Confirmation for P7 Holy Cross Primary Pupils Confirmation Enrolment took place last weekend. Preparation Events continue this weekend at the end of each Mass (Vigil 6pm; 9.30am & 11.40am). A number of P7 Pupils asked for some of Pope Francis’ words to young people (from Christus Vivit n. 122) to which Fr Joe referred last week:

“Young people, beloved of the Lord, how valuable must you be if you were redeemed by the precious blood of Christ! Dear young people, ‘you are priceless! You are not up for sale! Please, do not let yourselves be bought. Do not let yourselves be seduced. Do not let yourselves be enslaved by forms of ideological colonization that put ideas in your heads, with the result that you end up becoming slaves, addicts, failures in life. You are priceless. You must repeat this always: I am not up for sale; I do not have a price. I am free! Fall in love with this freedom, which is what Jesus offers’.”

SVDP Conferences of this area will be hosted by this parish on Wednesday 6th Nov at 7.45pm in parish Hall. We take this opportunity to congratulate them on their fine work.

November Lists are available in the Porch Area. Please complete & return asap. A Plenary Indulgence for the Souls in Purgatory is available from Midday 1st Nov to Midnight on 2nd Nov in any Church, in addition for visiting a cemetery and praying for those buried there, from 1st- 8th Nov. Mass will be celebrated each day of November for those whose names are on the November Lists. Please do not get “hung up” on Indulgences. (24/7) Whilst bearing the heat & the burden of the day, you raise your mind & heart to God… already grants an Indulgence.

Bereaved of the Past Year are being invited to Mass, this weekend, 2nd/ 3rd November. The Names of the Deceased whose Funerals took place over the past year (early- October 2018 to late September 2019) from here, will be read out & a candle lit.

Remembrance Sunday is on Sunday 10th Nov. Croy Silver Band will kindly lead us musically at the 11.40am Mass & then also at the Service of Remembrance at the Shrine to the Fallen adjacent to the main entrance of the Church Building. This year Mr John McColl will lay the Memorial Wreath on behalf of Holy Cross Parish. His Father, also John McColl was shot in the leg (the family still has the bullet!) and then taken prisoner during 1939- 45 War. Each year we hope to have someone different to lay the Parish Wreath, someone who has some connection with the Fallen or the Armed Forces.

If you are interested in attending please sign the sheet in the porch area. Spouses are also welcome. Over 18s only.
