The Philippines is the fastest-expanding major ASEAN economy in 2016! The IMF expects the Philippines to maintain a similar GDP growth in 2017 on the back of a series of continued demands and modest fiscal stimulus programs supported by the local government.

The Philippines automotive industry is seen sustaining its double-digit expansion even beyond 2020 when motor vehicle sales are expected to reach 500,000 units annually.
The Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines estimates that 2016, vehicle sales will reach 380,000 units. In 2020, the organisation predict that total sales could reach up to 510,000 units.
Riding on the growing automotive industry, the Philippines vision of the auto parts industry is to strengthen the country position as a significant automotive player in the medium-term and become a regional hub for vehicles and parts in Asia supported by a strong domestic supplier base.
The growth and expansion of domestic airlines such as Philippine Airlines (PAL), Cebu Pacific (CEB), and ZestAir are contributing to the development of the Aerospace & MRO industry.
In 2016, the electronics industry accounted for 49 percent of the total Philippines exports, directly employed over 2.3 million, and had a total of P80.78 billion investments for the country.
The Philippines semiconductors and electronics industry is the largest contributor to the country's manufacturing sector.
Due to its robust effects on other manufacturing sectors of the industries, Petrochemicals has a strategic impact on the country's industrial development including construction, telecommunications, electrical and electronics, automotive and pharmaceutical, among others.
The rapid Infrastructure development in the Philippines coupled with robust internal spending on residential & office building has shifted in a high gear for iron and steel products domestically and regionally.
The development potential for the industry remains high, as manufacturers are constantly upgrading to a higher value-added manufacturing to meet global demand.
The Philippines aerospace industry aims to make the country a major hub for manufacturing of original equipment manufacturing (OEM) parts and allied services, such as maintenance, repair and overhauling (MRO), for the global commercial aircraft industry.
The petrochemicals industry aims to achieve self-sufficiency in vital resin supply and increase petrochemical sector's contribution to a total of Philippines GDP from Php 44B in 2010 to Php 113B in 2018 & Php 215B by 2025 through the progressive integration of upstream, midstream & downstream components of the sector
By 2030, the Philippines Iron and Steel Industry sees itself as a majority producer of quality steel products for domestic users. This vision can be achieved when the industry is able to supply 70% of the tonnage of required apparent steel consumption for sustainable economic development in 2030.
