My Loved Ones,

Today, we come to worship and acknowledge the legacy, leader-ship and support of the women of Grace to the life of this ministry over the years. From the time the Lord laid the vision to ignite this movement on the hearts of five former slave women until now, women have played a vital role in this kingdom building work. The women of Grace have been the dominant and sustaining force for the achievements of these one hundred twenty five years. We are all blessed by the initiatives of our women who have and continue to work diligently in varied capacities throughout our church.

This month, we celebrate this legacy; however, all of us must be challenged by it. The issues of social and economic injustice that they met in the eighteen eightys continue with us even to this hour. We must gather our resources and awaken our spirituality so that the cause may continue. We are summoned by the gospel to engage in the work of social transformation and inspired by the rich heritage and witness of the women of Grace. We are the bene-ficiaries of their witness and are grateful for their faithfulness.

As we commence our Season of Women this morning, we cele-brate and acknowledge the Host and Hostess Ministry on their Annual Day. They welcome our visitors and serve as greeters at church functions with warm smiles and loving dispositions. We are blessed to have a cadre of men and women who delight in serving others, lovingly embracing all those who cross the threshold of Grace. I want to thank you on behalf of the entire Grace family for your gracious and faithful service.
