Important Information about Your Amerigroup Health Plan

How to Get Family Planning Services Amerigroup will arrange for counseling and education about planning and preventing pregnancy. You can call your PCP and make an appointment for a visit. You can also go to any Medicaid family planning provider (OB/GYNs, health departments, etc.) without a referral.

You can call Member Services toll free at 1-800-600-4441 for help.

How to Get Well-care Visits for Children Well-care visits are medical checkups that help children stay healthy. Babies and children need more care to get a good start in life. These visits also help doctors find health problems early when it is easiest to take care of them.

During a checkup, your child will get: Height and weight checks Immunizations Tests for TB, lead and other health issues Eye and ear tests Tips about safety and health

You can get well-care visits for children younger than age 21 from any Amerigroup network provider. If you need help finding a PCP for your child, please call our Member Services department at 1-800-600-4441 toll free.

How to Get Behavioral Health (Mental Health and Substance Abuse) Services Mental health services are available to you without a referral from your PCP if you have Medicaid/FAMIS Plus or FAMIS. If you have FAMIS benefits, you can also get substance abuse services. Although substance abuse services are not covered for those with Medicaid/FAMIS Plus benefits, we will try to help you find a substance abuse provider.
