CELEBRATION 10 th ANNIVERSARY NIGHT REVIVAL II - 19 AUG 2011 NIGHT REVIVAL I Impact Conference 2011 commenced with a great and festive opening celebration on the evening of Thursday 18 August 2011 . From 3 o’clock in the afternoon, participants from over 20 countries rushed to register, in eager anticipation, to join the long-awaited conference that was held in conjunction with the 10th anniversary celebrations of Bethany Church Singapore (BCS). All preparations were well made by the committee to present a memorable conference over 3 days (18-20 August 2011) with the hope that it will make an impact on the community and even the nations. Ps. Chandra Wong opened the celebration service with a prayer followed by a Bethany Church Singapore (BCS) dance presentation. The event moved quickly toward the highlight as the praise and worship team, together with the BCS choir, led the participants to usher in the presence of God, before Ps. Djohan Handojo, BCS’ Senior Pastor, officially opened the conference. Ps. Bill Wilson, who is known for his worldwide Sunday school ministry (Metro Ministry), shared God’s message. In his message that was taken from Amos 3:12, there were 3 points on how we, as God’s servants, could make an impact viz urgency, needs and our heart. “We do not have to wait for God’s “call” to serve Him. Just look around us and start taking action in Jesus’ Name. That is why we need a heart like Jesus. Believe that He will give us the strength to be the answer,” he said. Ps. Niko Njotorahardjo spoke about how God established His church in Singapore. It started when Ps. Niko received a vision from God twenty-three years ago to restore the tabernacle of David. The tabernacle of David speaks about prayer, praise and worship together, night and day. It has three facets, i.e. the tangible presence of God, the manifest anointing of God and the powerful praying in tongue in Holy Spirit. In obedience to the vision, Ps. Niko planted churches in many places, including Singapore, in 1995. The Singapore church has been developing ever since and in 2001, Bethany Church Singapore (BCS) was officially registered as a society (church) in Singapore. Ps. Niko recounted how BCS first started in Mdm. Ping’s house. He faced quite a challenge at that time, i.e. the number of attendees fluctuated, there was lack of response from the early congregation, and there was even a rumor that Ps. Niko did not come to Singapore for ministry but for a vacation! Then he asked God to give him a sign whether he was to continue his ministry in Singapore or not, and God answered him in a wonderful way. Finally, Ps. Niko said that if the members of BCS truly captured the vision (of the restoration of the tabernacle of David), he was certain that BCS will move forward in a more amazing way in her 11th year. impact conference AUGUST 2011

NIGHTREVIVAL I

Impact Conference 2011 commenced with a great and festive opening celebration on the evening of Thursday 18 August 2011 .

Ps. Niko Njotorahardjo spoke about how God

established His church in Singapore. It started

when Ps. Niko received a vision from God

twenty-three years ago to restore the tabernacle

of David.

The tabernacle of David speaks about prayer,

praise and worship together, night and day. It

has three facets, i.e. the tangible presence of

God, the manifest anointing of God and the

powerful praying in tongue in Holy Spirit.

In obedience to the vision, Ps. Niko planted

churches in many places, including Singapore,

in 1995. The Singapore church has been

developing ever since and in 2001, Bethany

Church Singapore (BCS) was officially registered

as a society (church) in Singapore.

Ps. Niko recounted how BCS first started in

Mdm. Ping’s house. He faced quite a challenge

at that time, i.e. the number of attendees

fluctuated, there was lack of response from the

early congregation, and there was even a rumor

that Ps. Niko did not come to Singapore for

ministry but for a vacation! Then he asked God

to give him a sign whether he was to continue

his ministry in Singapore or not, and God

answered him in a wonderful way.

Finally, Ps. Niko said that if the members of

BCS truly captured the vision (of the restoration

of the tabernacle of David), he was certain that

BCS will move forward in a more amazing way

in her 11th year.

In his session, Mr. Peter Daniels shared many interesting leadership lessons that most, if not all, schools of business in the world do not teach. Here are some : “A mark of a great leader is that he/ she instills fear and respect in the early stages of leadership. Leaders must carry themselves in ways that others will respect them. In themselves, leaders are individuals who get their inspiration best when they are alone. Christians are called to be leaders and it is time that they take the leadership and lead the way.”

Mr. Daniels then went on to share his conviction that Christians should be owners of businesses and not merely employees. This way, as Christians, we can impact the economy of the world. There are many other good reasons why Christians should be leaders. Some examples are that we would have freedom for ourselves, we may decide on our own standards, have more flexible time to be with our family, instill faith, be able to apply Kingdom principles, be able to make profit and to invest in our next generation, avoid unemployment, to establish reputation and pass down good family values.

In this track Ps. Bill Wilson spoke about “King Maker”. He took an example from the life of Joseph during the time before and after Jesus was born. Joseph received a noble task from God when he decided to be a husband to Mary, who had conceived a baby (Jesus, the Messiah). In actual fact, Joseph went through a difficult time preparing for the birth of Jesus.

What do we do when our life does not go according to our plans? Ps. Bill explained three lessons from the life of Joseph. Joseph did not become a prominent figure by becoming the “father” of Jesus the king. However, that was not an issue for him. He understood that he would not be a king but that he was preparing for the King. What Joseph did was, firstly, he provided a place. Even though it was difficult to find a place, he finally found a manger. Secondly, Joseph prepared his position to do his best to take care of and prepare everything for Jesus. Thirdly, he persevered. Even though King Herod threatened to kill baby Jesus, Joseph was faithful to protect Mary and baby Jesus. Finally Joseph succeeded as a “King maker”.

BUSINESS&MARKETPLACE//Mr. PETER J. DANIELS

MEN//BILL WILSON

Ps. Becky Fischer then took the pulpit and started with a galvanizing statement: “I teach children in Sunday schools to cast out demons and raise the dead.” She continued to share how American church style has colored the way Sunday schools around the world are run, with children merely coloring, and teachers sharing Bible stories and giving away chocolates. The result is saddening, she added. Based on research done in America, 70% of children who attend Sunday school left the church once they became teenagers and they had no plans to come back to church. Ps.Becky went on to state that children’s ministry has never been more important in these end times, not only because children represent one third of the world’s population but also because children represent the best soil type where good things can be easily sown and nurtured.

During the children’s track, Ps. Becky shared two basic things about children’s ministry. First, before we can instill discipline in children, it is important to get the children’s attention. Second, this is the time to teach children the depth of God’s word and not just use the old usual ways for when they understand the essence of God’s Word, children will be drawn to God’s presence.

“This is the time for the church to arise and change her paradigm about children’s ministry. It is time that children arise and be Christ’s army on a higher level and be ready to act supernaturally to reveal God’s glory.”

During his thirty-minute session in the

morning of 19 August 2011, Ps. Djohan

declared that impact begins in our hearts. “We

are the salt and the light on this earth and

therefore we too should impact this world to

bring better, positive changes.”

Ps Djohan elaborated on the educational

equality program that BCS facilitated, which

provided teaching programs for Indonesian

domestic workers at no cost to the student.

“ Through this ministry, the church is able

to help to improve the domestic workers’

educational level and give them a better future.

This ministry has become a blessing for more

than 200 domestic workers in Singapore.”

LEADERSHIP//Ps. BILL WILSON

Ps. Bill Wilson, in his session on leadership, shared about the mark of a true leader. “A great true leader is someone who is expected to bring people in the right direction and make efforts to do impactful things in his life. He or she should not easily give up and must have the right vision from God, for God’s kingdom speaks about leadership.”

“Do not expect something to come easily for there is no easy road to shape a leader. Have the willingness to go through process in order to make an impact on the family, community and nations.” Ps. Bill went on to share five facts of leadership: a. to have a relationship with God (Luke 24:14), b. to be open to God’s rebuke (Acts 9:3), c. to have compassion (Luke 10:25), d. to be willing to sacrifice and obey (John 19) and e. to have courage to make decisions. A successful leader will make an impact on many people.

END TIMES//Capt. AMIR TSARFATIIn his track, Capt. Amir Tsarfati shared

how the Old Testament conceals the New Testament while the New Testament reveals the Old Testament. “In His Word, God announces and declares His plan (Isaiah 46:8-10) and declares that His festivals are just the shadow while the substance of the festivals is in Christ (Colossians 2:16-17).”

According to Leviticus 23, there are seven festivals of the Lord: Passover (the Crucifixion of Christ), Feast of Unleavened Bread (Jesus the Bread of life), Feast of First Fruits (Resurrection of Christ), Feast of Weeks (Pentecost), Feast of Trumpets (re-birth of Church and Israel in 1948), Feast of Atonement (Israel’s salvation), Feast of Tabernacles (the banquet of the Lamb of God).

During his second track, Capt. Amir spoke on the current condition of the Middle East, Europe and the rise of the anti-Christ. It is

widely known that there is a rise of a new world order where the spirit of the world tries to control the world through religion, government and economy. God is still the sovereign Lord. He allows things to happen in preparation for His second coming.

YOUTH&TEENS//

Ps. DAN LIANPs. Dan Lian shared the importance of

passion especially in youth ministry. “Often we

give up too easily even though we join many

seminars and conferences on youth ministry.

That is because we do not see that our

community experiences changes.”

He then shared from Mark 6:30 where God

longs to reveal His glory and still uses us as

His vessels. God sees what we have as basic

capital to invest in youth ministry. He always

starts with what we already have to reach the

youths. Often we ask God for things before we

start, but He has a different perspective for

He asks for things that we already have. When

we ask for passion for the youth ministry, look

within us for God has given passion to us even

before we realize it.

PRAYER&PROPHETIC//Dr. ALICE SMITH

In the prayer track on day 2, Dr. Alice Smith shared about two types of strongholds that can take be found in our lives. The first, called “Holy Stronghold”, is a mindset that is based on the Bible and which influences the way we live our lives on a daily basis. The second type is “Unholy Stronghold” which consists of lies that the enemy puts into our thinking. This originates from family beliefs, trauma, influence of the world and generational curses.

To break the “Unholy Stronghold” we have to first to identify the ‘strong man’, which usually is the spirit of fear, spirit of anti-Christ, spirit of jealousy and so on. When we have identified the spirits that bind us, we then must come before God, confess our sins and repent. Next, we have to stand boldly and cast those spirits out from our families and from our lives in the name of Jesus Christ. Lastly, we have to release forgiveness to all those around us, because God has forgiven us first.

PRAISE&WORSHIP//Ps. FLOYD ELSWORTH

DANCE//Ms. MARY JONES

Ps. Floyd Ellsworth shared the longing of God for us to come with singing (Psalm 100:2) and how music actually existed even before creation. When we sing, we actually participate in something that belongs to Heaven. There was no music that did not glorify God before the fall of Lucifer who was the worship leader in Heaven. But after he fell, he did not want us to know the power of music and songs presented to God or the truth that God, whom we serve, actually sings and He sings over us (Zephaniah 3:17).

In Hebrews, it is said that God chooses to dwell in us and among us. His love for us does not change even though our love for Him may not be as great as His love for us. Let us arise to praise and worship Him in Spirit and in truth.

The dance session, conducted by Ms Mary Jones, which was attended mostly by women focused on Psalm 149:3-4 where it says that God wants His people to dance for Him. “Dance is a symbol of our total surrender to God where we can praise and worship Him with our entire spirit, body and soul. Dance is an expression of our love for Him.”

In the past, the people of Israel did not separate body, soul and spirit. They worshipped and praised God with their entire being. Dance was part of their worship. Unfortunately in the history of the church, owing to the influence of Greek culture, dance disappeared from the church. But praise God, in these days dance has started to come back to His church.

At the end of her session, Ms. Jones invited all participants to practice few basic dance movements that carry certain prophetic meanings. By understanding these basic movements, the participants will be able to develop a complete dance to be danced during service.

Ps. Mark McClendon started his session by sharing how powerful media is to make impact. When we talk about media from a biblical aspect, we see that we need to use media as a tool of harvest in these end times. Ps Mark shared about the history of media and how in the beginning of the year 2000 most people were merely interested in products, but there has been a major shift of interest in content ever since.

“Just imagine what you can do when using media to broadcast your sermon. We need to understand that media refers to the airwaves, wi-fi, satellite etc. Implicitly, there is a strong Gospel message in Revelation 14:14-16 that speaks about how the world will, one day, be harvested through the “air”.

The challenge that the church faces in these end times is to win over the young generation especially children. If not, the church risks losing them entirely. It is a bitter reality that what is offered by the media today draws the young people away from God. We are in great need of a media army through radio, TV and the Internet.

Mr. Eko Nugroho started by sharing what authentic Christianity really means. He then shared on how we now see mobile technology getting more advanced each day and polluting the paradigm of many people. That leaves us with a question: do we really love people?

The truth is many people come to Jesus not because Jesus instills His teaching first, but because He cares. The success component of evangelism lies in the content. We can make content for both believers and unbelievers from entertainment and introduce Christian values. We are the Bible that the world reads. Jesus in His time was the media, saving many people. We are the media.
