Problems with personal information

• You have been asked to organise a meeting with your own team together with a team from another organisation. What systems would you need to do so?

• What problems can arise when arranging this, taking into account the way people store personal information?

Organisational knowledge

• But... Can an organisation, which isn’t living, have knowledge?

• “Individuals come and go but organizations preserve knowledge, behaviors, mental maps norms, and values over time”(Hedberg, 1981: p6).

The dominant view of organizational knowledge is that it exists in the form of routines resulting from an accumulation of past experience that guide future behavior . Routines include the rules, operating procedures, values, beliefs and frameworks that determine how the organization is designed and operated. Levitt and March (1996)
