2 | IMMACULATE CONCEPTION PARISH - MALDEN/MEDFORD
be more difficult and take greater commitment than last year’s efforts, simply because we are working upon the energy and toil we made last year. I ask you to please stay with me in this daunting task. Encouraged by last year’s gains, let’s take all our adrenaline, all our determination and commit ourselves to balancing the deficit. Just as when a parish has a Capitol Campaign it usually calls for all parties involved to make a three year commitment…and so, we must once again commit ourselves to working together for the good of Immaculate Conception Parish, for our spiritual and financial well being. Hopefully, we can count on every one of our parishioners to do their part in increasing our income by donating at least $3.00 extra each week to the Offertory Collection and by pledging at least $350.00 to this year’s Annual Collection. Together we can and will balance our finances and stabilize the budget, allowing for our children and their children to a secure future in this great Parish.
Sincerely in Christ,
Father Albert L. Capone
Collection at Masses … $ 7,871.00 in the mail … 1,130.00 on line giving … 583.00 Weekly Offertory - Total … $ 9,584.00
Thank you for your continued support and generosity, your kindness is vital for the financial health and future of our Parish. May God bless you always.
PARISH ANNUAL FINANCIAL REPORT Please find the Parish Annual Financial Report for Fiscal Year ending June 30, 2016 on the opposite page. We have also included reports for the previous two years for comparison. As one can readily see we made a huge impact on last year’s $290,000 deficit by cutting it in half, reducing our annual deficit to $146,000 for 2015-16, the lowest it has been in four years. Yet, even with all the strides we made last year, I was disappointed, I truly thought we would come in under one hundred thousand dollars. Our financial advisors tell me that what we did by cutting our deficit in half last year was a tremendous feat. They also explained that it took several years to create such a large deficit, that it will take a few years to eliminate the loss and bring us to a balanced report. Again, remember that a deficit means that our expenses are more than our income. Thankfully we have some savings in the bank and money invested by the Archdiocese of Boston that keep us out of debt. All our bills are paid, still we are using our savings rapidly, which forces us to struggle just as quickly to balance the deficit. Consequently, we are challenged with the same issues as we were last year at this time. The deficit must be reversed! To this end we must continue with last year’s three stage plan: increased giving through the Offertory Collection and the Annual Collection, parish fundraisers and further cuts in spending. If we do not persist with these actions, in just a few years we will have exhausted all of our parish savings. As we have worked together this past year in addressing our financial woes, I have been pleased by your concern, support and contributions. These efforts are making a difference. Although, we are heading in a positive direction, the work ahead of us this year will

The State of Massachusetts requires an authorized signature from the submitting parish. We will be validating CORI Forms at all Masses on the weekend of October 29 and 30.
