Plastics Alternatives CatalogPresented by: Coastal Connections, Inc
“Humans are the only creatures with the ability to dive deep in the sea, fly high in the
sky, send instant messages around the globe, reflect on the past, assess the present and
imagine the future.” So let's imagine a cleaner and more sustainable future. “Mother
Earth is a living organism too. Love, honor, and respect her.” - Sylvia Earl

Introduction
We are so excited that you are exploring alternative products for single-use
plastics to become more sustainable! Please let this catalog serve as a resource for
you as you get started on your journey to reducing your single-use plastic
consumption. You will find a wide variety of plastic alternative products that can
be perfectly suited for your household, next party, or business. We have listed a
number of product options for straws, utensils, drinkware, bowls, take out
containers, and bags. Starting 2021, every year’s catalog will highlight a new
category of sustainable products. Our special 2021 category is PACKAGING.
Website links and pictures are included throughout for your convenience. This
document is only a resource for anyone interested in plastic alternatives and is not
sponsored or endorsed by a specific company.
Coastal Connections, Inc (CCinc) would like to thank the Surfing Evolution &
PreservationFoundation for their generous support towards our Vero Goes Zero
initiative.
Finally, thank you to all of our fantastic volunteers that have spread our mission
across our local community. We are looking forward to developing new
sustainable relationships across Vero Beach and beyond!

How Eco Friendly Are Your
Eco-Friendly Products?
Not all products marketed as “Eco-Friendly” are the same. Each product's “friendliness” towardsthe environment is different depending on the material it is made from and its ability to berecycled back into the earth. This catalog was organized by researching each product’s ability todecompose and what special needs (if any) it has in order to break down in the environment.Products listed within are done so in the order of fastest or most natural decomposition, to theslowest and most industrialized. Even though some products, like plant-based plastics, take along time to decompose or require an industrial composting site, they are still a step in the rightdirection to building a greener market and cleaner habitats for wildlife like protected sea turtles.
