BAPTISMS: Presenting a child for Baptism is a serious
obligation and requires a faith commitment on the part of the parents

active Catholic. Parents are obligated to attend a preparation session
before a child’s baptism if they have not attended one in the past
five years. Sessions are held at 1:15 p.m. on second Sundays of
January, March, May, July, September and November, in the Parish
Activity Center. Baptisms are at 1:15 p.m. on the third Sunday of
each month.
WEDDINGS: Please phone the parish office to set-up an
appointment with a priest, in order to begin the sacramental
preparation. Only after this initial meeting and assessment can a date
be set for the wedding. The process requires at least 6 months.

Immaculate
Conception
Church
THE NATIVITY OF SAINT JOHN THE BAPTIST, JUNE 24, 2018
July 1st is the Feast of the Precious Blood.
On this feast, we celebrate anniversaries of the
Precious Blood priests and brothers and renew our
calling as Missionaries of the Precious Blood. The
Feast of the Precious Blood is not only a celebration
for us as missionaries, but also for the parish
families where we serve. Our community has been
serving Immaculate Conception since the beginning
in 1863 with the first mass celebrated with Fr.
Bernard Dickman, C.PP.S. This makes us all part
of the Precious Blood family. To help us celebrate
our heritage in the Blood of Christ, the prayers and
readings for masses June 30th and July 1st will be
from the Proper of Masses for the Precious Blood
approved by the Holy See. We are grateful for the
opportunity to serve at Immaculate Conception. We
ask your prayers for our C.PP.S. members serving
locally and throughout the world. May God
continue to bless the C.PP.S. with many more
members who will dedicate their lives to
proclaiming the saving power of Jesus’ precious
blood to all people.
Fr. Ken & Fr. Vince
Lay Catholic Studies
The Athenaeum of Ohio Lay Pastoral
Ministry Program is sponsored by the Archdiocese
of Cincinnati and offers lay Catholics the
opportunity to grow in faith, knowledge and skills
in order to serve families, communities and the
Church more effectively. Since 1975, the LPMP has
equipped ordinary Catholics to accomplish
extraordinary things in the name of Christ.
Saturday morning and afternoon classes fit into
busy adult schedules, allowing participants to
maintain job, family and community commitments
while answering a call to deeper discipleship.
Classes count toward catechist certification and
serve as a prerequisite for application to the
permanent diaconate formation. Interviews are now
underway for fall classes at Sacred Heart of Jesus
in McCartyville. We are offering a 25% lay tuition
discount this year. Call Deacon Hal Belcher at 419-
305-5486 for information or to set up an interview.
Legacies and bequests help continue the
faith. Please remember Immaculate Conception
Parish in your will and expressions of sympathy.
