Logging onto the VPN

IMPORTANT: USERS MUST HAVE ADMIN RIGHTS ON THE COMPUTER THEY ARE USING TO VPN INTO THE NETWORK. THEY MUST BE ABLE TO INSTALL PROGRAMS ON THAT COMPUTER.  

 

1) Open your Internet Browser and please add the following two URLs to the trusted list on your computer: http://webvpn.ladwp.com https:/webvpn.ladwp.com 

 

  On your browser select “Tools”  “Internet Options” 

 

   

 

 “Security Tab”  “Trusted Sites”  “Sites Button” 

 

 2) In order to add http://webvpn.ladwp.com on some browers, you may have to do the following: 

Unselect the “Require server verification” box and then add http://webvpn.ladwp.com to the list. Then re­check this box.  

 

 3) Once you have added both url’s to the trusted sites, please close your Internet Explorer window.  

This only has to be done one‐time.  

 4) Open your Internet Explorer, and in the address bar, type in the following url: 

https://webvpn.ladwp.com  

  

 5) You will arrive to a screen like this: 

 Select your group: 

Employee  Contractor (future) 

Note:  

Because Active Directory has been “cleaned up” Joint and Power Users Only, can now just type in the username with no group name, like this: 

Username: schave 

Password: *********** 

However, the VPN will also accept, joint\username or distribution\username, too!  

Water Users must type wso_users\username: 

Username: wso_users\schave 

Password: *********** 

Type in your network username and password.  

 

 

6) If your logging was successful you will arrive to this page: 

 

 

 

 

If your logging failed, you will arrive to this page. Please check your credentials and try again: 

 

    

 

7) Once the installation is complete, you are fully onto the corporate network.  

   

8) You can verify your corporate network connectivity double clicking the AnyConnect Icon in your tray: 

  

  Look to see that: Connection State:                                                                                         Connected Client Address falls within this range:                                 10.60.12.1 – 10.60.15.254 Server Address is:                                                                                   134.201.254.10 

9) To Disconnect for VPN: 

Have the VPN Client software open and Select Connection Tab  and then push the Disconnect button: 

 

 

10) To connect again in the future the client remains installed on your computer. You can access it by going to  

Start  All Programs  Cisco  Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client 

 

Enter your Username and Password.

Trouble Shooting:  

If you get this Security Warning when you attempt to access http://webvpn.ladwp.com, this means that you have not added http://webvpn.ladwp.com to your trusted websites.  

 

You can simply press Yes and continue on, or you can add the website by following step 2.  

 

 

If  AnyConnect fails to install, users can still manually install AnyConnect Like this: 

 

 

 

 

You arrive to this screen if AnyConnect fails to install. Select the blue link “Windows 7/Vista/64/XP” 

 

Select “Run” 

 

 

Select “Run” once more.  

 

Select “Next” on the Client Setup Wizard.  

 

 

Select “Repair”  

 

 

Select “Finish” 

 

Go “Start”  “All Programs”  “Cisco”  and select the “Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client”  

 

When the software opens, verify that it says “webvpn.ladwp.com” on the “Connect to:” section. If not, please type in: webvpn.ladwp.com.  

Once this is done, press the “select” button.  

 

 

Type in your network credentials and press “connect”   

 

You are now connected to the VPN.
