• Collaboration is on the increase – driven by HLG aims, MSIS, SAB

• Recent SIS-CC and example – 50 participants from 21 organisations

• A good thing – but comes with its own challenges…

• Additional complexity of project management• Aligning priorities of all partners• More partners = more management effort…

• Reflects the increasing importance of collaborating on statistical activities between statistical organisations, both at national and international level.

• Collaboration is a strategic activity for the statistical community and is recognised as such in the aims of the High-Level Group for Modernisation of Statistical Processes (HLG).

• Collaboration is key to improve efficiency and move towards the ‘industrialisation’ of statistical processing.

• The use of a common platform also enables the implementation of statistical standards such as SDMX to facilitate data exchange, and allows for the creation of joint statistical outputs.
