Example I taken from an IOT
Problem : When a new session initiated by AS sends INVITE to S-CSCF, 404 failure response is returned by S-CSCF.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Description:
There are scenarios , where the AS wants to initiate a new session with a destination that may be a CS user. The terminating I/S-CSCF could reject the INVITE request, because the destination is not a IMS user.
Issue:A special transit function is defined in 3GPP, supporting such scenarios. But not all manufacturers (S-CSCF) support this function.
Recommendation:Modify the specification, so that all S-CSCFs are required to support
the transit function.
Example II taken from an IOT
Problem: An IP Centrex session with tel uri initiated by AS is rejected by S-CSCF
------------------------------------------------------------------Description:By IP Centrex, an AS replaces the caller’s display information in the from header by short number. Then, when AS forwards the INVITE request to S-CSCF the request is rejectedrequest to S-CSCF, the request is rejected.
Issue:Some manufacturers‘ S-CSCF check TEL URI strictly according to RFC 3966. But the short number can not be written in an tel uri which complies with the standard.
Recommendation:All S-CSCF is required to support the special TEL URI.
Example III taken from an IOT
Problem: The length of from-tag is too long which makes S-CSCF return 500 failure response.
------------------------------------------------------------------Description:In MMTEL AS IOT scenarios, some AS initiates an INVITE request with a too long from-tag. When S-CSCF receives the request, it will return 500 error responsereturn 500 error response.
Issue:The length of from-tag is not clearly defined in 3GPP, therefore different S-CSCF manufacturers define different length limits
Recommendation:Modify the specification, so that all S-CSCFs are required to support 64 bytes length of tag.
