IMDS & SoC Compliance Portal Brandi Farwig, Vehicle Safety & Regulatory Compliance (VSRC)
Compliance Portal Introduction
• The FCA IMDS / SoC Compliance Portal
was developed to provide a centralized
platform for Suppliers & Engineers to:
View IMDS requests and missing
records;
Provide feedback electronically on parts
containing Substances of Concern
(SoC); and
Receive notifications relating to quality
non-conformance issues for shipments
without IMDS
Portal Overview:
Functionality Overview:
• View missing and rejected IMDS record view with due
date < 30 days
• View KPI for total parts and respective IMDS status
(e.g. accepted, rejected, etc.)
• View parts containing SoC’s in ascending order based
on phase-out date < 6 months
• View KPI for total parts containing an SoC
Supplier Home Screen:
Functionality Overview:
• View and export part related data and IMDS status
• Data is sorted in ascending order based on due date
• Filter to specific records by part number, MYI, MYO,
due date, and IMDS status
• Receive automated notification for missing IMDS
records based on due date
IMDS Screen:
Functionality Overview:
• View, filter, and export parts containing SoC’s
o Record is < 6 months from an SoC phase-out
o Record is ≤ 1 year from an SoC phase-out
o Record is > 1 year from an SoC phase-out
• Submit response to for parts containing SoC’s
o YES – SoC will be removed before phase out
o NO – Part does not contain SoC, IMDS will be
updated
o ISSUE – SoC remove before phase out will
present issues
• Automated notification based on the phase-out date
SoC Screen:
Application Download Instructions:
• To access the portal, you must download the application from eSupplierConnect:
o https://fcagroup.esupplierconnect.com
oApplication download instructions:
o Select the NAFTA tab
o Select Request Applications
o Enter “IMDS Compliance Portal” into the application search query

GB/T 30512-2014 – China ELV
• Standard specifies prohibited substances in automobile complete vehicles and their components/parts products.
• The prohibited substances in this Standard refer to the following 6 substances specifically:
– Lead or its compounds – 0.1%
– Mercury or its compounds – 0.1%
– Cadmium or its compounds – 0.01%
– Hexavalent chromium – 0.1%
– Polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs) – 0.1%
– Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) – 0.1%
• Exemption of Prohibited Substance – Refer Table A1 in Document GB/T 30512-2014
• Physical SoC composition test certificates required for High Risk parts listed by China ELV
General Information/IMDS
• The part number and DUNS code in IMDS should match the information available in GQTS. The DUNS number is used to match up the IMDS approval to the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
• IMDS with Development Sample Report (DSR) checked is not acceptable for regular Production Part. GM no longer accepts prototype parts.
• % Tin calculation as per REACH XVII requirements: The calculation of the tin content
in the substance (e.g. for DBTO) is done using the molecular weight of both tin and the substance.
https://public.mdsystem.com/documents/10906/17094/faq_organo_tin_compounds.pdf
• Supplier has to carefully select the appropriate ELV Annex II Application Code based
on the application, prohibited substances and composition of the material.

Progression of TEMA IMDS Requirements
Past
• All current N.A. production parts & ELV parts as baseline data set for chemical management.
Current
• All new/changed* parts within 90 days of drawing release.
• Suppliers report proactively.
• Maintain data set for chemical management and compliance.
Next • Direct Purchased Material data collection (ex: resin, paint, etc) – Timing TBD.
• Expand to Accessory parts – Timing TBD. * See TEMA IMDS manual for detailed rules on changed parts.

Common IMDS errors
• Incorrect mass – Request: please check IMDS measured mass is within
tolerance on DWG before submittal.
– Drawing mass not available requires investigation, delays status.
– Sets and kits require supplier evidence.
– Report correct minor code!
• The deviation between measured and calculated weight exceeding 1% for component parts. – With IMDS 10, Toyota will match IMDS Rec 001.
