F.A.Q.s about Metal RoofingWhy spend more for a metal roof?Ordinary roofing materials have shorter life spans and will need to be replaced regularly, especially in areas that see an influx of hot and cold temperatures, coupled with high weather activity. Can I walk on my metal roof?Since a Vicwest metal roof requires virtually no maintenance, there should be no reason to do so – but in essence, yes! However, like any roof, care should be exercised. You can discuss specific details about walking on your roof with your installation company.

Are metal roofs noisy when it rains?This is a common misconception. Installed with solid sheathing and adequate attic insulation, your metal roof should actually be quieter than other roofing materials.

Will my metal roof attract lightning strikes?No! Although it is metal, lightning is not drawn to it. Lightning typically strikes the highest object in an area like trees, hydro poles, towers and antennas.
