Number of People Served: 8,126 IMPACT Awareness raises community consciousness about risky social behaviors and promotes healthy lifestyles. Number of People Served: 10,456 IMPACT Workplace Services provides consultation, training and employee assistance programming to maximize productivity, promote conflict resolution strategies and foster a healthier work environment. Number of People Served: 3,807 Status: In (several) Relationships IMPACT is committed to community-wide, multi-dimensional collaborations which promote system-wide efficiency. Clients are directed to resources that fit their individual needs in a respectful and straightforward manner, thereby helping alleviate problems in the early stages when they’re easier and less costly to address. Service providers receive referrals that are specific to their cause. Other community organizations can rely on IMPACT to provide their clients with referrals for resources that fall outside their mission. And, the valuable data we collect helps funders, stakeholders, and policy makers deploy resources to address unmet needs and emerging trends in an effort to improve conditions in our community. In 2011, we strengthened our relationship with the Hunger Task Force through the “Kids Eat Free” summer meals program; the Milwaukee County Continuum of Care by helping develop a coordinated entry system for individuals and families seeking emergency shelter; and numerous alcohol and drug treatment providers in an effort to achieve a higher level of customer service. A new collaboration with the Milwaukee Health Department and Project Launch placed IMPACT 2-1-1 in the important role of connecting parents with information and resources to help raise healthy children. Looking forward, successful collaboration will become even more critical to meet the need for enhanced efficiency. This will require good planning; a clear understanding of what people really need to be healthy and productive; and for each component of the collaboration to be of the highest quality to do what it does best. Inspiring Change IMPACT strives to use its resources wisely but, with customer service as a core value of the organization, efficiency never comes at the expense of or compassion and respect. By the very nature of its services, IMPACT helps a very large number of people in our community — 165,000 in 2011 alone. Our approach to customer service, and ability to measure the quality of our referrals, ensures that each person receives the best chance at making a positive, sustained change. Let me assure you that the board is vigilant in monitoring efficiency. It is a credit to IMPACT leadership and staff who deliver quality services that manage to produce outcomes which prove the voice of the customer is also important: 98% of clients report in follow-up that they feel the services received from IMPACT were not only helpful, but respectful. THANK YOU TO OUR GENEROUS 2011 DONORS ,IMPACT Board Member or Employee

IMPACT is a United Way Community Partner

We apologize for any errors or omissions that may have been made in recognizing our donors.

IMPACT’s history is rooted in providing resources to help people address alcohol and other drugs, including efforts to prevent youth alcohol, tobacco and other drug use. Through a grant from Fighting Back, IMPACT initiated “We’re Not Buying It” an underage drinking prevention social media campaign at area high schools.

IMPACT 2-1-1 remained on the cutting-edge of technology by implementing the IMPACT 2-1-1 online database service center. Through special grants from the United Way of Greater Milwaukee and the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, this additional portal of access to IMPACT 2-1-1 allows individuals to independently search for community resources.

Since 2004, the IMPACT 2-1-1 Intern & Volunteer Resource Programhas helped student interns and volunteers help the community as they gain valuable workplace skills. A grant from the Harley-Davidson Foundation helped establish the program, andthis founding partner continued its support in 2011.

IMPACT 2-1-1 continued to be a lifeline for the 154,092 people who contacted the service for assistance in accessing community resources. Because of special grants provided by the following community partners, IMPACT 2-1-1 was able to connect 65,012 people to critical basic needs like food, shelter and healthcare:
