Gen. David Johnston announced Prince  William and his bride-to-be had accepted an invitation to take a royal tour of Canada Wednesday. Prime Minister Stephen Harper said the couple’s decision to come to Canada for their rst ocial post-wedding trip is a testament to the country’s close relationship with the royal family. “Canada looks forward to welcoming the young couple this summer and providing them with all that our country has to oer,” Harper said. “It is my sincere hope that their tour will be the start of a lasting relationship with Canada by the royal couple.”  As QMI Agency rst reported Tuesday, the royal couple will arrive in Ottawa on June 30 and depart from Calgary on July 8. ey will visit Quebec, Prince Edward Island, the Northwest Territories and Alberta.  Alberta Premier Ed Stelmach said Albertans were looking forward to welcoming the Royal Couple to our province in July. “It is a great honour to share the splendour of our province and the hospitality that Albertans are known for,” Stelmach said in a release. Heritage Minister James Moore said he expected Quebecers to be polite and respectful towards the royal couple. “I’m condent that Canadian hospitality extends from coast to coast, ” he said. e couple plans to celebrate July 1 in Ottawa,  just as William's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, did last year, Moore conrmed. ey will be here on Parliament Hill for Canada Day and I think it will be a great kick o to their visit to Canada, ” he sa id. Gov. Gen. David Johnston announced Prince William and his bride-to-be had accepted an invitationto take a royal tour of Canada Wednesday.
