I I I I IWild Women's Weekend

To whom it may concern

IWhangamata needs a winter event. An event that fits into a weekend . This does that.

I Wild Women's Weekend is simply a weekend in Whanga for women who want to have fun. To have the weekend off- to play golf-go for a walk-kick up their heels

I Enterprise Whangamata is now over 10 years old- we represent over 85 local businesses and community organisations and successfully run the Whangamata Information Centre- with over 100,000 visitors every year.

We know this town better than anyone and have a range of skills that have delivered several outstanding and long term events. Including Whanga Dollars, Pohutukawa Festival, the

I launch of WhangamataNZ.com, interactive surf mural and many more.

We are an incorporated society with chair, secretary, treasurer and active committee who believe this town needs a winter event.

I W e hope you agree

I Yours sincerely

I Christina Scurr

I I I I I IWild Women's Weekend

Background:

I Worldwide women are becoming more physical, independent and proactive. Many not only love the idea of spending more time with other women- they are serious about organising it. Spending on leisure, entertainment, and sport by women over 35 has risen dramatically in the last 10 years.

Whangamata is perfectly placed between three main high- income centres. Tauranga,

I Hamilton and Auckland and a special winter weekend' is accessible for most and easy to arrange.

IEvent: Date: Last weekend in May. 28/29- 2016. The weekend will feature events with local sports

I clubs-restaurants- service clubs and bars. We will inform town of event and then call for local partners through our membership base-to create events ie The Wild Women's Weekend- Golf Tournament. The Lincoln Male Revue. We will then follow this through to attract

Inational women centric sponsors le fashion/make up companies.

Budget : We have budgeted $25,000 to develop all components of the event including

I website - , sponsor packs, marketing, PR and local town support. As with other successful Whangamata Events- for example Beach Hop-our website will be the home for events and we will take a commission with each booking. We will also

I approach national sponsors for their ideas and financial contribution. All development expenses will be quoted, billed, approved and audited by existing Enterprise Whangamata financial management and submitted to TCDC as requested.

IYear 1 Budget $25,000. Applied for from TCDC Major Events Sponsorship.
