improvement, operations and manufacturing management, NITIE is consider to be one of the best institutes

for Supply chain management.

With over four decades of affiliation with the industry and corpor ate world, NITIE has evolved as an epitome in Industrial Engineering,

Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Engineering (PGDIE) was introduced in 1971 in NITIE. Since then, the programme has been enjoying the privilege

of being the flagship programme of the institute. PGDIE is truly a multi-dimensional course which is systematically designed, not just to teach business

management principles to the students, but to create world class leaders with cross-functional skills who can take-up enormous corporate challenges

and tackle complex industrial problems. The course structure of PGDIE is planned, keeping in view the dynamic requirements of industries and
