    In an organization,it is a collective social unit created by a group of people to accomplishspecific goals.In order to streamline its functions and attain its objectives,organizationsneed to develop and adopt certain strategies and policies.Mr Ratan Mohan president of thefarm bankfelt that the bank needed to modernize its operations and with the approval of directors he decided to install MIS.This strategy is a goal oriented decision and action

    matching organizations resources and skills with threat and opportunity in the environment.

    Mr mohan felt that the primary goal of mis would be to improve internal operations bysupplying necessary informations and so it would decrease the time to serve thecustomers.It would also help by providing economic operating data,necessary for topmanagement to formulate decisions and new strategies.

    Anand was selected as the head of this department.As the system was installed he hiredLata Sikand as his assistant with strong system analysis background and also a mba,theonly one in the organization.

    As time flew president mohan found only a littlke improvement in the organization withthe new MIS functions.The level of decision making by the vice- presidents were also samewith additional information also.So he decided Lata to have a survey of the MIS users toevaluate the benefits and impacts of the new system.

    As lata analyse the survey data few important points came out,they are:-

    1. 93% reported that they did not regularly use the reports because it was hard tointerpret.

    2. 46% stated they received more data than they wanted3. 57% reported finding some errors and inaccuracies

    4. 87% stated that they still kept manual records as they dont trust MIS fully.

    As Lata showed the report to Anand, he told not to tell anything to the boss as he wouldnot like this kind of stuff in his organization.they will try to fix the problems as muchasthey can.But Lata was not satisfied with the answer she got from her boss.

    The problems that the organization was facing are:-

    1. The report should be immediately discussed with the president Mr mohan so he cantake any step to improve the matter.

    2. Secondly in the farms bank there are lack of KNOWLEDGE WORKERS.Linkedto the advances of the information technology workers should update themselves.

    3. The organization also plays a role in updating their workers.here in the farm bank the workers dont know how to deal with the newly installed MIS.

    4. before launching the MIS,Mr mohan should train his workers about the newlylaunched MIS.

    5. The workers dont know how to interpret the results of the MIS,and also they donttrust it fully.Where MIS is one of the most trustable system where one can getinformation from.

    6. farm bank need to recruit more mba graduates where they know how to deal andinterpret the results of the mis.

    7. Farm bank had gone through an organizational change but it was resistive to for theother workers as they did not cope up with the change.Farm bank needs aorganizational development to solve the problem.

    8. Paradigm is a way of thinking a principle or an idea that perpetuates itself.so itcreates a barrier to change our view of reality.So the the farmbank needs a shift to

    be functional.
