Phase 2

Construction works for Phase 2 is

planned to be split into two phases.

Initially Phase 2a will include the

widening of the road at Cowstead

Corner Roundabout, the construction

of the new footway/cycleway between

Cowstead Corner and Barton Hill Drive

and installation of associated surface

water drainage.

Should further funding become

available the intention is to construct

Phase 2b which will widen the existing

Lower Road up to the new roundabout

at Barton Hill Drive and to also provide

a right turn lane into Wall End Farm.

Planned Temporary Traffic

Signals

The early works on Phase 2a will

require the use of two way temporary

traffic signals on Lower Road where

restricted road widths dictate. The

signals will be in place weekdays and

will be manually controlled. Where

temporary traffic control is not

necessary works will be undertaken

within coned verges. It will be

necessary for works access points to

be located along the road in order for

the contractor to gain access to

works areas.

Latest Progress

Phase 1 construction of the new roundabout is now complete with traffic now

having full use of the new roundabout at Barton Hill Drive.
