Pictello (iPad, iPhone and iPod touch). Apple’s built-in photo picker can cut the top or bottom off of portrait photos. This tutorial offers a workaround by copying the photo from your Photos app and pasting it into Pictello. Open the Photos app on your device and find the picture you want to use. Tap the photo you want to copy. Only tap one photo. Then tap the Action button in the bottom-left of the screen. You will see several options. Select Copy. This will copy the photo to the device clipboard without cropping the top and bottom of the photo. Open Pictello and edit your story in either Wizard or Expert mode. This screen shot is in Wizard mode, but you can also use Expert. Tap on the picture frame to get choices for where to get a picture. Select Paste Picture from the list of choices. The full picture is now in the story. Repeat these steps, going back and forth between the Photos app and Pictello as often as needed for additional portrait orientation photos. You do not need to exit editing the story in Pictello to switch to the Photos app - Pictello will save your work for you automatically. Here is how the picture will look in the finished story.
