Additional Observations (February 2016) Having clearly been produced after the arrival of Mr Holmes as Headmaster at the beginning of 1949, some of the information in this prospectus was inevitably out of date by 1958. Boxing had ceased, although the gym equipment housed at the end of the corridor outside the dining room still included pairs of boxing gloves. The Big School illustrated had become the Dining Room, whilst the dining room depicted was by then employed as the location of Form 3. Later it would become Form 4, before eventually being used as the library. All other classrooms were located in Bushbury, except during the summer of 1960, when the Modelling Room played host to Form 3b, during its single term of existence. Not all arrangements remained so stringent as some outlined under the subheading Health. Bathing continued at Ladye Bay until the construction of the swimming pool on the playing field in 1961. The dormitory drawing is of Grayburn, named after former pupil Lt John Hollington Grayburn VC, who had died at Arnhem on 20 September 1944.
