What is PULSE? PULSE – Promissor Uniform Licensing Solution for E-

Government

PULSE allows for an on-line registration renewal process that will allow individuals to:

Renew their nurse aide registration Update address Initiate name and SSN# changes

Address updates may be done independent of the renewal process as well as requests for a duplicate registration card

Facilities will be able to update employment history for individuals who are newly hired or terminated

Changes to the Renewal Process

New

• Renewal Notice/Application mailed 60-90 days prior to expiration date

• Aide can immediately renew on-line

in real-time :• Update demographic information• If applicable, aide will see

deficiencies on-line

• Will receive immediate confirmation if registration successfully renewed

• User friendly on-line renewal instructions provided

• Renewal Notice/Application mailed 60-90 days prior to expiration date

• Completed application returned by nurse aide –

• 30% returned within 30 days• 95% processed < 5 days• Potential for error in reading

handwriting• Aide must wait to receive in the mail

a deficiency letter if problems with application – Currently, 20% receive deficiency letters

• Must wait to receive word from Promissor if successfully renewed
