PROGRAMMES
Vibrant Postgraduate and Postdoctoral Community
Create a vibrant and ambitious postgraduate and postdoctoral community; attracting, retaining, and developing the very best talent.
Connecting to Tackle Global Challenges
Reshape how we organise research to work with one another and with partners to yield solutions to the world’s most difficult problems.
Culture of Research Ambition
Inspire the next generation of world-class researchers, not just as individuals but as leaders and motivators of others.
GLOBAL RESEARCHINSTITUTES
Our Global Research Institutes bring researchers from different disciplines
together on a scale that enables them to address major societal challenges
Through Pioneer Research Programmes, we stimulate novel interdisciplinary research collaborations to tackle challenges emerging on the global horizon
Excellent research conducted by researchers working in a range of core disciplines is the foundation for our research success, as demonstrated through the results of REF 2014

PostgraduateResearch The Graduate School provides an exclusive postgraduate hub for taught and research students. Based in the restored and remodelled Lynn Building, it was opened as a library in 1858. This fully-accessible refurbished space has modern, hi-tech group study rooms, a silent study area, and social spaces, creating a vibrant hub for intellectual exchange and collaboration.
The Queen’s postgraduate experience is embedded in the Masters or PhD programme, but is also so much more. The Graduate School is about intellectual challenge beyond disciplinary borders, personal effectiveness and skills development, promoting a culture of opportunity and enterprise, and a rich, diverse, inclusive social community.
There are five pillars which guide students’ experience through the Graduate School.
