A chairde,

Athbhliain faoi shean is faoi mhaise do gach duine. (Happy New Year to all.)

The following are testament to your fantastic generosity:

Thanks for all the support for our Nativity Plays and Pageant. A total of € 2,009.00 was raised for the local St Vincent De Paul and Trim Meals on Wheels.

A total of € 1,455 was collected for a Non-uniform Day to “Bring Aisling (a past pupil) Home.” I am delighted to report that she arrived home safely on Friday last and has already started her rehab. Our prayers and best wishes are with her for a good recovery.

Pupils are requested to go directly to the playground in the mornings and not to line up outside their classrooms. School starts at 9.20 a.m. and pupils need to be in the playground by this time. When the teachers arrive out to collect the lines please stand well back and allow pupils access and right of way at all times. May I stress that parents/guardians do not drive through the staff car park at any time, as this endangers the safety of our pupils.

Green News

St Mary’s Green Flag Committee would like to wish our school community a very happy new year and look forward to lots more green initiatives in 2018. This year we will continue to promote recycling and eco-friendly waste management. We will continue our WOW and COW campaigns and we will pursue the theme of Energy under the Global Citizenship umbrella. At school we recycle batteries, postage stamps, cardboard, ink cartridges, small plastic bottles, mobile phones and cans. Well done to all who continue to support this initiative. Remember you can recycle your Christmas trees at the Recycling Centre for free. Our Energy Action Day will happen on February 2. So stay tuned for more details before then.

Remember Green is cool at home and at school and around the globe.
