What is Emotional Intelligence
Emotional intelligence is the capacity for effectively recognizing and managing our own emotions and those of
others. It includes our ability to build and maintain healthy working relationships in and out of the workplace.
Emotions have the potential to get in the way of our most important business and personal relationships. According to
John Kotter of Harvard Business School:
“Because of the furious pace of change in business today, it is difficult to manage relationships. This sabotages more business than
anything else - it is not a question of strategy that gets us into trouble, it is a question of emotions.”

We need to ask: What am I spreading?
What Does This Mean?
We have trouble treating ourselves as Human-Doings not Human-Beings
We look at others as tools in which to accomplish our tasks
We are loosing our ability to connect empathically and understand each other for better performance and cooperation
