Meaningful Use Basics

Meaningful Use Process

• MU 1 – 13 core objectives and 5 of the 10 Menu measures. – One of the 5 must be a Public Health

Objective (immunization data or syndromic data)

• Performed at least one test of certified EHR technology’s (CEHRT) capacity to submit electronic data to immunization registries and follow up submission if the test is successful. Even if the test fails, they have successfully met this objective

Meaningful Use Process

• MU 2 – 17 core objectives and 3 Menu measures

• Attestation Requirements-Successful ongoing submission of electronic immunization data from CEHRT to an immunization registry.

• All HL7 providers (and vendors soon) must enroll with ImmPRINT Provider Site Agreement

• After receiving user access approval, login to ImmPRINT, your Site ID will be display. When prompted, this Site ID must be entered in MU. The Site ID will be used to connect ImmPRINT and MU.

• Register in the ADPH Security Portal

• The provider will be asked for Site ID in MU, after selecting Immunization. The Site ID will be added to the Vendor Facility Guide (VFG) to create your security credentials.

• The vendor will complete NIST Message Structure Validation and validation review

• Vendors will configure the test environment and test data will be sent to the test environment until cases are successfully completed with no errors

• Pilot Production Testing (PPT) is real patient data. Data will be monitored for data and technical errors. PPT duration will depend on volume

• Production Testing Phase the site has moved to production. All HL7 vendors and providers must monitor HL7 Error reports for first month after production data will be available in the ImmPRINT

Error Report

• IPV with CVX Code 10 given on 17-NOV- 15 was rejected as a shot in the same Vaccine Family Group already exist in the Registry

• LOT number is missing for an encountered Shot -INFLUENZA, LIVE, INTRANASAL, QUADRIVALENT with CVX Code 149 given on 20-NOV-15

• NPI number is missing for an encountered Shot -INFLUENZA, SEASONAL, INJECTABLE, PRESERVATIVE FREE with CVX Code 140 given on 04-NOV-15

Error Report

• HIB (HBOC) with CVX Code 47 given on 10-MAR-15 was rejected as the vaccine was not active during that time

• PNEUMOCOCCAL CONJUGATE PCV 13 with CVX Code 133 given on 04-JUN-01 was rejected as the vaccine was not active during that time

• DTAP, 5 PERTUSSIS ANTIGENS with CVX Code 106 given on 18-JUN-99 was rejected as the vaccine was not active during that time
