A Creative Approach to Meetings

Imagine a Meeting that Delights Participants

ImageThink facilitation unearths your brightest ideas to capitalize on your biggest opportunities.

What does this look like? Meetings that encourage people to lean in, in which creative ideas are brought to life, where old ways of thinking are challenged.

How we do it? ImageThink’s proprietary methodology incorporates whiteboard exercises, mind-mapping, and graphic recording to inspire collaboration.

The ImageThink Method

A Methodology as Rigorous as Your Goals

Developed by ImageThink Founder and CEO Nora Herting, The ImageThink Method™ synthesizes more than a decade of experience delivering results in high-stakes meetings.

It provides a framework for applying visual theory, graphic facilitation and design thinking to thoughtfully and programmatically project a clear path forward.

The end result isn’t just a successful project, but a more engaging, collaborative, and creative process that ends with measurable outcomes, meaningful deliverables, and actionable roadmaps.

Discover. Design. Deliver.

What does collaboration with the ImageThink Facilitation team look like? We structure our facilitation process into three distinct stages:

Discovery and Design – A brief, proprietary assessment uncovers your needs and defines objectives. Using the ImageThink Method™ we design your agenda with the right visual tools. We select each module to inspire creativity, drive participation, and encourage bigger thinking.

Delivery – Guiding participants through collaborative discussions and hands-on exercises, our facilitators ensure you meet your objectives while delighting your participants. By capturing visual notes of insights and conversations, we keep everyone engaged and on course.

Debrief – In an event post-mortem, we will share insights and recommend how to move your project to the next phase, engender team buy-in, and maintain momentum. We’ll help you leverage the big ideas captured in your session and offer a clear picture of next steps.

Case – Employee Designed Career Path at BMW

Assumptions Challenged: Employee input is too narrow to be of strategic use and requires costly and time-consuming surveys and data analysis to collect .

Ideas Inspired: Gathering teams together in one room and working visually helps them identify and capitalize on patterns, setting the table for everyone to align on strategy .

Phase of the ImageThink Method™: Scan

The Financial Services team at BMW was tasked to formulate a new Associate career path to boost employee engagement and improve retention. In order for these changes to be adopted, they would need input from employees, as well as buy-in from associates and leadership.

ImageThink designed and facilitated employee insight sessions. Using our futurecasting brainstorm module, we inspired associates to think beyond compensation and benefits to provide creative, meaningful suggestions to improve career paths.

Outcome: Following the meeting, ImageThink aggregated all viewpoints into one visual. This brought the team to the end of the Scan phase. BMW was now ready to move into the Engage phase they needed to socialize their idea. ImageThink’s visual summary became the cornerstone of their presentation, serving to both document and advance the project strategy.

Case - Talent Acquisition Mission Statement

Assumptions Challenged: It’s impossible to craft a meaningful mission statement that will satisfy and serve siloed teams in just two hours.

Ideas Inspired: Identifying common values and aligning on goals is much faster and easier when dialogue is fostered and teams work in parallel.

Phase of the ImageThink Method™: Engage

In the discovery stage the ImageThink team uncovered that two corporate divisions had competing mandates. Each wanted to work differently and encourage interdepartmental collaboration and alignment but were struggling to foster interdepartmental dialogue.

ImageThink created and facilitated a World Café, making space for cross-team conversation. We challenged participant groups to craft their own mission statements. Rather than illustrating a philosophical divide, this drew out the FedEx team’s shared beliefs and values.

From these unique-but-aligned statements, ImageThink led the team to synthesize a mission statement that resonated with the full group.

Outcome: Within the allotted two hours, our client had an illustration of their shared mission. Multiple copies of this visual mission statement hang in the public areas of both divisions as a daily reminder of the bigger picture.

Case - Design Thinking at Twitter

Assumptions Challenged: Design thinking and agile business principles are in conflict with a policy-driven, operations-focused business unit.

Ideas Inspired: Infusing protocols and policies with these flexible models empowers teams to take swift action.

Phase of the ImageThink Method™: Scan & Engage

Twitter’s team manages a global conversation, making real time decisions to flag tweets, deactivate accounts, and ban individuals from the platform. These high-pressure scenarios were guided historically by a rigid set of policies and procedures.

During the discovery stage Twitter leadership shared that the team was new to the application of agile practices and design thinking principles. Their goals to “ignite creative practices and teach design thinking” placed them within the Scan Phase of the ImageThink Method™.

Creating a custom, two-day workshop, CEO Nora Herting introduced the ImageThink Method™ to the Twitter team and led them through a series of visual exercises from her book, Draw Your Big Idea.

Outcome: Twitter identified gaps in each phase of their own model. They generated creative solutions and behavioral shifts to embrace both agile practices and design thinking, successfully moving them through the Scan Phase into the Engage Phase.
